This place has the best tacos de guisados in town. You won't find the best trompo, the best carnitas or even the best birria here because that's not what this spot is. This is a place that specializes in one of the most underrated types of taco both north and south of the border: el taco de guisados or stewed meat tacos. These kind of tacos are amazing because there are so many different variations of guisados that can be made at one time and offered at this cafeteria style order line. Just like back in Mexico, you'll find something for everyone. Breakfast tacos, lunch tacos, even some mole tacos if you want to live on the wild side. However, I'd like to personally highlight the tacos that I consider ELITE from this gem: 1) the chicharrón en salsa verde. The chicharrones in this are super soft, the salsa verde is very flavorful and it packs a punch of spice. Absolutely delightful. 2) the carne guisada. Probably their most popular option since it practically sells out before 12 noon. The meat is tender and the "gravy" tastes like home, top tier comfort food. 3) the asado de puerco. Delicious pork in a great red sauce, not too spicy but packed with flavor. 4) the regular fajita. When this comes out fresh, you might not need anything else. It's simple, seasoned tender fajita that rivals what you make at home on the weekend. 5) the salchicha. *pause*. Thinly sliced sausage with soft sautéed onions and sliced bell peppers. I got this once because they were running low on options and thought I was settling for a random taco but the second I took a bite, I wished I had ordered 2 more. Also, the red salsa is good but the green salsa is incredible. Be warned though, don't put too much on the taco bc it WILL get you sweating if you over do it. It's tolerable if you moderate how much you put on it but try the salsa first before you go buck wild on your taco with it. Also pt 2, ALWAYS get the flour tortillas and ALWAYS get some refried beans on it. It just adds that much more flavor to the taco. Last thing, their lemonade is pretty delicious and I tried their arroz con leche and it was solid, too. read more

Been a huge fan of this place probably 2 decades now always good, always consistent. Over the last few months or so I've noticed something is a little different, it seems the tortilla masa is different, not as soft. And the red salsa seems off. The barbacoa quality isn't the same as some other hot plate dishes. I'm still leaving a five star review for the many years of good tacos and I've never left a review. I will of course still give them the benefit of the doubt and will update review later. read more

Stumbled onto this place while working in the area. 10:30am and they had about 10 people in line. I saw that as a good sign that this place might be good. I had 2 tacos 3$ each. Carne guisada and one picadillo, both with beans. Line moved fast. Really good flavor on the tacos, sauce had good heat and flavor. When you need a taco stat, this place gots what you need. Lost one star due to the place not being very inviting, parking sucks, and not as much variety as I would have liked. Also kind of got grossed out by the guy working the register, has the most disgusting nose ring(s). Not a good sight to have him hand you your food. read more

I recently had the pleasure of dining at a local taco restaurant and I must say, I was thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with a warm smile and friendly hellos from the staff and Mexican music playing in the background. Now onto the tacos - they were simply amazing! The tortillas were freshly made and the fillings were bursting with flavor. I tried a variety of tacos, including carne asada, al pastor, and each one was delicious in its own right. I especially loved the beans/cheese and green salsa. which really elevated the flavor profile of my taco. But what really stood out to me was the level of service provided by the employees. They were attentive, knowledgeable. The boy with the rockin mullet made great recommendations, checked in on me frequently, and even offered to refill my drink without me having to ask. I truly felt like a valued customer and it made my visit all the more enjoyable. Overall, I highly recommend this taco restaurant to anyone looking for great food and fantastic service. The employees are truly the heart and soul of the establishment, and they made my meal one to remember. I will definitely be returning soon! read more

I recently visited taqueria Laredo on PATTON and had one of the best tacos I've ever tasted. The taco was filled with perfectly seasoned and juicy FAJITA WITH BEANS AND CHEESE. The tortilla was warm and soft, with just the right amount of chewiness. What really set this taco apart was the balance of flavors and textures. The FAJITA was savory and spicy when I drenched my taco with their GREEN SAUCE. The hot beans provided a creamy richness that melted the cheese in my taco. Each bite was a mouthful of deliciousness, and I found myself savoring every last morsel. Overall, I would highly recommend this taco place LAREDO TAQUERIA ON PATTON to anyone looking for a delicious and satisfying meal. It was the perfect combination of flavors and textures, and left me feeling happy and full. P.s EAT 3 or 4 fajita tacos w beans and cheese and 1 large horchata or lemonade. HORRIBLE. The fact that I've been coming here since before this specific location was popular. I remember when they had trash tacos and now they have trash service and even trashier manager, I let the manager know that I'll be coming back for my food because I forgot my wallet. What person orders more than three tacos and doesn't come back for it clearly. She tells me that she sold my food after waiting in line twice catches an attitude when I'm in the right. I just feel embarrassed for the manager because I would never eat here again. A shame to our people. It's people like her that make us look uneducated and can't run a business without catching an attitude with the customer about something sooooo simple. But because she'd rather kick a disabled homeless woman out and not pay attention to what I'm telling her, she catches an attitude with me. P.s thanks for hanging up on me too really serves my point read more

