Our son has had braces for the last couple of years with Dr. Griggs and they have been so great from the very first day. This is the most amazing office. I cannot say enough about this practice and their wonderful staff. My daughter had to get braces and like any parent I wanted her to have good oral health and a beautiful smile yet the cost of braces was not lost on me. Dr. Griggs office took away so much of the financial anxiety that I felt. The cost and contract was well explained and her future dental care was laid out. This office takes such good care of my daughter, who is 15. They explain things to her so that she doesn't feel overwhelmed having to care for her braces. They also completely worked with me even when I had gotten laid off, which was of course so unforeseen (I also had just had twins). The staff there is friendly and they actually care. Especially Robin! Robin is so good at her job because she has a BIG HEART. She is always so sweet when I call and never made me feel embarrassed about the payment plan that I needed to go on. Some folks can't wait to belittle you or talk rudely to you! Not Robin, she loves her clients! They also have excellent Covid-19 protocol and I feel comfortable with my daughter going into the establishment. If you are looking for an office, I highly recommend them. 5 stars all the way around. Many thanks to Dr. Griggs and his wonderful staff and a extra special thanks to Robin! God bless you guys! read more

My daughter has been going here for about a year now and we have nothing but great things to say about this place.

Yikes! Read the contract with a lawyer or prepare for sudden additional costs. We had an expander that was very poorly made and broke repeatedly. Now we don't need an expanded, but need a new retainer. Very sketchy explanations. UPDATE: 1. At no point was anyone hit in the face. 2. This appliance has broken multiple times and multiple pieces have fallen off. 3. When asked I was told that this happens with the removable appliances. 4. When I asked why we weren't told "this happens" when we were choosing permanent or removable I was told I can read my contract. At no point is this good customer service. read more

Love this place! I go,I take my kids, great people working there! I highly recommend it you want healthy straight teeth. Doctor does not stop till you have a great smile. I had jaw problems and gaps now I have a beautiful smile that I love. read more

Thank you to the warm, friendly, and amazing staff at Dr. Griggs! I really enjoyed the staff there - they are a very Professional environment and super accommodating! I would highly recommend them to anyone seeking an Orthodontist in the area. My daughter and I felt very comfortable throughout the whole process. I always felt that I could reach out anytime there were any questions or needed any type of help just to help my daughter get through it all. Getting braces placed on and taken off is no joke! But Dr Griggs helped us get through it all and we are very grateful for his services. Word of advice: Always make sure to always ask lots of questions before you find the right Orthodontist that will fit your family's financial and/or child's needs. Griggs Orthodontics: Reginald Griggs, DDS - Thank you Dr. Griggs and staff for my beautiful smile! - Orthodontists Near Me - Castro Valley, California

We interviewed a few orthodontists in the area when I was told our sons mouth was quite the project. I also reached out to my Facebook community about who has recommendations for orthos and almost everyone said Griggs. I met with Dr. Griggs and his staff and I was sold! They were the only office what was not super pushy on getting started. He was the only one that said let us know when your ready! We have been going to him for 3 years now and have had great results. Of all the times we have visited the office I have never once had a bad experience. The staff is incredibly caring and they all have wonderful personalities. The best part they are always on time!!!!! Since we started we have sent many friends and family members over and they too are all very happy! I made the best decision for my son and I am thrilled on his treatment plan so far. read more

I was looking for fix my teeth for the second time( stopped wearing retainer as a teenager) and my bottom teeth shifted. I found Dr. Griggs and he went over the options best for me and we went with invisiglin. This has been the best experience I've had, the ENTIRE staff is very friendly and welcoming. I started treatment right when covid started and we worked through it and I felt safe with the protocols they have. My wife and kids have been seeing Dr. Griggs from 2016 on. The staff is friendly, professional and extremely helpful. They offer multiple billing options and (gratefully) discounts for multiple family members in treatment. We have only ever been happy with our experiences here. And, it's a bonus that they're right next to our dentist, so they can have the wires removed for cleanings. Super happy with this ultra professional office... a great group of people who do amazing work. read more

The absolute best. Both of my kids got braces here and I got Invisalign. Great service and my kids teeth are beautiful. Highly recommend.

I've been going here for over a year now. I absolutely love all the workers there except one. Robin, the woman that sits at the front desk is incredibly rude. She acts as if a person just being there is the biggest inconvenience and surprise to her day. If she's doing nothing, she'll purposely make herself look busy just so she doesn't have to talk to you in the moment. There have been several instances where I'll be standing in front of her desk for minutes at a time as she fakes a call (saying nothing by the way) or shuffles papers. When this happens, someone else who isn't even at the front desk comes from the dentist area to help. I just wonder what she's being paid for if it's not to help the people who come in. She's constantly rolls her eyes and makes it very apparent that she hates her job. I dislike and hate every time I have to go to her to make another appointment. Her nasty attitude turns the entire visit sour before I walk through the door. I'm glad my treatment is over and I only have to go in every year or so. I hate leaving bad reviews to nice establishments, but I genuinely can't think of a single positive reason as to why that woman is still working there. read more

