The customer service is terrible and it's said that it's only like that in "our" Wal-Mart stores. No one wants to help. They lock everything up and then refuse to answer the call button. The young lady who monitored the self check out was clearly hired as a mannequin because she just stood there and twirled her hair instead of helping seniors with the self checkout purchase. She turned her head every time the green light turned orange. The aisles are all over the place and this wasn't the case a couple of years ago. The fruit section is always so sloppy. This Walmart is very unresponsive. I've called their phone number and selected extension 3 and no one picks up the phone. After it rings for over 3+ minutes the call disconnects. This Walmart needs attention from leadership. If you have Walmart+ in home delivery, and this is the Walmart you have to use, prepare to NOT receive your deliveries as they get delayed significantly and often. Long lines even though at least 8 cashiers are just walking around at any given time. Customer service sucks even from the managers stand point. I almost always shop at this Walmart but today was a different story. I had an E-Gift card that I wanted to use and I guess the cashier didn't know how to put it into the system so she still rung up my items but she sent me over to the Customer Service Center and told me that they could re-ring me and use my gift card because her scanner didn't work. So I went over to the Customer Service Center and the cashier acted as if she couldn't ring me so that I could use my e-gift card. Avoid this location at all costs, workers are very rude, they stand around and complain about how they have to work and are so underpaid, anytime you ask for assistance, they take their sweet time and act like you are really putting them out, visited there recently to purchase a watch, nobody in jewelry department, I asked someone to page someone to help me and finally after 20 minutes someone showed up not knowing anything about anything and the manager came over and said the person who could help me was taking an hour break and she wasn't going to bother her. Just called to see if they had an automotive department to get an oil change. After about 15 mins of the phone ringing, someone finally answered. I asked if they had an automotive department the lady who did not disclosed her name after asking who i was speaking to, just cut my conversation off and said "no we don't, no we don't you will have to go to Hammond " and then hung up on me while i was trying to ask another question. Now i see why so many of friends recommend target. Because some of the Walmart's are ghetto and know nothing about customer service. Very unprofessional staff. I visited last spring 2018 for an eye exam. I had already gotten an eye exam from an eye doctor at the rehab I was at about a month or so before. The doctor gave me documentation with my prescription and said all I need to do is get frames. We bunched up a collection of Eye Doctors in my vicinity and we decided that Walmart Vision Center was an ok choice. I called and talked with the front desk clerk and she told me, 'I can come in. Just bring my prescription. I don't have to schedule an appointment and that the fee would be a low price.' I walked in one day with my prescription and the eye doctor told me that I had to take a new exam for some odd reason. So, I come back in to take the new exam. The girls in the front seemed ok. But didn't inform me to remove my unprescribed contacts for my exam. This caused my exam to be much longer because the eye doctor goes back to complain & go back and forth with them and had me retake the exam a 2nd time. After the exam was over, I was given contacts that weren't even closely adjusted to my vision 'because they were the last pair available.' I picked the pair of frames I wanted and was told I had to pay a larger fee than mentioned over the phone and that if I was interested in a 6 month supply it'll cost 116. I let the doctor know I wasn't 100% sure yet and that I'll let him know in the timeframe he gave. I come back a few weeks later for my glasses. It took over a month for them to be ready. I loved them. The option for a case was actually not an option. You get what they already pre-selected for you. I personally feel like the flat, thin frames are inconvenient because glasses will be easily squashed or damaged than if with regular harder surface cases. So, FFWD to 2019. I just contacted Walmart Vision Center in Lansing, IL again today 2/11/19 at 9:25 am. The woman didn't even attempt to state her name, acted as if she didn't know anything, and practically rushed me off the phone. I was only calling to get the due date that was given by the doctor. But she told me that, "it was not on the screen that she was looking at." She honestly didn't even attempt to look and I can tell from the sound of her voice that she wasn't going to either. I'm glad that I'm transferring because the Walmart itself is an extremely unprofessional place. And I was hoping there was at least a seed of hope with the Vision Center but I guess not. read more

This is the worst Walmart in regards to customer service! They keep playing phone tag when you call in until they eventually hang up. Why keep answering the phone only to tell me " hold on"... holding on for 9-10 min is unacceptable. Walmart has to do better at this location. The workers are unprofessional with bad work ethics. Absolutely pointless in trying to reach customer service over the phone. It just rings and rings. Trying to resolve an issue and a manager tells me to speak to customer service. Well, after several days of calling, they tell me to speak to the service center. I get transferred but no one ever picks up. The lines are long and slow, workers/cashiers barely speak. The good thing is that they have cute kid clothes that are inexpensive and I can always find things for my daughter. Overall, I dread going into the store due to the long lines. read more

on 6/22/17 at approximately 7:30pm my myself and my two sons' walked in Walmart to grab a few items. I noticed this man standing in the middle of the center aisle. He was wearing royal blue sweatpants and a black shirt with multi-colors in it. His hair was I believe in short box braids and he was wearing glasses. . As my family and I walked passed him, he began to follow us. Once I noticed him following us. I turned my cart around in his direction and he pretended to push cart in the opposite direction. I then turned around to go in my original direction and he began to follow me again. I then notice that this man his TOUCHING HISSELF THROUGH HIS PANTS IN INAPPRORIATE MANNER! I noticed an employee in the toiletries aisle and I went to get his attention. I told him what was going on and he says he will notify someone. As he is walking off another employee by the name of Ralph walked up an inquired on what is taking place. Once he understood, he said I'm going to shop with you and walk you to your car. As we now are walking through the dairy aisle, this child molester/pervert is following me again and now I just lose it. I began to shout "why are you following me, get him, get away from us" he continues to walk ahead of us. Now we are in the paper plate aisle and this man walks pass this aisle staring at my children. As we began to walk off, I no longer see this child molester. Ralph kept his word and walked me out to the car. As we were leaving we both did inquire on where was security to the greeter, but she did not know. I have been calling this store since 7:51pm. I have literally about 15 calls to 708-474-6405. I called customer service, no one answered, I called electronics, no one answered. I called pharmacy, she told me she could not transfer me to customer service, but she can transfer me to the fitting room. she did just that, and no answer. I have preceded to call Walmart until writing this review. I am COMPLETELY DISGUSTED WITH YOUR LEVEL OF SECURITY AND CUSTOMER SERVICE! I WAS FOLLOWED FOR AT LEAST 15 MINS (FROM THE TIME I WALKED IN THE STORE UNTIL MY DEPARTURE) AND NO ONE CAME DESPITE THAT FIRST GENTLEMAN SAYING HE WOULD NOTIFY SOMEONE. I HAVE CALLED CORPORATE AS WELL, AND THEY HAVE A RECORDING SAYING THAT ARE IN A CUSTOMER SERVICE TRANING AND TO CALL BACK TOMORROW. I CALLED LANSING POLICE, ONCE I MADE IT TO MY VEHICLE. Very first day shopping a boy was screaming for help and dragged through the aisles. I tried to help but he wouldn't stop. Several associates stood around did nothing one even laughed. Finally we found someone who helped. The first few times time store was stocked and short lines and friendly service. However that has since changed . It seems in the evening the employees are the worst. Many talking, laughing and ignoring customers. I do admit there are a few wonderful employees but they are few and far between. Last time I went to ask a employee at the service desk a question she said something to someone then walked away. I waited 10 mins thinking she was coming back. Then I went to electronics to get a phone there was several tags for the phone but after waiting found out they were out of stock. Instead of removing the tags the associate put it back.
