Hometown thrift is one of the most reasonable resell shops. Really great for vintage furniture. Do stop by if you are in the area.

They have gutted the store.... used to have tons of stuff. They have about 1/10 the stuff they used to have. Not sure what happened.

The things here were also in much better shape then most thrift shops and better prices then Goodwill to boot.

This is what Lost Eras(in Rogers Park, and I eventually need to redo my review of that place) would…read moreprobably be like, if it had 2.5 times more space, plus an outdoor area(just off of a left side door past all the TVs) to sell even more stuff(though the most interesting stuff by far is inside). This store was seriously like combining the most interesting retro things you'd find in someone's basement(more like the most interesting items of all the basements you've visited), and displaying them all in a very huge space. All the previous reviews are right-on about this place being great. Looks deceptively small when you first enter, as you only see the main room, a 2nd room just behind that room, and a side room filled with LPs/music/books/etc. at first. But when you go to that second room and realize there are several more rooms behind that door(albeit these rooms aren't air conditioned or heated at all, unlike the main 3 rooms), then you realize how much hidden treasures are here. And this is the ONLY caution I'll give about this place: the bathroom(in the back half of the place that doesn't have a/c or heat) isn't in the greatest shape, so I'd suggest finding one somewhere else if possible, unless you have to go very badly. I believe the staff lets you haggle on prices at least somewhat(but not sure to how much of a degree they allow this), since I overheard someone at the register and a customer appearing to do that before I began exploring the back rooms. Glad I didn't rush my time here, and savored exploring this store. Can't wait to return to this store at some future point. *NOTE: Closed on Sundays*

Yes I am a fan ... of digging through piles and finding great old ties, lamps, vintage coasters,…read morebarware and more. Stacks of books, records, pictures, posters don't freak me out. Climbing through stacks of old doors, windows, brass beds, and kitchen appliances makes for a great afternoon. All that and more is housed in the many rooms of Hammond Salvage & Resale. Will you love everything here? No. That's not the point. The point is hunting for the odd, the fun, the one-of-kind things. This is the place to do it. PS -- nice people, the kind you're glad to spend some time with and a cute little dog to welcome you as you walk in.

What an unusual store! Random isn't the word for the assortment of merchandise: some furniture,…read moresome clothing, lots of men's shoes, few women's shoes, area rugs, toilet paper, some decor, a larger appliance section, a few toys and games, small appliances, single cans of soda, sparkling water, Monster, even some pet items. And dozens of suitcases of all colors! If you need luggage you will love the variety here. I'm working in the area this week and happened to see this store which is near my hotel. The furniture is very nice and extremely reasonably priced. I found a couple of couches that I would have considered purchasing IF I wasn't 3 hours from home and IF I was driving a truck. There were men's Land's End shoes for $5 a pair. A great deal! In fact everything I saw was a very good deal. I've never seen a store like this before. A fun place to shop! If I lived nearer I would stop in frequently! We definitely don't have a store like this in Carmel where I live. I'll add that everything was well organized and prices were clearly marked. This store is very clean and tidy. I'll definitely stop in whenever I am working in this area.

Everything from name-brand clothing and shoes to patio furniture and bedroom furniture, individual rolls of toilet paper, laundry baskets, washing machines, luggage, margarita mix, mirrors, giant cans of tuna, dog beds, tiki torches and lots more. Last Chance Overstock sells the things that didn't sell at other stores. It's the Island of Misfit Merchandise, if you will. (Will you?) My children had a fun time sitting in all of the chairs and couches around the store. A big portion of the store is dedicated to furniture, and the store-people are 100% OK with you and your children sitting on every couch and lying on every bed. My kids wanted to find the most comfortable couch, and they chose the one with plush corduroy that had cup holders and a USB plug. They wanted to buy it, but we live many miles away, and also, there is no way I'm inviting a couch with cupholders and a USB plug into my home. Get bent, kids. You need to look at the products carefully, because some of the things are a little worse for the wear. But for the most part, most of the items I saw at Last Chance looked perfectly fine. I wouldn't come here to find something specific, because inventory changes frequently, but this is a good place to browse and find a treasure.

My parents ordered two couches, a chair, pillows, and a rug from this location back in August…read more Everything arrived in a timely manner except the two couches. At least eleven phone calls later (possibly more; they couldn't remember them all!), many many false promises from employees that the couches were on their way from the warehouse (or being build or on the truck, etc.), my parents were FINALLY informed at the end of November that the couches hadn't even been built yet! The delivery date for the couches has been pushed out at least three times! At this point the couches won't even be done being made until mid December. Apparently these specific couches are very popular! A manager has blamed many of the employees for not knowing how to read the computer. One employee even told them, when asked by my parents for a corporate number, that it "doesn't exist," that there isn't one that they can give out. My father later found one online and was able to reach corporate. My parents were initially only refunded the shipping costs, but have since been told they will be credited more money.

She did direct me to the mall location so I could get a better idea of what I was looking for. That is where I met Sean. He was so sweet to me, like he treated me like family. He asked all the right questions and was 100% honest. I feel I paid a great price for the sofa I bought today. Edit: the sofa I bought was on backorder, which was fine. I was told once it came in, I would receive a call to set up my delivery time. Well today I received a call saying they were in the area and wanted to deliver my sofa. I'm at work until 10pm. Then he offered tomorrow, but again, I'm at work till 10pm. He then offered to call me later today to set up delivery time, but I'm at work till 10pm. I personally feel that it would of been a lot easier to set up delivery time before trying to deliver it to my house. 2nd Edit: well since no one took the time to arrange a time for my sofa delivery, I decided to take it upon myself. So I called the store and spoke to a confused man. Then a different man came on the phone and asked if he could call me back later. Weird, but ok. Then the first man came back on to take down my name number. Yesterday they were all about delivering my sofa, now today it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.
