At any rate, we opted to go inside and check it out since it was our first visit. They have a few instagramable spots inside, and a small bit of seating. The staff were friendly and patient as we decided what to get. In the end, my "Kinda Dirty Mango Tango" refresher was a little boring. My husband enjoyed his "Thirst Trap" energy drink but it was nothing life-changing. I wish they had more indicators if the sodas had diet options, and I know this is niche but I wish they had more decaffeinated options (like I love root beer but don't want Barqs at 3pm). The staffer handed us our drinks and said "see you tomorrow!" which was cute. But as we live in Durham, we likely won't be back soon.

This location even has a convenient drive-thru. I was immediately greeted upon entering the store. A car pulled up to the drive-thru just as I entered, so I told her to take care of it while I decided what to get. I have a hard time deciding when there are so many good options. I ended up going with Pina Means Pineapple dirty soda, which contained pineapple, strawberry, vanilla and pina colada puree. I enjoyed it and look forward to trying some of the other creative combinations.

We looked at Yelp to determine other possible options. We were ultimately going west, and we saw Purple Spoon had high reviews for Acai Bowls. We rarely eat Acai Bowls; so it's kind of a treat on a trip. Due to being denied the water on our 1st lunch attempt, before we ordered food, I asked can get courtesy cups of water before we ordered. She said yes. Then, I asked about the menu, sizes. S stands for sharable. My girlfriend & I decided it's a better value to share, which we can agree on something. I asked what the most popular ones are, which she said was the Purple Bowl & Pistachio Crush. Their namesake Purple Bowl was pretty standard Acai, strawberries, blueberries, granola, & honey drizzle. The Pistachio Crush has Acai, strawberries, crush pistachios, granola, & pistachio butter. The only thing the Purple had this one didn't was blueberries. While I would've liked blueberries, we felt Pistachio Crush would hit more marks overall for like $1.50 more. Wow, this is the single best Acai bowl I've ever had! There's a chain we really like in Maryland, which looks like exists in North Carolina including not far from here across the street from NC State. Purple Spoon is just this one location across the street from lesser known Meredith College. The bowl was big to split and very flavorful. Staff was very nice too. Whenever on a trip somewhere, there's winners & losers for restaurants. For winners, I'm like I wish we had that back home. That's where Purple Spoon falls. But I also said if we had everything back home like Purple Spoon, then it wouldn't make the local places we try special.
