Note to Langmiller...I was able to be reimbursed for the tax on this repair from my insurance company. So "rude guy" was wrong when he said insurance does not pay tax. You need to include tax on your estimates of repair. Also, it was a different item that I was asking Langmiller to make for me. I was told they couldn't do what I wanted but Keva said they could. The repaired ring looks fine but there is no excuse for what was said to me. And...if I go to a jeweler to have work done, I expect to talk to the jeweler!! read more

I hate to put down a small business, especially a local one. However, I feel obligated to let others know of my unfortunate experience with these folks. On, 6/20 I dropped a ring off to get a repair estimate done. Not only did the lady at first glance call it "costume jewelry" she gave me an estimate $300 less then final. The Gentleman who obviously knew a thing or two about jewelery despite a piss poor attitude, and got testy over a watch band, looked it over, and sort grumpily explained what needed to be done. It had to be sent to the "Jeweler" to be certain, he only comes on certain days, etc, etc. Unfortunately I left it. I get an nondated claim ticket. Finally Tues. 6/25 we get a call, "$39x.00, but I took off 25% (they have a coupon running.) $29x.00". Ok, I'll talk it over. I go in, to get pick it up, to go elsewhere and get a second estimate, ITS NOT THERE. "Locked up" "Jeweler has it" "Security, I have no access to safe." "Will probably be Friday. We'll call you.". Friday rolls around, I get a phone call, I go pick it up immediately. Piss poor attitude Guy doesn't even acknowledge me. I get the ring back without giving either my opinion on the dire lack of Customer service they provide. Couple things, Jewelery is not a necessity. It's a luxury. Therefore Customer service and satisfaction, should be paramount. In my opinion, this place could care less if your happy. A Jewelery store that has no on staff/site jeweler, will never be considered by me for anything other then very trivial, 2/3 minute fixes (watch band/battery) again. Up until this I had actually spoken highly of this place. Awhile back, I found a watch that was in good shape but inoperable. She told me it was solar powered. Didnt charge a thing. And he fixed the band, albeit a bad attitude for free. I feel Langemiller really dropped the ball. I cant in good faith recommend them to anyone for anything beyond very small jobs that are more a struggle for patience then skill. Batteries,bands,cleaning. Not putting the date on a claim slip is just unprofessional. I ended up taking the job to Keva, near Jungle Jims 45 minutes later. I got a claim slip with the date. If it had not been for the solar powered watch, and later band replacement, I would have given 1 star. They dont deserve to be lumped in with the non bona fide. Those would receive a 1 star review. Pros- Put a watch band I lost patience with on for free. Cons- Estimate price even with a discount. Eight days for an estimate. Item can not be picked up whenever like with a true Jewelery store. Customer service. Inability to make an appt. during which the Jeweler was their and could give me an estimate on the spot. read more

As a partner of LANGMILLER DIAMONDS refering to the "review" of Sandy H.......Sandy states her "estimate" was $42.00 less than what she was charged, Sandy was given a written estimate as would be required by her insurance company, this estimate was detailed line by line for all parts and labor, again as required by an insurance company, the "additional" charge she refers to is sales tax, this was explained to her when she questioned the difference. We as a retailer do not charge sales tax, but are required to collect it on the purchase of goods and services, as was explained to Sandy sales tax was not part of her written "estimate" to her insurance company because in our experience an insured is not covered for sales tax, this is the obligation of the purchaser. Sandy continued to loudly state "so I'm out $42.00", we attempted to explain and tried to "calm her down" as there were several other customers in the store but she was upset because we had to collect the tax and she was not at all receptive to our explaination. Her item was completely refurbished as she requested and when handed to her she was extremely pleased and commented several times as to how beautiful it now looked, I dont understand her comment about going to another jeweler to have done what we "could not do" because we DID refurbish her item!!!! If we had not been able to do so as Sandy states then what is it that she paid us for plus the $42.00 sales tax that is the question of contention here ? I would have to ask. Additionally I mention that Sandy's "estimate" did NOT in fact take 3 weeks, as she stated, from the time of her initial request for an "estimate" to the completion of the work, of which she was very pleased with, was less then 3 weeks and was completed much sooner, Sandy was out of town on vacation! We only ask that the FACTS be considered. ! 1) Sandy had a written estimate detailed line by line; 2) We are required to collect sales tax ; 3) Sandy was upset that we added sales tax to her purchase; 4) we attempted to explain sales tax was not part of an "estimate" to her insurance company, to no avail; 4) We did complete the work and Sandy stated "how beautiful" it looked, though she states she had to go to another jeweler to have done what we couldnt do???? I am sorry that Sandy was not pleased with us collecting sales tax, BUT I am happy to have returned her item completely refurbished and "looks beautiful" and completed in the time frame she was told though she was unable to pick up while she was out of town on vacation. read more
