Meat filling was seasoned well and perfect salt level (not salty and still savory)

It was slow tonight when I came in so the service was prompt and the man behind the counter was very friendly and asked several questions I had about the menu and about halal food in general. He taught me a few new things about middle eastern food and he was very helpful in that regard. I ordered the gyro plate and at the last minute decided to just eat in rather than take-out. So, I had a seat and the man at the counter brought out a very delicious chicken and corn chowder which was an unexpected surprise and I really enjoyed it greatly. Then, as I finished the soup, he brought out the gyro plate which was stacked generously with rice, meat, sauce with lettuce, tomato and onions. The meat was delicious, the Greek tzatziki cucumber sauce was very good also. Overall, for a very reasonable cost of about $15 I had a very satisfying meal that I struggled to even finish. Very good value. I will return with the family and I can recommend Darya to anyone looking for a meal! I did notice some very negative reviews, and I suspect that this could be related to cultural misunderstandings perhaps? English is clearly not the first language for the people running this restaurant so I think it's important to understand that perhaps it's a good policy to level expectations to that fact.

Everything works well together, from the flavorful meat and rice to the crisp salads. The service is good, and the atmosphere is comfortable for a casual lunch or dinner. My protein of choice is usually beef but their version has lamb and BADEMJAN (eggplant) in place of fried potato sticks. It's a comforting stew combining tomatoes, yellow split peas, dried Persian limes and an aromatic mix of spices. My mouth was in heaven! Our appetizers were a delicious KASHK O BEDEMJAN served with pita and a generously gifted farm fresh house salad. Mom chose their incredible LAMB SHANK BAGHALI POLO. Tender fall-off-the-bone lamb paired with a richly herbed fava bean rice and a side of braised broth with more fava beans. My mom was in love! My brother enjoyed his delicious LAMB BARG which is grilled filet slices paired with herby fava bean rice (baghali polow sub). Everything is crafted in house by a remarkable, hardworking husband & wife duo--he cooks, she serves! They visit the local farmers market every week for ingredients and it shows in every dish. Portions are generous and can be shared. I noticed they have a lunch specials board on their sidewalk that I will need to try. The food alone will bring you in, but the couple's warmth & hospitality will keep you coming back.

I searched for Mediterranean and Middle Eastern restaurants, and among the many options, Persian Kabab & Grill immediately caught our attention--especially because of the wonderful reviews. From the moment we walked through the door, we were warmly welcomed by Amir, the chef, and his wife, Nargis. They were both genuinely kind, gracious, and welcoming, and they represented their Persian heritage and cuisine with tremendous pride and hospitality. We ordered quite a variety of dishes, including the Persian Hearty Green Herb Soup, Green Salad, Okra Stew, Chicken Koobideh, Chicken & Beef Combo, along with rice, Naan, and Persian bread. Everything arrived hot, fresh, and beautifully prepared. It was obvious that each dish was made to order, with care and attention to detail--and most importantly, with love. One unexpected standout was Amir's homemade spicy Thousand Island sauce. It was absolutely delicious! I even joked with Amir that his sauce was so good, "You could put it on an old leather shoe and it would probably taste great!" That should give you some indication of just how much we enjoyed it. Beyond the food, however, what truly made the evening special was the hospitality. Amir and Nargis are incredibly hardworking, genuine, and gracious people who clearly care about their customers and take great pride in sharing their food and culture with others. We left with full stomachs, happy taste buds, and an even greater appreciation for Persian cuisine and the people behind it. Persian Kabab & Grill is definitely a place we'll be returning to soon.
