This station is very convenient when headed towards I-12. There are plenty of pumps, and the station is easy to get in and out of. I used this station several times when headed home after training in BR. Because of its convenient location, it did not add much time to my journey. read more

I have to thank John LH for reviewing the LaRouge Mart. I lived in the apartment building next door for months after Katrina. The LaRouge Mart was great, especially for the month that we were down to 1 car and E was already working again. Seriously this is a gas station quick-e-mart, but it has a wine cooler (decent wine not MadDog), 6-8 flavors of icees, snacks, household staples, AND the staff was always really nice. Plus it has green space out back to wander with your dog (always bring your own bag, people!). The only reason it gets minus 1 star is that as I moved out for good (Summer 2006), they put in a Popeye's in their fast food venue. Made the entire block smell like fried ALL the time. Here's a math problem for all you grad students out there: if Johnny has a car that gets 20 mpg, and he drives 2 miles down the street to save 10 cents per gallon of fuel, and he buys 15 gallons at $4/gallon, what is his net savings? Answer: Johnny's original savings is $1.50, but it costs him 20 cents per mile in fuel to run down the street. So a round trip of 4 miles will cost 80 cents, for a net savings of 70 cents per fill-up, or about 1/2 a the cost of a bottle of water. read more

I worked at this place once. I asked the owner why he keeps his prices so high and he told me because he's trying to target a certain clientele. When I asked him to explain, he said he doesn't want to get a "bad reputation", therefore he keeps his prices high to keep "trashy people" from shopping at his store. I asked him if he meant poor people. "I don't want the poor people's money. They can go down the street," he replied. Little does the idiot realize, the gas station down the street sells the same shit for a fraction of the price. The bigger idiots are the ones giving them their money. read more

I don't have entirely too much to say about this convenance store, but I have a couple of helpful tidbits. First off, this store is very pricey. The gas is extremely high, I mean it stays high, the highest I've seen in all of Baton Rouge in years. Secondly, I came in tonight to buy myself some Powerball tickets. I have big dreams of winning that 1.5 billion tonight, heh. So this store served the purpose of what I was looking for in particular. Other than that this store is conveniently located centrally on Jefferson hwy and it's easily accessible. The store itself is kind of small but it's nice. You can tell that the intended target of customers is more-so for high end patrons. I would frequent this store again but not necessarily to fill my car with gas here. read more

I despise this gas station. It is waaaaayyyyyyy overpriced...from the gas to everything in the store as well. I love a red bull and a 12 oz is 4.10$ before tax. You can buy two for almost the price of one at any other gas station in town. Also, the older man with the white hair behind the counter is ridiculous. I watched him follow me from one end of the counter to the other when I was grabbing my red bull and smart pop. I almost walked out without buying anything because it pissed me off so much. I don't look like a thief. Not to mention, you can barely understand him when he speaks. I'll take my business elsewhere. I would rather drive further to a different gas station than encounter his rude behavior. No thank you! read more

I just wanted to update my review because recently the gas prices have been much closer to the prices at the Circle K.

I thought this store was nice at first until i started working in a similar business and really started understanding the ins and outs. The issues with this store start with the owners/managers/employees. They at one point had a FEW great employees but they slowly got rid of them and replaced them with ones with attitudes and didnt know what they were doing. That is just one reason i dont return to this store. The next issue is the way the management treats customers when they are unhappy with things. Instead of trying to make it right ive witnessed customers get cursed out and kicked out while i was in there. Also, the gas prices, i understand u hae to make a little money from the gas BUT most gas stations are making about 5-7 cents a gallon, this store being 30-40 cents higher than others is making waaaay more than what they should. Also the slow gas pumps is due from Employees not changing fikters in the pumps and this causes slow pumping. The thing that allows it to pump on its own isnt there because they probably have issues with the nozzles not shuting off when tank is full and instead of being responsible for it, they just make u have to stand there so they can say its ur fault. Merchandise is waaay overpriced and that is not because the company they get it from is high, when signing a contract the owner states the percentage he wants to make. Merchandise is low because they dont know how to run a business and keep customers happy so they can make the money to get things supplied. This store is failing and will continue to fail until someone with some real business intelligance buys the property. read more