Still some of the best breakfast tacos on the north side of Houston. Consistently fresh and delicious tacos. One of the few places we've found that serves excellent fideo soup. We also love the Mexican cokes and Frescas read more

Northside Texas legends of tacos! 5 Star all the way. I grew up in the Northside area then lived in the heights fo years. I drive l the way from champion forest for these amazing tacos! We don't have anything close to these tacos where I live. Northside classic! To the lady that left a one star review talking about growing with the community sunset heights or whatever. Wtf does that have to do with tacos. Anyway. The tacos here are absolutely amazing. If you want some really good tacos come here. I've been eating here and the on on Washington and Cavalcade for 18 years or more. Never had a bad meal or bad customer service so not sure why people that left one star said that. Tacos are so good! Food: fajita is always so tender. My go to tacos are anything breakfast. Carne guisada, spicy sausage, spicy potato. I mean you cannot go wrong. Pick whichever ones you think you may like and you will not be disappointed. The green sauce is so good! Once again I've eaten at all of their locations and I absolutely love their tacos. Keep up the good work Laredo Taco. read more

Best tacos in Houston hands down and the cashier very handsome and friendly best customer service will definitely return soon definit

It's a very small restaurant but their tacos are so very good and the prices are so reasonable everything is homemade even their flour tortillas I could eat a dozen tacos but I would probably explode I highly recommend this place read more

Can't go wrong with a flour tortilla with fajita and a smear of pinto beans. There red salsa is spicy although the green has more flavor. They have decent prices so when in town I try to stop by as they have fast service to get you in and out read more

They have good service and good tacos and home made flour tortillas and the beans are home made also.

Bring your Spanish to this delicious counter-service taqueria just off the Red Line between the Moody Park and Cavalcade stations, English is not the official language here. ;) I got the beef fajita, chile verde de puerco, and huevo con papa, all with refritos on house-made flour tortillas, the good ones with that dusting of flour from getting rolled out. The eggs were good, the pork was average, but what alleged to be beef fajita was actually brisket that was just top notch. Tender, with all the fat rendered, and just a hint of caramelized soy flavor. Truly exceptional, and I'll be back just for that. Service was fast and friendly, decor was typical divey taqueria but everything was spotless. The place was more than half full at lunchtime, and everyone seemed to be enjoying their food. The staff in particular all seemed to be in a good mood. Overall a great experience, and I'm glad I hopped off the train to try it! read more

Some of the best tacos I've ever had! Very authentic Mexican! My new favorite spot!Breakfast Tacos

Disgusting place to come here i came here with my mom and her friend, on my mom taco their was a screw in it she almost choked in it i don't recommend this place its so horrible and the service its so bad they have a horrible attitude we ask for the owner number and the lady in the front was been a dick. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast taco spots in the city, for good reason. I think it may get the least business of all 3 locations of Laredo, but it is very close to my favorite thrift store too, so I hit them both on the same morning. My typical order is a spicy beef fajita taco (flour), picadillo (flour), barbacoa (flour) and a large melon agua fresca. It's $8, they include tax in their prices. The homemade tortillas are some of the best in the city. I recommend visiting during breakfast or lunch when they are busy, the food is hot fresh and tortillas are continuously being made in front of you. If you visit during dinner, you are likely to get tortillas left over from the lunch service. read more

The barbacoa taco is amazing!! It's just so good that I keep craving it. We tried Taqueria Laredo because of the Texas Monthly article that recommended the spicy chicken taco, which was good, but the barbecoa taco stole the show. And the tortillas were fresh and fantastic. I also tried the egg and chorizo but thought it was a little dry--my friend had the egg and chorizo taco with refried beans, and it was definitely better that way. And at $2 per taco, it's a good deal for lunch. The only downside is that the line is a bit long. read more

This part of town really has a good amount of Mexican restaurants in the area, so its really not that hard to find a good one, but this place just has that better feel to it. The place is very clean, but since i've only been here once, I really can't give it more than 3 stars. I can say that the food was very tasty, but their salsa needs to be way more hot! read more

Really clean and they have awesome people working there . The fideo is on point . Don't forget to get breakfast, great prices and delicious flavors. read more

Tacos just got real, yo! A good friend of mine lives a few blocks from here and introduced me to this TL location several years ago and I'm so glad she did! The tortillas are light, pliable, and delicious! They're perfect for cradling delicious pappas, frijoles, and huevos... or whatever you like in your tacos. I obviously like breakfast tacos. It's a cafeteria type setup. Walk down the hot tray aisle and tell the lady what you want in your taco. They have nopales, barbacoa, tripas, and other nasty bits that I enjoy. I've never been to the Washington location but I can definitely recommend this location! It's in a slightly sketchy area ... so you know it's good. read more

