I got the peppered steak which is more like peppered peppers because I had like three pieces of beef!!! And it was not seasoned at all 1/10. I also got the fried chicken w/fries and fried shrimp w/shrimp fried rice. Fried rice looked good but was tasteless 1/10, fried chicken was old and salty 3/10 and I went at about 11:15, maybe they fry it early in the morning and leave it under the light. French fries had too much seasoning on them. Overall this place is a hit or miss. But when it hits...it can be a 10/10!

The new owners are a family owned operation. They completely renovated the place with new freezers, bright lighting and a good selection of soda, beer, fresh meats and to-go hot food. For under $5 you can get a hand made burger with fries. If you're lucky, you can get an 8 piece fried chicken for $3.50!!!! No joke, or 5x 2 Liter sodas for $5. I love that they have a killer selection of soda and energy drinks that is double or triple that of the average mini-mart. I love variety, I'm thrilled that they have a falafel burger on the menu. Probably only place in BR that has this. Po'Boys are made to order and include a soda with fries. The family tries really hard to make things right when custom food orders are made. The normal clientele might scare the average citizen. I think some of the best food is in the least of likely of places (read some of my other reviews). So if you want something a little different and you're feeling adventurous and you're on a budget, give this little place a chance. You won't be disappointed.

I have, however, never tried the Old Hammond location simply because I'm rarely in that area. Recently, a coworker said that they had great sandwiches there, so here I am. And my favorite poboy, especially being from New Orleans, is the hot sausage patty poboy. I have had the links and don't care for them. This poboy was excellent, the store was clean, and the staff was friendly. They have real New Orleans poboy bread, so kudos and kisses for that. I get my poboys dressed with mayo, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, cheese, and sometimes pickles (when I'm feeling picky). Yes, I made up the word prickly because sometimes I have a taste for pickles and sometimes I don't. Anyway, try this location and you won't be disappointed. Just look at my pictures! FYI: You can get almost any kind of poboy that you can imagine here.

And thank goodness that is no longer the case because old me was missing out. In the little unassuming town of Geismar located inside a Chevron you'll find TNT Express Deli and the best damn jambalaya that you've ever had. It was chock full of chicken, pork and sausage and spiced just right. It wasn't at all dry, even after I heated up some of the leftovers and it was affordable as well! I only tried the jambalaya here, but knew it deserved a review of it's own just to put this place on your radar. Don't be like the old me, if you're in Geismar, go check out TNT Express. Again, I was the only person in the building buying anything and the employees had nobody to serve. I'm not sure who is welcomed here, but it's definitely not me. I read the Google reviews and I noticed my experience is not unique to me. If someone is constantly running money out of the door, how do vendors make enough money to pay their rent? With this guy running the place it won't last until the end of the year. Mark my words.
