The only weird thing is a very large window in the bathroom into the bedroom that makes privacy and lighting very annoying. If you turn the light on in the bathroom it lights up the whole bedroom. There is no way to effectively block it. There is a shade but it doesn't block the light or privacy either

We were so excited and booked a garden deluxe room at over $500 a night. When we arrived, the room looked nothing like the pictures. The pictures have a lovely blue and green updated room as the garden deluxe. Our room was old and red and yellow. It is incredibly dated with the exception of the bathroom which appears to be renovated. The carpet is incredibly worn and there is no hvac. Your only option is opening the windows but then you have all the outside noise coming in. When we checked the bed upon arriving at our room we found the bed was completely covered in urine stains. The front desk thankfully promptly replaced our mattress but at $500 a night I would have expected this mattress to be out of circulation long before or housekeeping to catch this. The room was pretty dusty as well. I went to pick up the fan to set it up and my black outfit got completely covered in dust from it. The redemption was all the service we received was prompt and super helpful and they made it right with a new mattress. The breakfast included each day was robust and delicious. Overall, not a bad stay, but it was not worth the premium price they charge.

From 9:30-11 they have traditional irish music and then from 11;30-2 they have irish rock. This is really just "pop/american radio music" with a twist. It is good and worth a visit. Hotel is very busy with tours and golfers making up most of the guests it appears. Well decorated and very comfortable area around the hotel to read a book or sit by the fireplace. We had what we were told a 'smart' room but we're still trying to figure out what was smart about it. The lights are controlled by either a wall pad or pads at the bedside. Problem is that there doesn't seem to be a way to just have bathroom lights on without the bedroom lights bring on as well. Looks like you could turn off the bed lights bring which would take it off the 'smart' pads and the lamp switches are not easily accessible if you have to access them again. Our other issue was with the 'smart' tv. Turning on the tv the hotel's information screen would come on. Selecting the tv option gets you the tv which is where the problem starts. Hitting the Guide button, which on other tvs, gets you a list of channels and what shows are on. Pressing this one takes you back to the hotel screen. Going back into the tv you find that you'll see each tv station available and in order to know what's on you need to look at each channel separately. Not a pleasant experience. Jack, our porter who was very helpful providing information about the hotel, tried to figure out what was going on but couldn't. Another porter also tried to help but again was stumped. Reported the issue at the reception desk. Was told they would have someone look at it. Came back in the afternoon to find the tv on and thought the problem was fixed (no notes left telling us what happened) but nothing was changed. Reported it again, was told someone would look at but again nothing. Should also mention when we first arrived at the room it appeared the room had not been vacuumed. Same thing the next day so that had to be reported as well. Rating is given because of the lack of interest or concern of the staff about the problems that we were having. Lovely hotel, very comfortable, good food but if the staff commitment isn't there that just detracts from the experience.

I don't know if I've ever been to a pool area like that where you couldn't sit and relax with a book. I went to the little coffee shop restaurant a couple times to get something quick for breakfast. There's also a grocery store very close. Overall, I would stay here again.

Their dinner menu was excellent! From their dinner menu, I started with the Bacon and Pear Salad. This salad is slices of caramelized William pear, cubes of creamy Feta cheese, crisp bacon, all lightly dressed in Irish honey & wholegrain mustard vinaigrette. This was a delicious starter before the main course, the vinaigrette was excellent! For dinner, I went with the Hannigan's Classic Beef Burger, which is prime Irish beef topped with smoked cheddar cheese, Irish bacon, on homemade pickled cucumber, lettuce, and tangy relish, served with a side of French Fries. This burger was great, cooked perfectly and the Irish bacon on top along with the tangy relish elevated this burger. For dessert, I went with the Bread & Butter Pudding with vanilla ice cream & Anglaise sauce. This was so good; the vanilla ice cream was incredibly creamy and the sauce on the bread pudding sets it apart from others I've had before!

We booked a twin room for 3 nights but I accidentally put down 1 guest instead of two (no price difference, just an accidental oversight). On night 2 we came back from a wedding at 4.30am ready for a night's sleep and recovery. The night porter Afrim was nasty and aggressive to both of us, saying that since we had only mentioned 1 person on the booking, only I could come in. He refused to let us go up to the room we had paid for and had our bags in, and was insulting to my girlfriend and suggested she walk the streets for a few hours till the day staff arrived. He continued to escalate and got verbally aggressive. Eventually we had to leave and walk through Killarney at 5am desperately trying to find a hotel, which was really unsafe. The next day the hotel manager couldn't care less about our issues. She claimed that she couldn't see the security videos to confirm the night porter's aggressive behavior, and refused to refund the payment for the previous night despite us not being allowed to use the room. I asked to speak to the general manager and was told she would call the next day - it's been two weeks, and I've had no contact and no refund for the night we were excluded. Steer well clear of this hotel unless you enjoy being treated like dirt...

The hosts were exceptionally friendly and accomodating and offered great tips for where to go while in the area that worked into our plans very well. The breakfast was awesome and the room we had was very comfortable. No complaints at all about this wonderful B&B. If we are ever in the area again, we will certainly stay here once more and hopefully for longer next time.

Very nice to have pet of our stay feel like we were on the countryside. This place is a 10min drive to the town nearby where you can shop and eat!
