Now I know why my husband told me that we shouldn't go in here...its like being in a candy store…read morebut with so much cool stuff for your house and home. We went in to look for some planters my mom had recently picked up here for a nice price and I wanted to go back to see if they had any more available. To my sadness, I was unable to locate any additional planter sets like the ones my mom had picked up, but not to worry, there is so much more here to find! First off, allow yourself at least 30-45 minutes to get through this store if it's your first visit. There is so much to see and great items throughout the entire store. You can pick up anything from outdoor furniture to bakeware, from pergolas to mirrors. Second, be cautious about what you put in the basket. There were several items which were very difficult to decipher the pricing. They have a bunch of tiki torches and I wanted to pick some up for around our patio but there was no pricing. By the time my husband was able to find someone to help him get a price, I had moved on to another part of the store and we forgot to go back to get the very well priced torches for $2.99 a piece. He's going back tomorrow to grab them for us before they're gone! Last, it's very easy to get caught up in how pretty some of the items are but frankly some items we're severely overpriced. I used my self control (which was not easy!) however we got out of here for less than $60 and picked up some beautiful plant stands, some absolutely adorable indoor/outdoor pillows for our patio furniture for $7 a piece and a few solar lanterns for a decent price if you ask me. It's nice that solar items are starting to come down in pricing!! My favorite part of our trip was at the checkout. We walked up to get in line behind a lady and her two boys in the cart. The younger kiddo was kinda whining but not annoying...just being a kid. Turns out he wanted candy!!! I told him I wanted some candy too, I totally understood his pain. By the time we were about done checking out ourselves, we had a woman behind us with her little lady beginning to beg for candy too. We just laughed because evidently, product placement is everything!

There outlets section in the rear of the store is absolutely amazing. I've gotten some great deals there and I will continue shopping there. Update Oct 26, 2018 I was amazed when I first started shopping at Bob's and that has not changed as far as the outlet section of the store. The retail section of the store also had great prices however, they stick it to you with the delivery charges. Their prices are cheaper than Ashley furniture, Art Van, The Home Place and other stores but when they add in delivery charges you will end up paying more for your furniture than most places. The kicker is they charge based on how much you spend. Example: If you purchase a sectional for $1,700 the delivery amount is $300 but if you purchase a sectional that is the exact same size but cost more, your delivery charge goes up and there is no cap on the delivery charges. I will continue shopping there but only in the outlet section.

Text at 6:06 a.m. this morning: "TODAY'S THE DAY! Your merchandise is out for delivery & estimated to arrive between 09:45 AM - 12:45 PM." 1:00 comes and goes. Nothing. 2:00 comes and goes. Nothing. 2:45, I text back yesterday's text that invited questions. "Where are you." Response: You are schedule for tomorrow. Wait, I was scheduled for today and I have the texts to prove it.; Response: Delivery scheduled: May 21, between 10:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. The tracking link provided DOES NOT WORK. As I continue to wait to get an update, I get: 2:49 p.m.: "I'm sorry to inform you that the item could not be delivered today due to an unforeseen situation at the warehouse." Offer to reschedule for next week on the 27th, 28th, 29th, or 30th. But WHY has it been delayed? Why didn't anybody call me. Been sitting around since 9:45 [due to this morning's text] and now it's FIVE HOURS LATER and 2 hours past the latest time promised. I should get a discount, right? Ummm, we can't give you a discount until after we deliver the chair and then we can "evaluate the entire situation further." What kind of idiot would agree to let Bob's "evaluate the entire situation further" AFTER you've already allowed them to deliver it [at a charge of $69.99]? Guess they deal with idiots all the time. "I want to talk to the store manager." Response: Call the store. So I call Bob's in Merrillville. After two operators and 16 minutes total on hold, Jessie comes on. At least she has an answer: They're having problems at the local warehouse and your chair is coming from Ohio. So why didn't someone contact us? Ummmm, sorry, those computer texts are from a different division of the company. WHAAATTT? So you send me a text YESTERDAY promising delivery between 11 and 2, and then you send one at 6 this morning promising delivery between 9:45 and 12:45, but NOBODY can text or call and say . . . sorry, can't make it today? And the links that supposedly take you to a tracking page for your delivery truck take you to a page that says "Delivery Tracking Not Available?" You think Jessie offers any discount? Any upgrade? A coupon for a White Castle? Nope. Just a "we're sorry" and "I see we can reschedule you for next week." Ummm, no thanks. CANCELED. Bob's will never see us again.

At least eleven phone calls later (possibly more; they couldn't remember them all!), many many false promises from employees that the couches were on their way from the warehouse (or being build or on the truck, etc.), my parents were FINALLY informed at the end of November that the couches hadn't even been built yet! The delivery date for the couches has been pushed out at least three times! At this point the couches won't even be done being made until mid December. Apparently these specific couches are very popular! A manager has blamed many of the employees for not knowing how to read the computer. One employee even told them, when asked by my parents for a corporate number, that it "doesn't exist," that there isn't one that they can give out. My father later found one online and was able to reach corporate. My parents were initially only refunded the shipping costs, but have since been told they will be credited more money.

He asked all the right questions and was 100% honest. I feel I paid a great price for the sofa I bought today. Edit: the sofa I bought was on backorder, which was fine. I was told once it came in, I would receive a call to set up my delivery time. Well today I received a call saying they were in the area and wanted to deliver my sofa. I'm at work until 10pm. Then he offered tomorrow, but again, I'm at work till 10pm. He then offered to call me later today to set up delivery time, but I'm at work till 10pm. I personally feel that it would of been a lot easier to set up delivery time before trying to deliver it to my house. 2nd Edit: well since no one took the time to arrange a time for my sofa delivery, I decided to take it upon myself. So I called the store and spoke to a confused man. Then a different man came on the phone and asked if he could call me back later. Weird, but ok. Then the first man came back on to take down my name number. Yesterday they were all about delivering my sofa, now today it doesn't seem to be that big of a deal.
