To start with, dental assistant, Rosemary, had BLOODY ARM SCRATCHES! These should have been covered. I had a lapse in judgement and let her do exrays. At first, I was focused on her changing her gloves. Had to ask a couple times and yet she handled things in a manner that was less than hygienic. Open instrument pack and picked out one tool at the top that would be directly in contact with my skin. Next, DR FISHER. Comes in, very nice. He put his gloves on and then picked up his glasses. NOT HYGIENIC! I told him I didn't feel comfortable and why and he asked if he can try again. I said no. There's no do-overs. Hopefully nothing was passed to me by the assistant. VERY UNSANITARY! A doctor and staff may be very nice. Nice isn't good enough. Being ethical and clean is the first requirement. Keep your eyes open. Maybe just avoid this office. read more

"Dr" Larry Fisher in Chicago did a root canal on my tooth that soon turned into inflate bacteria party house and I had to take out the tooth, being 18 years and naive he told me he would do a bridge for me ruining my other two teeth, he didn't tell me about other options like implant just the missing one tooth , or other option of wearing partial denture because he with doing a bridges he was getting more money himself, such a jerk who took advantage of little young naive college kid. I hope this Dr take his money to hell! him doing the bridge he ruined my other healthy teeth, and so on, I stopped losing teeth when I stopped seeing dentists, many of them are fake and corrupt, I don't believe what I read about him, he is one of the dentists who look over complains from patients on other dentists, my Goodness! If he is such a wonderful dentist, then why the ugly teeth in his mouth! read more

I was so happy to have found Dr. Fisher back in Ravenswood when I first moved to Chicago. When he moved out to Portage Park, I tried to find a local replacement, but just couldn't. He and his office are worth fighting the traffic out west. Dr. Fisher is a gentle, calm, and careful person. He had to replace some difficult multi surface posterior resin fillings that had chipped somewhere in between two molars. I had been living with it for years (shoddy work from a different dentist). Dr. Fisher's replacement is 10x better than the old fillings ever were. My bite is perfect, and I no longer shred floss every time I go in there. I appreciate his conservative approach to fillings. He's not the sort to want to drill and fill every little pocket. He will monitor your teeth for changes, and only if he sees growing decay does he recommend taking care of it. Honest guy. The whole office are sweet people. Replacing them is going to be hard. read more

Dr Fisher is the absolute best. I started going to his office almost 15 years ago (!) when I was terrified of the dentist and hadn't been in some time. Dr. Fisher has taken great care of my teeth over the years, and has helped me manage the costs of dental care. As a person with crooked teeth, going to the dentist can be embarrassing. Dr. Fisher is a nice dentist. I like that they have digital X-Rays and they do a good job cleaning your teeth. My latest dentist did need to smooth out one of the fillings he had given me, not a big deal, just thought I'd note it here. The issue I have, and which is why we had to find a new dentist, it is impossible to get in here without either waiting a long time, or having them reschedule. Without fail, of my 2 appointments, the first I was kept waiting an hour, and the second about 45 minutes. I understand emergencies happen, but why the heck is it every time?! My husband encountered worse. For his cleaning, he waited 45. He had 2 cavities, and made an appointment to come back. They kept him waiting so long for that appointment, they could only fill one and made him schedule to come back again for the second. Then, he made an appointment 6 months in advance for a teeth cleaning, showed up, and was kept waiting 45 min. He was told it would be at least another 20-30 minutes at which point he left. Unacceptable! Also, they have some pretty crazy patients here. I sat in the waiting room with a guy screaming and moaning about his wait. I mean, trust me, I understand why he's unhappy, but WTF? It was seriously freaking me out. Then, another time a man was talking to himself over and over about how he hates pregnant woman. I was the only other person in the waiting room... and I'm not pregnant. Weird weird WEIRD! read more

I have been seeing Dr. Fisher for almost 6 years now and I have never walked out of there disappointed, or feeling like I got ripped off, or let down. He's just the nicest guy ever, very gentle and he actually does the cleanings himself, which was something new to me! His staff are also very friendly and always make you feel comfortable the minute you walk in the door. My insurance covers most everything so I can't comment much on pricing, but a few years back Dr. Fisher brought to my attention that I was grinding my teeth when sleeping, so he fit me for an Invisalign retainer for less than $100 (vs those horrible, bulky, spit-out-worthy night guards). 2-3 years later it is still working like a charm, with no need for a replacement any time soon. read more

