They always have things set outside for sale when they're open, and I always find myself rubber necking as I pass by. I really am afraid that I'll cause an accident while passing by. I've made a policy to not take money with me when I go there because I'll spend way too much. I can do this because if I decide I do want to buy something, I can hurry home and come back with the cash. As some others have said, they can be a bit pricey on some things. However, there is a system. If something just comes in, the price will be a bit higher. The longer it sits there, the more they'll mark it down. Also, if it's been there a while, they're more inclined to haggle. Go in with a great attitude and they will give you a better deal. Go in with a crappy attitude, they won't be so inclined to haggle. Just be warned, if it's brand new to the shop, they won't haggle as much. If you buy a bunch of things all at once, they'll often give you a price for the whole lot which saves you money. I have found some real gems in the store. I've bought an entire set of vintage dishes for my house. I had a tea party for my daughter and got a tea set made in England and vintage, lace table linens for a very reasonable price. I've bought two solid wood desks there. Tomorrow, I'm having an 1950's china cabinet delivered to my house (They do deliver locally, for a price.) This lovely piece is in pristine condition with huge, glass sliding doors, which is why I'm having it delivered. The price on it was a steal. I found it before it was even tagged and will make a great addition to my 1950's built home. I could list all of the wonderful things I've found there but you really need to go yourself. You can easily pass an hour or two there without even knowing the time has passed. So make sure you set aside a good amount of time to look. With a little bit of time, you could actually furnish your house with vintage furniture, dishes and the like for a fraction of the cost of what you would buy new. The older stuff has so much more character and the things I've bought have been solid wood. Not pressed particle board. This is truly a Hammond treasure. You city people would be smart to come and take a look.

Looks deceptively small when you first enter, as you only see the main room, a 2nd room just behind that room, and a side room filled with LPs/music/books/etc. at first. But when you go to that second room and realize there are several more rooms behind that door(albeit these rooms aren't air conditioned or heated at all, unlike the main 3 rooms), then you realize how much hidden treasures are here. And this is the ONLY caution I'll give about this place: the bathroom(in the back half of the place that doesn't have a/c or heat) isn't in the greatest shape, so I'd suggest finding one somewhere else if possible, unless you have to go very badly. I believe the staff lets you haggle on prices at least somewhat(but not sure to how much of a degree they allow this), since I overheard someone at the register and a customer appearing to do that before I began exploring the back rooms. Darlene, another associate, and the manager on duty (I wish I knew his name) provided me with the highest level of customer service. He made my day! He was a one man show on the floor and handing pickups and he even located my 18" Baker Santa that I was looking for online. Darlene found me on the floor, and she let me know that the manager had located my item. When I got to the register, Darlene took her time, and she made sure that my coupon was properly applied. I was able to find the most unique garland & Santa's. They have something for everyone. The store is neat, clean and well maintained. My order was quickly and efficiently processed with a smile. Darlene was professional, and I loved the way she worked to provide exemplary service as she even assisted her coworker when I arrived with my return.

My kids wanted to find the most comfortable couch, and they chose the one with plush corduroy that had cup holders and a USB plug. They wanted to buy it, but we live many miles away, and also, there is no way I'm inviting a couch with cupholders and a USB plug into my home. Get bent, kids. You need to look at the products carefully, because some of the things are a little worse for the wear. But for the most part, most of the items I saw at Last Chance looked perfectly fine. At least eleven phone calls later (possibly more; they couldn't remember them all!), many many false promises from employees that the couches were on their way from the warehouse (or being build or on the truck, etc.), my parents were FINALLY informed at the end of November that the couches hadn't even been built yet! The delivery date for the couches has been pushed out at least three times! At this point the couches won't even be done being made until mid December. Apparently these specific couches are very popular! A manager has blamed many of the employees for not knowing how to read the computer. One employee even told them, when asked by my parents for a corporate number, that it "doesn't exist," that there isn't one that they can give out. My father later found one online and was able to reach corporate. My parents were initially only refunded the shipping costs, but have since been told they will be credited more money.
