This is the most amazing office. I cannot say enough about this practice and their wonderful staff. My daughter had to get braces and like any parent I wanted her to have good oral health and a beautiful smile yet the cost of braces was not lost on me. Dr. Griggs office took away so much of the financial anxiety that I felt. The cost and contract was well explained and her future dental care was laid out. This office takes such good care of my daughter, who is 15. They explain things to her so that she doesn't feel overwhelmed having to care for her braces. They also completely worked with me even when I had gotten laid off, which was of course so unforeseen (I also had just had twins). The staff there is friendly and they actually care. Especially Robin! Robin is so good at her job because she has a BIG HEART. She is always so sweet when I call and never made me feel embarrassed about the payment plan that I needed to go on. Some folks can't wait to belittle you or talk rudely to you! Not Robin, she loves her clients! They also have excellent Covid-19 protocol and I feel comfortable with my daughter going into the establishment. If you are looking for an office, I highly recommend them. 5 stars all the way around. Yikes! Read the contract with a lawyer or prepare for sudden additional costs. We had an expander that was very poorly made and broke repeatedly. Now we don't need an expanded, but need a new retainer. Very sketchy explanations. UPDATE: 1. At no point was anyone hit in the face. 2. This appliance has broken multiple times and multiple pieces have fallen off. 3. When asked I was told that this happens with the removable appliances. 4. When I asked why we weren't told "this happens" when we were choosing permanent or removable I was told I can read my contract. At no point is this good customer service. read more

We interviewed a few orthodontists in the area when I was told our sons mouth was quite the project. I also reached out to my Facebook community about who has recommendations for orthos and almost everyone said Griggs. I met with Dr. Griggs and his staff and I was sold! They were the only office what was not super pushy on getting started. He was the only one that said let us know when your ready! We have been going to him for 3 years now and have had great results. Of all the times we have visited the office I have never once had a bad experience. The staff is incredibly caring and they all have wonderful personalities. I've been going here for over a year now. I absolutely love all the workers there except one. Robin, the woman that sits at the front desk is incredibly rude. She acts as if a person just being there is the biggest inconvenience and surprise to her day. If she's doing nothing, she'll purposely make herself look busy just so she doesn't have to talk to you in the moment. There have been several instances where I'll be standing in front of her desk for minutes at a time as she fakes a call (saying nothing by the way) or shuffles papers. When this happens, someone else who isn't even at the front desk comes from the dentist area to help. I just wonder what she's being paid for if it's not to help the people who come in. She's constantly rolls her eyes and makes it very apparent that she hates her job. I dislike and hate every time I have to go to her to make another appointment. Her nasty attitude turns the entire visit sour before I walk through the door. I'm glad my treatment is over and I only have to go in every year or so. I hate leaving bad reviews to nice establishments, but I genuinely can't think of a single positive reason as to why that woman is still working there. read more

I called Thursday 09/12/19 around 1:50pm I'm informing the person that I am speaking to which I believe her name is Robin that I am a new patient and while telling her she's huffing and puffing being so rude. I highly recommend working with Dr. Griggs and his team! I got my braces put on just under two years ago. I came to their office at the recommendation of my coworker who had a positive experience. I found the team to be very kind and professional, and I always felt like I was in good hands. I absolutely trusted the care of my teeth and smile to Dr. Griggs, who patiently answered any questions I had. Regarding appointment experience, sometimes I would almost want more time in the waiting room to read the magazines, but they were so quick - I would always be whisked in for my appointment! I'm sure they decorate for the holidays for the kids, but I appreciated it as an adult too. I have three family members in treatment with Dr. Griggs. My entire experience from consultation until now has been nothing but super professional. The entire staff is kind, friendly and accommodating. My first child started treatment in August 2016, the second last spring, and I actually started today. I want to address a review specifically posted by Tony O. earlier today (8/29/18) as I am the mother of the patient Tony is referring to. Not once had there been a problem with the professionalism or care my son received under Dr. Griggs. To take it a point further, the staff worked with me to ensure that my son received his care even though the father left the account in delinquent status from the first day, when he showed up having "forgotten his card." They worked with me and I ended up making payments so that my son could received his care. In May, when my son decided to move in with his father, the father stopped bringing him. He would make appointment and not show up. Dr. Griggs has a full load and a busy schedule. This, I'm sure, impacted their schedule negatively. Dr. Griggs also sat with the father personally to work out a plan that would help finish our son's work (it was slated to be complete by this month, and most likely would have been, had his care not been interrupted) Today, I happened to be in the office when the receptionist received a call from this man. He had her near tears with his foul mouthed, belligerent behavior. They should earn extra stars for having to deal with someone like this. I have another child receiving treatment. I am receiving treatment. I can say, without a doubt, that this is an ultra-professional, more than qualified orthodontist and staff. My own experience has been top-notch through broken wires, canker sores, headgear, etc. they are always willing to fit you in for emergency work, and the staff is always cheerful and seem happy to be doing their jobs. Their work is thorough, careful and I won't hesitate, should my other two children require orthodontic work, to bring them back there. This is an establishment that enjoys what they do. Our oldest child had an orthodontists in Fremont and Danville and it was not close to our Castro Valley residence. We were referred to Dr. Griggs through our dentist here in town, but we also discovered a whole host of other friends from school here in town who are also happy patients over at Griggs. Our initial appointment involved photos and a consultation regarding billing information and setting up a flexible payment plan. The staff at Griggs is calm and professional. That helped get things off to a great start for us. At each appointment, we were seen promptly and the staff was kind enough to provide parent education while my child was in the chair so that I could know how to best help her between appointments. I recently completed my Invisalign braces and very happy with the results. All of Dr Griggs team was excellent from reception to assistants to Dr Griggs himself. They know your name when you walk in the door and are a very fun and nice group. I would recommend this business as well as Invisalign. Dr. Griggs is nice, The medical staff that worked with my daughter were nice and informative. The only glitch was not being prepared to do the molds in August as we were told in July. This delayed everything by a month. We thought we would not have to have stress at the beginning of school but that did not work out. The front desk staff was very rude to the point of us being uncomfortable to go to our appointments. We were never greeted. We were ignored. When we asked to set an appointment or ask for a Dr. note for school, it is was always a uncomfortable, negative experience. When she would suggest a date and time for an appointment that would not work for us and we would ask for a different one, she rolled her eyes at us. We felt like an inconvenience to her. Never smiled at us, always looked angry. Made my whole family uncomfortable. I've had 4 different people in my family take my daughter to these appointments and the outcome was the same. The first impression of the office is not a good one once you become a patient. Especially when you are working with children, they pick up on people. To tell the truth, I have been afraid to speak about this because I was afraid she would make the experience even worst for my daughter and I. She still can I guess. Consumer beware.