YUMMO!!!! I dropped in for a quick lunch. The ladies were really sweet. I tried the spicy fajita & puerco verde..both were super yummy!!! The tortillas are handmade & fresh. I asked for beans on my tacos & it added great flavor. I liked the red salsa just a lil more than the green, but both were good. Service was very quick & ya can't beat the price!! Also ordered a lemonade which was perfect! I will be coming back for sure to try their other items. read more

I've been here for breakfast tacos three times. They've been missing key ingredients EVERY single time. Potatoes and cheese were out one day. Then bacon, sausage, and potatoes are all out. All before Noon. There's also a really long wait every time I've been. read more

This is the absolute best taco in town!! Prepare to stand in a line but know it well worth the wait. The spicy sausage is my favorite taco but you can NEVER go wrong with their fajita taco. While your there try a delicious Coke from Mexico made with read sugar!! Heck get two! read more

Disgusting doesn't say enough. What worries me the most is hygiene. I have lived in Sunset Heights for years so at first I was thinking that he needed time to grow a profit and he would eventually grow with the community to make these changes. First and worst for me is the restroom it right there by the line to where the food is prepared not to mention that every sound can be heard while you wait. The sink is right next to it, out of the restroom. Sometimes the smell if gross if someone just used it. Not very appetizing. You also see folks not wash their hands. Secondly the salsa. It's not covered it sits on top of the counter in huge bowls where every one can scoop it out as they take their orders to go. Can you imagine all the hands that touch those ladles? Third the dust. Crazy decor but hey so other restaurants have it as well. It's dusty. That means all those dust particles are flying around. He just needs to stop being so cheap and remodel both of his locations. Washington but especially the one on Paton. Food is okay, sometimes you get chunks of fat that get thrown in there with the meats. Cooked in a hurry or don't bother to clean/cut. Tortillas are hit or miss. At times they are fresh and. It floury. Other you can feel the powder of the floor still on them when they are served. read more

First time to this place and I was received with bad service, the lady taking the orders had a bad attitude and ignoring my order. Maybe she needs to work in the back away from customers and they need to put a friendly customer oriented employee. read more

This place reminds me of subway but in the taco version. You go in and form a line then when your in front of the glass you can see all the meats available then they pull out a tortilla and they ask you what would you like. I go there in the morning for breakfast ... its perty good not bad at all. and cheap. The place is grate and clean. Very authentic Mexican food! Witch is a plus! read more

Disappointed at this location today. Tortillas are not homemade like Calvacade location. Not coming back. I'll stick to Calvacade lication.

My favorite of all the Laredo operations / locations. Deep in the hood, and the flavor is for real. The tortillas are excellent and you really can't go wrong with the choices of fillings. My fav is the pork in red sauce, but I always balance it out with a barbacoa and / or the chicharron. The salsa's are as close to perfect as you can get. Good food fast and worth the money. Always a good combination. read more

So I came to this place to get tacos based on a recommendation from a friend. The beef fajita looked so good in the pan so I ordered 2 for here and one togo, in addition I ordered menudo togo. I enjoyed the taco, but will exclude the beans next time. After the menudo cooled down I was able to enjoy it a little better with the addition of salt onions and cilantro. As I was eating it, I got to an unsavory part. The foot... dony put no damn foot in my food. This should be by request only I feel. After the foot was taken out, I was left with mostly hominy and the liquid. I mentioned this to them and they all started speaking Spanish laughing saying it is Mexican menudo.. I let her know that I am well aware of what menudo is but the protein that someone expects is tripe. They didn't want to talk about it anymore so they just gave me my money back and took the cup of menudo. This was offensive at first but in the end I'm glad they did. There menudo is just not my type of menudo. This one was too oily and bland. I like menudo without all the oil and more savory flavors. Now with my money I got back, I'm going back in line to order 2 more tacos togo! read more

Taqueria Laredo had the best authentic tacos i think I've had. The service was very friendly and although I was warned about a long line I got in and out in a couple of minutes. I'll be back next time I'm in Houston. read more

Excellent service and very tasty tacos. I park at the Loves not too far and walk a short distance for the best food. Tortillas are fresh hand made. Meats are cooked and seasoned to perfection. I've eaten at all locations, but this one is my favorite! It's so close to home, food never disappoints, and it's never packed like the one on Washington or Cavalcade. Well maybe in the mornings it is, not sure. I always go for lunch or after. I prob eat here about once a week. The one thing I'm not crazy for is their soup, so I just stick to the tacos and it's all good. read more

The food is great but their service does not reflect the hard work that happens in the kitchen. The line is long, the customers know that, so the ladies at the line should know that too. The lady gave me an attitude when I added to my order, because I had a large order of 9 tacos and had to add my the different tacos I wanted. If you don't have time to be rushed thru your order reconsider coming to this place, or come prepared with your order. The food is good but the service is not, no smiles. read more
