My wife had some general ideas of things she had seen in magazines and on TV, but we really didn't know where to start or what steps to take. My main concern was finding/scheduling the right people to do the work, once we decided what we wanted to do. That's when we went to the Indianapolis Home Show and found the Harmony Homes booth and met Marcie. The booth was decorated with the "right" feel that immediately attracted my wife to their vibe. A few weeks after that encounter we were contacted based on our visit with them at the home show. We set up our initial appointment and started the process of defining our project and getting their expertise and advice to guide us through the journey. After meeting with Michelle and Sydney a half dozen times over a few month period the picture started coming into view as they provided renderings and suggestions as to features we might want to include. When they suggested something that we didn't think was the right fit, there were no egos or hurt feelings, they just continued to try find what we were happy with, even though we may have changed our minds several times. As the project continued to take shape it grew as we saw the possibilities and "The Girls" always were eager to go with the flow and accommodate our needs and desires. Once the work physically started on the house the scheduling and workmanship was as smooth as could be. Communication was always open and if we had any questions all we had to do was text or call and they were always available in short order. They provided at least weekly visits on site during the renovation, more if needed. Once the work had completed our renovation consisted of: - Installing / re-finishing hardwood floors in 3 bedrooms, living room, kitchen, nook and walk-in closets - Installing a porcelain tile floor in the dining room, with a hardwood border - Removing carpet from the stairway and installing hardwood tread and risers and replacing the hand rail and installing Iron balusters. - Painting 7 rooms, walk-in closets and hallways, including a feature/gallery wall in the living room - New rugs in bedrooms and living room. - New window shades in living room, nook, dining room and bedrooms - New furniture in living room and one bedroom. - Adding a new chandelier along with sconces in the living room while moving other light fixtures around. - Adding the special touches to complete the décor and hanging pictures on the gallery wall. "The Girls" from Harmony were always there to help provide furnishings and give advice on other purchases (including furniture) that we made as a part of the process. They scheduled all of the manpower for moving existing furniture, demo, construction and even when that effort extended outside of the house to repair roofing or sealing windows that we found were leaking and causing damage. The professionalism and accommodating approach of "The Girls" at Harmony Homes was all we could have asked for, and we ARE VERY HAPPY with the experience and the result.

We're converting attic space into an additional bedroom and approached Worthington in July in hopes that they might be the right company to bring the project to fruition. They pitched themselves as a white glove service that would handle all aspects and coordination of the project from tip to tail in a timely manner. We were willing to pay a premium for that service which is why we were so alarmed when right off the bat it seemed we had to push to get anything done, even getting an updated contract for a feasibility study took over two weeks. Once we signed the contract and paid for the study it took numerous points of contact and more than two weeks before we were informed when the study would be completed, without even checking with us to see if we were available. In the midst of all this chaos we decided to go with another company that was more proactive and communicative. We informed Worthington that because of all of these difficulties we weren't moving forward with the study and politely requested a refund for the study that was never completed. The designer we worked with was apologetic and agreed that a refund was acceptable given the fact that the study hadn't been completed and her lack of responsiveness. After a week went by without a refund or any communication, we reached out again only to have an extremely rude woman tell us that there will be no refund for the incomplete study and accepted zero responsibility for our disappointing experience. The disrespect she showed our family during this conversation was shocking and has no place in a conversation with any customer. If this is the way Worthington does business, we consider ourselves lucky to have only lost the initial fee instead of paying a massive premium for a lengthy and frustrating home renovation experience.

The product was good and the installation was flawless. But now eight years later they seem to put the customer last. This evaluation stems from a recent encounter when I requested help from the company after a battery for one of my electric blinds wouldn't accept a charge. Their immediate recommendation was to replace the motors for all four electric blinds at a cost around $1,000. Needless to say, I was stunned by their recommendation. I was pretty sure it was either a bad battery or a bad charger. They offered to send a technician out to assess my problem as long as I agreed to pay a $150 trip charge. Well that offer just sucked all the joy out of me. Instead, I asked if I could speak with a technician so I could describe what I discovered after conducting some basic testing. They said they would have someone call me, but nobody did. Further testing supported my belief that the charger was bad. I found an exact replacement online for the device I had, but the manufacturer had discontinued it. That told me everything I needed to know. I found another charger on Amazon for $15 and it was delivered the next day. Thank you Amazon. The new charger worked. Problem solved. I have to say I was extremely happy that $15 for a new charger saved me from spending $1000 to replace four window blind motors.......plus a $150 trip charge (eye roll here) .... :). Bottom line: they might still do good installations, but their follow-up support needs some work.
