The first step was an intramuscular injection to sedate him. She suggested I feed him to distract him, so I gave him some meatloaf and he didn't feel a thing. Rocky was able to walk to the bedroom, then Dr. Abby gently picked him up and placed him on the bed...in a short time he was sleeping on his side comfortably. We were able to love and pet him for a while. I know he did not feel any pain when the final medication was injected, he just passed away quietly. It is always a difficult decision to euthanize the pets we love, but Dr Abby was so caring and compasionate I know that I made the right decision.

If x-rays, etc. are necessary she is happy to recommend other local vets to have those tests done.

After 16 years, it was time for us to say goodbye to our beloved Biscuit. He had a malignant tumor and, after trying every available therapy, it was clear that his condition was terminal. We called Lap of Love and they were responsive, kind, understanding and thoughtful. They made the process of saying goodbye about saying goodbye and about doing what was best for our canine friend. Communication was excellent and the hospice veterinarian who came to our home was loving and empathetic. Most importantly, she reinforced that we were doing the right thing at the right time, in Biscuit's best interests. Lap of Love made it possible for us to focus on our dog's happiness and comfort during the final weeks of his life, and for us to focus on our own grief now that he has left us.