I'm really disappoint with the customer service front desk gave me over the phone. I called Thursday 09/12/19 around 1:50pm I'm informing the person that I am speaking to which I believe her name is Robin that I am a new patient and while telling her she's huffing and puffing being so rude. I understand we have our good and bad days but when it coming to giving customer service and especially to new patients we have to set aside what we're going through. A close friend of mine referred me and talked to me about the good experience she had here and I was really excited to check this place out but unfortunately I decided not to book my appointment due to the poorly and unprofessional customer service I was given. read more

I highly recommend working with Dr. Griggs and his team! I got my braces put on just under two years ago. I came to their office at the recommendation of my coworker who had a positive experience. I found the team to be very kind and professional, and I always felt like I was in good hands. I absolutely trusted the care of my teeth and smile to Dr. Griggs, who patiently answered any questions I had. Regarding appointment experience, sometimes I would almost want more time in the waiting room to read the magazines, but they were so quick - I would always be whisked in for my appointment! Which of course, is great news and shows their efficiency. They are also a business that goes above and beyond and has fun. I'm sure they decorate for the holidays for the kids, but I appreciated it as an adult too. Their price quote was more affordable compared to competitors, and they have an in-house payment plan option that was extremely helpful to me. My braces are off now, and I'm thrilled with the results. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. (Other than the actual braces part, that was hard and painful at times... but I don't think there's any avoiding that.) I'm very grateful to Dr. Griggs and the whole team! read more

I love this office! Everybody is so friendly and effective! Dr. Griggs has a great office and he is an EXCELLENT ORTHODONTIST! He is a SMOOTH OPERATOR and knows his business to the TEE! Griggs Orthodontics: Reginald Griggs, DDS - MY NEW SMILE! - Orthodontists Near Me - Castro Valley, California

I am an older patient tired of my crooked teeth who finally decided to try invisalign. I got a few estimates. Dentist Griggs was the least expensive and was able to offer me invisalign express because I just had a slight correction to make. I was hesitant to go through with this but I am so happy I went with Dr. Griggs. My teeth look amazing and I had a positive experience working with him and his friendly office staff. read more

Pretty good orthodontist office. Had braces for almost two years and it went smoothly. Although, my teeth weren't that bad before so I can't speak for someone who has gone through more extensive work. Nonetheless, I felt like it wasn't a hassle and my appointments were always quick and easy. The only issue I had was the receptionist. I don't know if she's just not a people person, but she has a pretty sour attitude and I always dreaded having to call or make an appointment with her. read more

Completely unprofessional! My son started treatment here about a year ago. After moving, we started with a new orthodontist who was very concerned at the lack of quality care my son had been given and had to start a completely new plan. On top of that, Griggs refused to transfer my son's medical records to our new orthodontist. I highly DO NOT recommend Griggs! read more

I have three family members in treatment with Dr. Griggs. My entire experience from consultation until now has been nothing but super professional. The entire staff is kind, friendly and accommodating. My first child started treatment in August 2016, the second last spring, and I actually started today. I want to address a review specifically posted by Tony O. earlier today (8/29/18) as I am the mother of the patient Tony is referring to. Not once had there been a problem with the professionalism or care my son received under Dr. Griggs. To take it a point further, the staff worked with me to ensure that my son received his care even though the father left the account in delinquent status from the first day, when he showed up having "forgotten his card." They worked with me and I ended up making payments so that my son could received his care. In May, when my son decided to move in with his father, the father stopped bringing him. He would make appointment and not show up. Dr. Griggs has a full load and a busy schedule. This, I'm sure, impacted their schedule negatively. Dr. Griggs also sat with the father personally to work out a plan that would help finish our son's work (it was slated to be complete by this month, and most likely would have been, had his care not been interrupted) Today, I happened to be in the office when the receptionist received a call from this man. He had her near tears with his foul mouthed, belligerent behavior. They should earn extra stars for having to deal with someone like this. I have another child receiving treatment. I am receiving treatment. I can say, without a doubt, that this is an ultra-professional, more than qualified orthodontist and staff. My own experience has been top-notch through broken wires, canker sores, headgear, etc. they are always willing to fit you in for emergency work, and the staff is always cheerful and seem happy to be doing their jobs. Their work is thorough, careful and I won't hesitate, should my other two children require orthodontic work, to bring them back there. This is an establishment that enjoys what they do. I see it in the faces of all the customers as they come and go. read more

We looked a little closer to home for our newest orthodontist, Dr. Reginald A. Griggs. Our oldest child had an orthodontists in Fremont and Danville and it was not close to our Castro Valley residence. We were referred to Dr. Griggs through our dentist here in town, but we also discovered a whole host of other friends from school here in town who are also happy patients over at Griggs. Our initial appointment involved photos and a consultation regarding billing information and setting up a flexible payment plan. The staff at Griggs is calm and professional. That helped get things off to a great start for us. At each appointment, we were seen promptly and the staff was kind enough to provide parent education while my child was in the chair so that I could know how to best help her between appointments. Dr. Griggs is honest, straightforward, personable, and kind. He incredibly good with children and teenagers AND adults. Each interaction has been positive and constructive. I would highly recommend Dr. Griggs for you or your child's orthodontics needs. They are the #1 choice right here in Castro Valley and definitely the surrounding area. read more

