As for the gas, I have had no problems getting gas, the prices are more than reasonable---does contain ethanol however---and the exterior is clean and well kept. Access to the location is easy for those traveling eastbound on Perkins Road. Certainly I have no reason to stop going.

There are plenty of pumps and I've never found myself waiting for one, even when there is a storm in the gulf. But RaceTrac is more than just gas. If you need snacks for the road stopping here just makes sense. They have hot and cold sandwiches, boiled eggs, string cheese, hot sausage links with buns and all the condiments you want, chili, nachos...you get it. You see it, you like it, you want it, they got it. The drink options here are endless as well. In addition to great fountain drinks with the best ice choices they carry just about every drink you might want. I found Diet Barqs here in a 16 oz bottle and I never see that anywhere. Are you a Froyo lover? Then you're in for a treat with Swirl World. Not only is it delicious, they have all the toppings you'll see in a place that only does Froyo. New RaceTrac stores seem to be popping up all over the place and I'm not complaining about that.

Ahhh Baton Rouge, you know your city/town has made it when a Costco is located there…read more I always stop here whenever staying or passing through Baton Rouge due to the gas. But while staying here, I do stop in to mosey around and see what products/items this location offers that's unique to other locations. The difference is they have some LSU memorabilia and a few Louisiana condiments and beverages you can't find elsewhere. As always, there's all the grocery aisles which consist of the bulk items from the deli and bakery. And of course, those hot items such as the rotisserie chicken and rack of ribs. Cold items including the wraps, cocktail shrimp, salads, and the ready-to-eat meals adorn this place too. I'll sometimes grab one of the meals and let it last for days whenever I'm on travel and staying in one of the hotels around. Since this Costco has been open for several years, it's evident there's some wear and tear around the warehouse. The parking lot can be a bit dirty as well so check your surroundings when here.

I come here to get gas my for 1965 Mercedes Unimog and my 2000 Mercedes S430 and both run on this 92 Octane like a champ. The gas here is more expensive but worth it. A lot of RaceTrac stations sell 87 Ethanol Free unleaded, but if you have an older car or truck that runs better on higher octane Ethanol free this is one of only a select few stations in town that supplies it. The minimart has a nice selection of snacks and candy as well.

As most would expect writing a review about a gas station isn't as wonderful as one might think…read more With so many choices to choose from why would anyone take the time to write about a gas station. Well for one if it's outside your neighborhood and the people are friendly and the variety of goods is ok why not, maybe it'll persuade someone from stopping at another less favorable gas station. These guys hold normal business hours almost. 5 am to 10 pm I think are there hours. Just a simple 4 pumps and the gas may be a few cents more than the rest of town, (not like that lunatic on Jefferson in Bocage, if you live here you know the one). The infomercial LCD's on the gas pumps almost never work, but when they do they feed you the local weather report or lotto numbers. The gas pumps are fast so you're not sitting around forever. The mini-mart sits adjacent to a nail salon, I've never been to the nail salon but they seem to be doing well enough to stay open. The mini mart though has all the standard fare. It's kind of like walking into the convenience store in the movie Clerks. (if you haven't seen it, watch it). Then in the back one of the owners brothers has a hamburger / gyro stand. During the day he cooks up cheeseburger/fry combo's for the hungry gas getters and the occasional gyro request he's happy to oblige. They stock UTZ potato chips there which is a huge plus for me. They also stock fresh crackling's from time to time in the little Ziploc baggies. They have a killer deal of a 32 oz soda for 99 cents which is better than the circle K deal down the street and they have an Icee machine. They even have little seats and tables inside and a few outside if you like eating your hot dog in the humid air. While it's not a 7-11 like those back east or west, it's a nice quick easy mart with nice folks behind the counter and plenty of booze and smokes to keep a suburban LSU sports watching Dad or housewife happy. Easy in / Easy Out traffic flow and easy to find makes this gas station I actually like going to.

The provide stellar service from the counter and are super efficient when there are lines. * The station itself and the convenience store is spotless. The handles are clean; they feel practically new. And what else is clean? The bathroom. Kudos on the latter. * The prices: no one goes to any gas station without first looking at the prices and this particular station the numbers are always lower then most. I'm not saying it's the best deal in town but I am saying it's probably cheaper than the other nearby stations.
