A genuine Hawaiian convenience store. Loved the spam musubi and other local snacks. A the nicest staff ever!

Stumbled upon this snack shack whilst waiting for a table at Hawaiian Style Cafe in the plaza. This shack is filled with plenty of local snacks such as crack seeds (preserved fruits), local grinds, shaved iced and drinks. I was initially lured in by their lemon peel gummy bears, which apparently they're famous or well know for. Lemon peel strips? Li hing powder? Gummy bears? Oh yeeah I'm hella down for all those ingredients. The gummies were located right at entrance and I grabbed two little tubs. I browsed around to see what else caught my eye; ended up picking up some lilikoi flavored macadamia nuts for my friend. The nuts were $12 and the gummy tubs was $7 each, which was a lot for a small tub, but I didn't know where else I could find lemon peel gummies conveniently. I didn't crack open the tub until I returned back home from my trip. The gummies didn't look wet, which is what I prefer. I don't like candy that gets your fingers sticky. I looked up diys on how people make these and most are on the wet side due to the sugary lemon juice. Lani's gummies had chopped up pieces of lemon peel and the li hing powder was ever so lightly coated on the gummies. First bite was a flavor rush. Slight tang, sweet and chewy and a hint of salty. Yo, it is delishness. 10/10 nom nom's. You need self control to prevent from finishing the whole tub in one sitting. I ate the bears in small increments to savor them. Once there were a few gummies leftover I decided to add other gummies I had on hand (Black forest gummies). I added them in the tub and shook them up to get the remaining lemon peel and li hing and they stuck to the newer gummies. Life hack right there, y'all! The lilikoi macadamia nuts were good as well. It had a hint of lilikoi and they were reasonably priced. FYI, at Kona airport they were $18! If you're in the area, and you love gummies, definitely pick up at least one of the lemon peel bears. It is so good and worth the splurge. My tastebuds thanked me for getting them lol

Very cute little shop in Hilo. I got to meet Lani the owner of the shop. She is a beautiful lady inside and out. We looked around the quaint space for some goodies. They make gourmet popcorn and I got a bag with Caramel, Cheddar, and a little Spice. It was Amazing!! I wanted more but she was closed by the time I realized I loved the popcorn. I'll be back!!

This is the best lemon peel gummy bears I've found so far. It's the perfect combination of sour and sweet. I live on Oahu so I called (their number is on teand did a phone order. The staff is so friendly and helpful. My order arrived 2 days after I placed my order. I'm so glad that I'll be able to snag some of these without jumping on a plane. I recommend calling them and putting in an order!

You gotta try this!!! Gummy bear with lemon peel is sooo addicting!!! Perfection of sweet and sour!!!! My mouth is salivating!!!!

Last Christmas, a family member gave me some gummy bears with lemon peel. I have never tried this mixture, but boy oh boy!!! I was hooked to this treat. I googled this very new treat and that's where lani's sweet treat popped up, and so my addiction for gummy bears with lemon peep started! Says this is the original place that made this addicting combination. I finally got to go to this little store in Hilo. Very small store with a variety of other treats. Crack seed and flavored popcorn, candies, and ice cream. I was there for 1 thing and 1 thing only, my gummy bears with lemon peel. People have tried to copy but this is the original and da best in my opinion. Staff is friendly and nice, clean store, just wish they had one on Honolulu. Until I return to Hilo again, I will be begging peeps to pick me my gummy bears!!! So Onolicious

But as soon as we walked in, we were warmly greeted by the wonderful staff, and the whole vibe completely changed. Inside, the space is bright, inviting, and thoughtfully set up. We were offered samples of their Kona coffee along with a couple of treats of the day, which was such a nice touch. As you walk around, you can actually watch them making their delicious goodies, which makes the experience even more fun and tempting. The shop was beautifully decorated for the upcoming Easter holiday, and they also had some really lovely gift boxes--perfect if you're looking to bring something home for family or friends. There's also a small area where you can grab drinks (and possibly ice cream too). I ordered a green tea latte, and it was absolutely wonderful. Overall, such a cozy, welcoming spot with great treats and friendly service. Definitely worth stopping by--whether you're craving something sweet or looking to pick up a thoughtful gift!

They have an amazing menu for shaved ice! They also have a great selection for smoothie bowls. I was honestly impressed for a shaved ice place to have so many options for smoothie bowls. The tables allow you to people watch since the tables are right in front of the café and next to the farmers market. Also, little birds were very interested in the area and potential snacks, so that was cute to watch! Our smoothie bowls were excellent! As a disclaimer, I'm not the biggest fan of shaved ice because of how sweet the dessert tends to be, and because more often than not, there are a bunch of artificial colors used in the fruit juices. When we looked at the menu, I was impressed and excited to see the emphasis on quality of their ingredients: no artificial flavors or colors, no aspartame, no high fructose corn syrup, and no preservatives. I was sold. Although we were tempted to create our own shaved ice, we ultimately went with "The Local", a soursop and liliko'i combo topped with haupia cream. Between the two flavors, I enjoyed the sour sop side a bit more since it was the one that was less sweet. The cream on top was absolutely delicious, and reminded me of the light and airy frothed milk cream you find on many boba drinks these days. There's a generous amount ladled on top, ensuring you can have some in every bite without having to carefully ration out the cream. Overall, I'm a fan of Kula Shave Ice. Definitely a great dessert to enjoy on a hot day. Worth checking out if you're ever in Hilo.

The cafe is located in the back of a boutique / art gallery that sells crystals and prints and has a cute and lively interior. I ordered the chakra latte, which consists of matcha, milk, and your choice of either rose or ube. My mom ordered a heart chocolate (a hot cocoa with milk and cardamom) and a chocolate chip cookie. She really enjoyed her drink and finished it within ten minutes, so it got her stamp of approval. The cookie was harder on the outside but chewy on the inside, which we also like. When I ordered my chakra latte, I was delighted to hear that the milk options include whole milk, oat milk, coconut milk, and macadamia nut milk. I ordered mine with macadamia nut milk and the barista agreed that it was her favorite option to have with the latte. The drink came out with two edible hibiscus flowers on the straw; it was a sweet treat and great detail! The drink was absolutely delicious! The service was also excellent, and the barista that was staffing the counter was very knowledgeable and great to talk to.
