In store buyer beware! I recently bought a dress in the store, they were happy to ship it to me so I didn't have to pack it. The sales associate NEVER informed me that if I purchased the dress in the store that it's not returnable, she even said to me "I can return this dress if you change your mind". After receiving the dress, it was ordered in the wrong size and is way too big and will be a difficult dress to alter because of the beadwork. I contacted Lara about returning the dress, they informed me about the return policy and have cut off all communication with me, they won't even answer my calls! I am stuck with a $1000.00 dress that is way too big and feel that what was a great experience is now tarnished and I will never go back or even buy this brand again! read more

Good selection of dresses. Range from $200 and up. They sell dresses whole sale, no tailoring on site. Make an appointment to try on three dresses. Got a lovely red number from here that we will tailor somewhere else. Everything is heavily beaded and sequinned. Mostly floor length dresses. read more

I had expected more of a personalized boutique experience instead of a showroom atmosphere. Certainly had a lot to look at. Most were heavily beaded dresses. If you like this brand, a good place to look as everything they have is there for you. Not much in the way of customer service. It's more of a serve yourself. But staff was quite pleasant. read more

Modest- yes, great selection - yes Different sizes in stock - yes Try it on - yes *** if you purchase 1st... which was the reason why I was there anyway and I wasn't going to leave without a dress with my son's wedding 3 days away! - The dresses were organized with sleeves on one side and without on the other. Lara dresses are beautiful and made well. The compliments were endless - so happy I made the trip here. Lauren was very helpful is assisting in the selection & purchase! Was quite surprised at the shop, beings it was in NY and listed as a "designer" shop., certainly was expecting more. The dresses were beautiful but a little too much, as far as style, for me. I went up to decide between a Lara dress and a Madeline Gardner dress (which was elsewhere). I tried on the Lara dress and loved it but thought it was too over the top (too ornate). The salesgirl was very sweet and very helpful, just surprised that since I spoke with three people beforehand and made the appointment, they would have had the specific dress ready for me to try on, knowing I just wanted to look/try-on that particular dress. They had to go look for it in storage. What shocked me the most was the try-on/changing area. With the dress prices and the fact it is billed as "their only brick and mortar store", I thought it would have been a tad nicer. It was literally a room with a shower pole and curtains over the door. All in all, a good day visiting NY - even though I left with out a dress. read more

I purchased a Lara dress for my daughters wedding a few weeks ago, the dress was beautiful I loved the way it looked and fit. I only needed a hem because of the length. The day of my daughters wedding the beading started to fall off in many spots, in all the areas missing beads there were strings hanging off. The quality of the dress is terrible, I was so disappointed that I had to make sure when I took family photos I had to hide the damaged areas. I have been emailing the company since 10/3/22 and I still have not received any response to my complaint. I reached out on Instagram and received a reply that they are not responsible because "the dress was shipped new", I purchased the dress new. This company does not stand behind their products so please think again before dropping the high price they charge for a dress that may fall apart. read more

I went here looking for a prom dress, and was told that in order to try it on I had to pay for it and then get a refund if the dress didn't fit. I wish I could give a zero star review. I purchased from their online store. The quality on the mesh was absolutely horrible on the arms. It literally ripped like paper for doing normal activities like eating, hugging, or knocking on a door. I only altered the length on the dress. I only tried it on once for alterations and it ripped at the wedding. It ruined my whole night. I had to attempt to hide it covering the design of the dress and it made me look weird. It ruined happy memories for me. They absolutely had no remorse or no solutions. I deserve a full refund! read more

I was 100% dissatisfied with the Lara 33277 Laced Illusion Bateau mother of the bride evening gown. The dress didn't look anything like the catalog picture! It was made very CHEAPLY for the price ($498). The picture shows a gray/silver dress with a light pink lining. I Chatted online to ask the true color of the lining and they said it was a light purple. When the dress arrived, it was made of cheap tulle usually used to LINE a dress and not a more expensive, sturdy material to appear on the outside - with some appliques sewn on top. The slip was beige - not pink or purple as they stated. It did not match the gray tulle and was made of lining material. It was cheap and ugly, as if you're merely wearing a slip/undergarment with tulle lining on tip. The bottom of the dress was not finished at all - no hem, it was cut sloppily, jaggedly and unevenly all around. I returned the dress immediately. Although they misrepresented the dress I got a refund MINUS $30 postage both ways, so I lost $30 to try on a piece of garbage. I will never buy a Lara dress again. read more

I received horrible service here. The sales woman was extremely rude and followed me around like she was afraid I would damage her gowns. I found one gown that I loved but I decided to leave it because she wouldn't allow me to try it on and here were no returns/ exchanges. (The gown was clearly mislabeled - much smaller than the size posted.) Good selection, but I prefer to patronize stores that know what costumer service is. read more
