Chocolate croissant & cortado
Lois M.

Mmmmm... cortados and croissants - the two best "C" words in the dictionary. Ok, that might be my own bias but if you're a fan like I am, go check out Lark Cafe in West Linn. After weeks of physical therapy just down the block from this place, on PT graduation day I decided to treat myself to a treat (or two) at Lark. The inside is cheerful, clean and pleasant, the counter easy to navigate for ordering and picking up. My cortado was perfectly made, served up in a lowball glass (thank you for glass, not paper!), with a beautiful bit of artwork on the top. The chocolate croissant was fluffy, crispy and flaky on the outside, wonderfully stuffed with delicious chocolate on the inside. Sitting inside, sipping on my cortado, getting crumbs all over the place with my croissant, it was the best graduation gift I could have given myself. PS. Cortados are not on their menu but if you want one, just ask. They were happy to accommodate my request. A cortado is a small-sized drink (about 4-5 oz.) that originated in Spain and consists of equal parts espresso and steamed milk, typically served in a small glass, not a cup. I love them.

The bagel was good, perfectly toasted and my drink and bagel came out fast. Service was amazing to one thing I have to complain about is that the latte tasted bad I don't know if it burnt would be a right word but thats how I would describe it.

Good coffee, lots of seating, pleasant staff and clean. Could improve on the banana bread, no flavor, needs more spices and banana. I'd choose another food item on my next visit.

Omg what a gem! I have lived in WL for 7 years and boy do I regret not coming here sooner! Awesome food menu with lots of options including lunch. Coffee selection was diverse with seasonal drink items which I LOVE to see that feature some of PNWs finest offerings like local honey and lavender. The atmosphere is great with plenty of seating inside and out. The service was awesome and it was super clean. They even have some adorable merch! Easy to say this is my new fav local coffee shop

Excellent coffee, great place to meet people, although it can get pretty busy, and their food is good. They have a nice assortment

They are now serving coffee on weekends ONLY in paper cups. Unfortunate and ridiculous.

Disappointing. Cute place in a great location but not for lunch. The food was tasteless and served on paper plates with plastic forks.

While the ambiance has the potential to create a cozy atmosphere the food and service subpar at best.

So unbelievably SLOW. The staff seems to feel no urgency whatsoever. I don't have 20 minutes to get a drink!

The matcha is 1/10. Went for the first time to try matcha and they don't mix the matcha at all.

There are a few tables outside too, complete with propane heaters and umbrellas. We have been coming here with our kids since they were in highchairs. The rotating Waffle of the Month specials have always been a hit with them. The menu offers a lot of flexibility regarding component selections and preparation. Favorites include the Smoked Salmon Avocado Benedict, the Iron Miner's Scramble (eggs, red potatoes, bacon, caramelized onion, black beans, and gravy), and the Lake Grove Breakfast (omelet or scramble). The food is tasty and high quality, as are the coffee and the Bloody Marys. Service is friendly and competent in our experience. Babica Hen takes reservations for parties of eight or more - otherwise, it's first come, first served. The restaurant is located next to the (formerly COVID mask-wearing) large elephant statue which is part of Lake Oswego's Gallery Without Walls outdoor sculpture exhibition. Our kids compliment my wife's homecooked breakfasts by exclaiming, "We're eating at Mama-ca Hen!"

We use to frequent the Babica Hen Cafe in Dundee when it was open so I personally asked to come here. That was an unfortunate mistake on my part. Yes it was a Saturday so we were busy but that was ok with us. We ordered our drinks which was the start of the issues. The ice tea was old. You could taste it being stale. The coffee was super acidic that I asked to have take it back. I can drink just about any coffee but that was something else. We placed our food order and then we waited.. and waited.. and waited some more. It took almost an hour to get our food which seemed wild. During that time we couldn't get our servers attention at all. One of the ice teas had a giant hair in it. They said oh.. I will get a new one.. Nothing else. When the food came out one of them came with a salad and the dressing was so acidic and sour we couldn't eat it. The rest of the food was mediocre at best. I get there is a 18% service charge but it is hard to pay that when service was fairly lackluster. We hardly saw our waitress. Overall the visit left a bad taste and we won't be returning