I used to dread going to the dentist; it was always an uncomfortable experience, usually painful and would take FOREVER. Then I went to Dr. Fisher. I have gone to Dr. Fisher for a cleaning and a filling. I was never kept waiting in the waiting room for long at all, neither was I kept waiting in 'the chair' for very long at all before he got down to business. He is friendly, but no nonsense. When I went in for my cleaning, from the time I sat in the chair to the time I walked out the door was about 25 minutes and my mouth felt very clean and my teeth looked just as good. When I had my filling, he didn't give me a 'numbing shot' that I didn't need and just got down to business. He made sure the filling was comfortable and kept polishing until it fit right. This whole process took very little time (maybe a half hour?) and was pain free; I almost fell asleep! When I have gotten fillings done before, I've death gripped anything within reach and suffered through the (seemingly) hours of torture, but with Dr. Fisher I had a different experience for sure! I am so happy I found Dr. Fisher and I look forward to recommending him to friends! read more

Dr. Fisher and his staff are the kindest people in the whole world. I am not exaggerating. I went in on Monday without an appointment in complete hysterics due to pain (after two teeth extractions done by another doctor) and frustration. Dr. Fisher sat me down, wrote me a prescription for the pain and explained to me why what I was going through was normal. No charge. I called yesterday again to clarify what was going on with my pain since I couldn't comprehend anything due to the previous day's hysterics. He explained everything again and did not sound inconvenienced in the least. I called again today since I'm still having pain and the secretary was so nice and understanding. I had not been to the dentist in over a year. I had always gone to my childhood dentist until I made friends with a dentist...she then moved to Canada and her replacement only wanted as much money from me as possible (I have never had a cavity in my adult life yet needed a lot of work done - um, no). So, I started a new job that I knew I was going to be at for a while and thought it was time to find a new dentist. I found Dr Fisher and was pleasantly surprised. He looked at my mouth and knew that I take care of my teeth. He did the cleaning which was totally pain free and sent me on my way saying I should just come back in 6 months. Dr. Fisher is the best dentist I have ever seen. His work is excellent and he is extremely gentle, kind and compassionate. He is an artist in fitting crowns, fillings, whatever needs to be done but his greatest strength is in his overall view of the bite and structure of the mouth. The first time I saw Dr. Fisher I had an abscess around a front tooth and had already lost quite a few teeth. He figured out that the major problem I had was with my bite and made me a mouth guard to help correct this and I have not had a serious problem since. I sent Dr. Fisher my friend who was deathly ill with an abscessed tooth and had been refused at several health clinics and hospitals around the city because the extraction was so risky and Dr. Fisher pulled his tooth safely and inexpensively. I've been going to Dr. Fisher for over 4 years now. Before that, I had jumped around dentists like crazy, never really finding one I liked well enough to stick around. I love that he's the one to actually clean your teeth (before, every practice I went to had a hygienist do it and then a dentist would come in for about 2 seconds to look around) and answer any questions. He is patient and kind and his staff is very friendly. I went a couple times while I was pregnant and Dr. Fisher did everything manually/without electric tools without my asking, since I had increased gum sensitivity due to the pregnancy. I'm writing today because I had some tooth pain and they saw me literally on a moment's notice. I found Dr. Fisher when I had an emergency at a bad time. He fit me in right away and have been going to him ever since. I never have trouble getting an appt. and rarely have to wait too long in the waiting room. He explains everything he is doing and is so gentle and soft-spoken that I asked if he'd ever been a pediatric dentist. When Dr. F. was out of town, II saw his associate for an emergency . She scared me with her blunt diagnoses and had me take pain killers until he returned. This was my first time here for a cleaning and as I found Dr. Fisher through Yelp, I thought I'd leave a review on Yelp. I had a late appt in order to be able to go after work. They were able to get me in fairly soon as some places I've had to wait months to get in after 5:00 pm. Dr Fisher was very nice and did the actual cleaning. I'm used to only seeing the dentist for 5 minutes in most cleanings so this was nice that he was there for the whole thing. He gave me great tips on dental care that you'd think I'd have been shown by previous dentist but haven't. It was super fast too, after Xrays, the cleaning and general questions, I felt like there should have been 30 min more to my appt. It could be because I didnt have to wait at all prior to seeing him. That is a huge plus. He also offered into looking up information on costs of Invisalign since I had braces 12 years ago, some shifting has taken place that no other dentists have mentioned at all, either they didn't see it may be an issue, or because I didn't bring it up first, they never have. Either way for someone who hates going to the dentist and is used to getting bad news over needing fillings, root canals, crowns, or extractions, this was my most positive, quick, and painless trip to the dentist ever! read more
