Simply put, Karla Soto is the best.  She is the most thoughtful and conscientious stylist I could ever imagine.  Since she started doing my hair, I've never wanted to see anyone else!  She keeps my dull hair (and grays) covered perfectly, even though it means having to mix slightly different colors to make sure that even the more stubborn area gets the coverage it needs.  Blonde can be difficult, but all the base shades and highlights we've ever tried out have looked so natural because she's fantastic at doing color and extremely knowledgeable about it.  Not only that, I love my haircuts.  I have crazy areas with cowlicks, and she always takes the time to custom cut each area, based on its special needs.  I also get my eyebrow waxes from Karla, and she has the lightest and most careful touch around my eyes and does multiple checks to make sure my brows are perfectly even.  When she styles me, my hair is always shiny and beautiful, and I feel like I'm walking on air.  And if all this weren't enough, she is the sweetest and most pleasant person to spend a few hours with. read more

I had my hair cut by Martha and I thought she did a great job! I have long curly hair so its important to have a hair dresser that checked to make sure the cut is even otherwise its super obvious when i wear it curely. She kept checking in with me to make sure the cut is what I wanted. I thought her prices were very reasonable and she mentioned she pretty much does all services from perms to blondes. She's fast but not rushed and best of all she didn't try selling me a bunch of overpriced products, I'll be back! read more

I have been going to 5th Avenue Salon ever since Michelle Allen moved there from Fall City. She has been cutting/coloring my hair for several years. I love the salon for the atmosphere, location, decor and setting. It is great being right next to the Issaquah creek- lots of wildlife to see. Michelle is great. Consistent and thorough. Her prices are very reasonable too. I have never had someone use as many foils in my hair as she does... I even asked her once recently to look at my hair after I'd had it done because I wasn't really liking my cut. It had nothing to do with what she did- I just wasn't happy. She talked to me about what I didn't like, re-cut it and didn't charge me. She really tries to make sure her clients are always happy. read more

I have been going to 5th Avenue Salon now for a couple years, because Mona is the stylist there. I followed her from another salon, because she is an amazing hair colorist. She got my long hair back in shape, after being damaged by another salon, She uses really nice products that are healthy for my hair. I get tons of compliments on my hair color, blond with a few streaks of low lights that look really natural. The salon itself is a very nice location overlooking a stream, where you see ducks and an occasional deer, while you are sitting in the chair for your hair treatment. They provide complimentary tea, coffee or wine. read more

I contacted Mona Coleman to cut my hair one time while I was staying in Issaquah for six months. Mona was recommended to me by my regular hair stylist. Mona cut my hair EXACTLY the same way as my regular hair stylist, and I was pleased. If I were a permanent resident of Issaquah, I would probably keep going to her. Cost me $55 for cut and styling, which to me is pricey, but it seems about average. read more

I started going to Mona in September to fix my hair color for my wedding day (which is only a few days away now, in February!). I had been getting a lot of highlighting done and I looked like I just had done a total overall bleach on my hair. Mona has done my color 3 times now, and I look much more natural, with highlights and lowlights and it is in great shape, very healthy, no longer damaged-looking. The hair around my face used to look like I had a dead animal on my head, but she's fixed that, too. Definitely recommend her. read more

I was lucky enough to discover 5th Avenue Salon when I moved to Issaquah two years ago. I have always had a difficult time finding a stylist that could successfully manage my extremely thick, long, curly hair. Sherry cut and colored my hair and I walked out the door with the best hair style I've had in my life. I continued to see Sherry until my hair began falling out in handfuls nine months ago due to an autoimmune disease and I was forced to wear wigs. The first wig I purchased was custom-made and was, therefore, VERY expensive. Unfortunately, it quickly found it's way into a drawer because it just didn't feel like me. Yesterday I got an invite to an important meeting and I simply cannot show up "rocking" one of my synthetic wigs. I stopped by 5th Avenue Salon this morning (unannounced), with custom made-wig in hand and asked Sherry if I could make an appointment to see if she could do anything to make the wig wearable. She immediately sat me down, gave me some suggestions and then proceeded to work her magic. The result was perfection. I recommend Sherry not only because she's a highly skilled stylist/colorist, but because her customer service is unsurpassed. read more