I've been going to Dr. Griggs office for the past two years. Dr. Griggs put my braces on two years ago when my teeth were far from perfect. I got them off yesterday and I'm thrilled with the results. My teeth look great! He and his staff are very friendly and professional. They always let me know what was going on with my teeth each visit and what to expect the next visit. Those two years flew by because I never had a problem and each visit I was in and out. I'm glad I went to Dr. Griggs for my braces. read more

I recently completed my Invisalign braces and very happy with the results. All of Dr Griggs team was excellent from reception to assistants to Dr Griggs himself. They know your name when you walk in the door and are a very fun and nice group. I would recommend this business as well as Invisalign. I had regular braces when I was younger and Invisalign was a much better experience. Invisalign is probably not the best for young kids because they can lose the aligners though. read more

My sister and I got our braces with Dr. Griggs when we were 13 years old. Our parents took us after there was a not-so-good experience with another orthodontist in the Peninsula. We are now 31 years old, - 18 years have passed since we first walked in Dr. Grigg's office - our teeth are in great shape, and we still pop into Dr. Griggs' office to catch up and say hello. Having moved around a lot since then, working with different doctors I appreciate Dr. Griggs even more. He's the very best in the Bay Area! read more

I don't write a lot of reviews but felt compelled to write one for Dr. Griggs at Griggs Orthodontics and his staff. He and his staff are the most efficient, kind, professional and fun dentist office I've ever been to. From the first time we walked in we immediately felt comfortable and cared for. Dr. Griggs took a lot of time to discuss options all while being kind, thoughtful and considerate of my dental budget. I never felt like he was trying to oversell or push anything. His focus is in helping people. I'm always so impressed how he and his staff are always right on time!! That never happens these days. We get in and out quickly. Every interaction I've had with him and his staff has been great. Everyone always has a smile on their face and great attitude. That says a lot! A special shout out to Robyn at the front desk. Dr. Griggs is nice, The medical staff that worked with my daughter were nice and informative. The only glitch was not being prepared to do the molds in August as we were told in July. This delayed everything by a month. We thought we would not have to have stress at the beginning of school but that did not work out. The front desk staff was very rude to the point of us being uncomfortable to go to our appointments. We were never greeted. We were ignored. When we asked to set an appointment or ask for a Dr. note for school, it is was always a uncomfortable, negative experience. When she would suggest a date and time for an appointment that would not work for us and we would ask for a different one, she rolled her eyes at us. We felt like an inconvenience to her. Never smiled at us, always looked angry. Made my whole family uncomfortable. I've had 4 different people in my family take my daughter to these appointments and the outcome was the same. The first impression of the office is not a good one once you become a patient. Especially when you are working with children, they pick up on people. To tell the truth, I have been afraid to speak about this because I was afraid she would make the experience even worst for my daughter and I. She still can I guess. Consumer beware. Regarding the out come of her treatment. She just got her braces off, retainers are today. Can not speak to it yet. read more

I transferred my son's care to Dr. Griggs after a horrible experience with a different orthodontist. It was the best decision I've made to date in regards to my son's orthodontic care. Dr. Griggs and his staff are very professional. We were seen at or before our appointment time (at all visits) for the past two years! They provided helpful feed back after each visit and made it a point to educate the patient as well as the parent. My son had his braces removed yesterday and is "over the moon" with the results. After posting pictures of himself with Dr. Griggs on fb, he was surprised to discover that all his friends receive their orthodontic care at his office too! Growing up I never had the straight gleaming smile that I had always desired. However, at age 19, I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Griggs and finally decided to make a stride toward my dream smile. Dr. Griggs is a excellent orthodontist with state of the art talent. His knowledge for creating the perfect smile is unimaginable until the first moment you look in the mirror bracket-free and see the custom made smile he created specifically for you. While having braces during my college years was less than desirable, Dr. Griggs and his team worked diligently to perform their work on a tight time frame so that I could remove my braces before studying abroad. His friendly team made my monthly visits from Santa Barbara to Castro Valley surprising enjoyable. Each of his assistants were so sweet it was almost hard to not engage in conversation with them as they were replacing my bands. After first handedly experiencing my confident smile and my confidence in Dr. Griggs, I have since had an uncle and a cousin who have gone to Griggs Orthodontics for their adult braces, needless to say I highly recommend the entire team. read more

We have been clients of Dr. Griggs' for over 8 years. Both my children and I have had the pleasure of being under his orthodontic care. We are SO happy with how our smiles have improved! He genuinely cares about his patients and it shows. His office staff is always happy and helpful. They have worked for him for many, many years, which says a lot about how Dr. Griggs treats his employees. I'm impressed with their efficient operation too. When we were looking for an orthodontist for my son's care years ago we were all stunned at the course of care others recommended. It just seemed too involved for his dental situation. Fortunately, in our search we met Dr. Griggs. He recommended a very reasonable and easy course of care for my son's situation. We thought, wow is this for real? :) And yes it was. My son finished his treatment on time with zero issues.
