I rarely write reviews but this was such a great experience that it deserves a review. I have naturally dark brown hair with a good amount of grey mixed in. The few times I took a risk and decided to change my hair color, I ended up with bleached hair that felt like straw or after a month my hair color turned into a brassy orange. I kind of gave up and decided to stick to being a brunette. I just had a big birthday and decided for my birthday I wanted a BIG HAIR COLOR Change. This is what happens when you spend on an hour on Instagram looking through the Kardashian's IG page. If they could go from dark brown to different shades of blonde I could too. I warned my husband and he said he would put up with the orange hair again as long as I stopped at just the hair change and not go full Kardashian. On the day of the appointment I told David I wanted to go to a "Natural Blonde"but if it couldn't be done with my hair I would be happy to stick to being a brunette. David told me he could get me to a perfect shade of blonde that would compliment my skin tone. It was a process and had several steps. It wasn't just a simple color and Balayage. Simply a beautiful salon with wonderful people. I had a partial foil with Dimika who I have seen for years when she worked at another salon. As usual, she did a fantastic foil on my hair! So, I originally came in for a balayage last Wednesday with Diana. It actually turned out quite pretty, but it was just way blonder and lighter than what I had asked for. She said she could do a gloss to make it less blonde since I had asked for light brown, so when I came in she was able to do that. However, the gloss got rid of all the blonde in my hair and made it a very dark and ashy, almost green undertone and it feels a lot more damaged than before. I came in to the salon first with darker brown hair but some lighter pieces and now I have dark hair but its all dark and even worse than when I came in. I'm just kind of disappointed since I ended up paying for a full balayage and when I hoped to have the color adjusted from a blonde to a LIGHT BROWN, it still ended up being even worse. At least with the blonde it didn't feel as damaged and it blended nicely even if it wasn't the shade I hoped for. I'm not sure what to do now because it has been 4 days since I got the gloss and 6 days since the original balayage, so I don't know if they will offer help since it does not particularly follow their policy. read more

Went here for the first time today and loved it! Place is lovely, great decor, accents, lavender diffusers, etc. I couldn't stop looking at every detail from the chairs to the chandeliers. Was a very calm and relaxing atmosphere. I went to see my long time color expert, Dimika, who is AMAZING! I lost track of her after she left Gene Juarez where I had been seeing her for years. I am just absolutely thrilled to have reunited with her! As always, she did a fabulous job with my color and cut. I'm so happy! Service was great. I went to Larissa Sofia to get my haircut and color before my 50th birthday a couple of weeks ago. It was one of the best presents I got!! The haircut was perfect, and the colors were vibrant, bright, and sassy :) Diana did an amazing job, and I will definitely be going back. I cannot speak highly enough of David Hewitt and Larissa Sophia Salon. Since meeting David five years ago I've followed him to three different salons, and he's been the only stylist and colorist I've trusted with my hair. With David's expertise he took me from blue-black to blonde in a single day without inflicting major damage on my hair. In previous attempts to go back to blonde from a darker color, I've found this process can be extremely difficult to pull off, and often times can do significant harm to the hair. I was hesitant to go back to blonde knowing the risk, but with David the change went more smoothly than I ever could have imagined. My most recent visit with David at Larissa Sophia Salon was a true delight. From start to finish their friendly staff made me feel welcome and cared for. The atmosphere is light and fun, and you can tell the stylists truly love what they do. The salon itself is absolutely stunning. Every detail is meticulously designed to create a beautiful glowing space. The crystal chandeliers give the feeling of being in a fancy jewelry box, and you won't want to get off of the lilac colored velvet couch once you've sat down. In addition, even living in Seattle their location is convenient for me. In rush hour traffic on a Friday I was able to make it to my appointment in 30 minutes. Once off the freeway, they are just a quick five minutes up the hill. My appointment with David was scheduled to discuss my hairstyle and color for my upcoming wedding in August. I knew I wanted to be a lighter, more natural shade of blonde but I didn't know exactly what I wanted or what would look best with my coloring. What I love about having worked with David so much in the past is he knows both me and my style, and my hair very well. With minimal input on my part he crafted a look that I absolutely adore. The combination of a full foil and shade roots looks both bright and natural. The natural color of my hair and the highlights blend together beautifully. After a cut, blow dry, and quick style I could hardly believe how fantastic I looked. The end product was even more perfect than I could ever imagine. I've gotten countless compliments since my appointment and my hair is so soft I can't stop touching it! I highly suggest scheduling an appointment with David if you are thinking about any type of color transition. His artistry with color is impressive and his attention to detail is unwavering. We have done everything from foil highlighting, balayage highlights, all over colors and back to highlights. The integrity of hair is very important to her as well.
