The office does not let you wait in waiting area since covid, which means you have to wait in car for however long it takes. That's fine if we were unvaccinated. I would really love to give this orthodontic office five stars, but I need to be honest. I think that my child did receive professional care when it came to the technicalities of braces but unfortunately the communication from the staff was poor over the 4 years that we have been there. For example, I would leave a message in the general mailbox and rarely get a call back, I would have to get lucky and call when somebody would answer to get the information I needed. Also, some of the employees over the years at the front desk were lukewarm with their reception at best and seemed inconvenienced at times when I needed help. I very rarely heard from anyone if there was something important going on with my kid's braces, I would have to try to get a hold of them to be in the loop. Most professionals would let the parent know about any pertinent information. I will be taking my other child to a different doctor for his braces. read more

So funny story, I flew to D.C. from Sacramento a few months ago and lost my retainer! I had that thing since I was 15 and get bad headaches if I don't wear it everyday since my teeth shift back (I had a lot of work done for this smile!) so I was in need to find these things. I searched all of our luggage, called the airlines, the airports, and family but no one had them. Defeated, I cried because I was in D.C. for 7 days! 7 days without my retainer and I quickly remembered the headaches and pain that is to come. Luckily, my Dentist referred me to Dr. So over a year ago so I remembered that I had bookmarked her practice on Yelp. I called and was able to schedule a consultation the day I got back to San Leandro. I explained my issue and they looked at my teeth and took some x-rays. I was able to get molds done the same day and they even let me pay for half that day and half when I picked my retainers up. The molds didn't take long and they allowed me to come in right after work to grab my new retainers. After some adjustments, and quick payment + discount for checking into Yelp, I was the proud new owner of fresh retainers. They fit great and I was welcome to come back anytime should they need adjustments. Dr. So has great chair side manner, as does the rest of her staff, and was a pleasure talking to. Fun fact: I found my retainers the same day in my truck cause I had to grab a bag ....they were wedged, in their box, out of sight. I needed new ones anyways so it was a blessing in disguise. Kaiser would not do my jaw surgery without orthodontics so I began with Dr. So and a year later had the surgery and she then took over my aftercare and it was nothing but wonderful all around.
