The building itself is gorgeous though, and it's a lovely cosy spot for an evening drink. The garden is slightly wild but beautiful, and the perfect venue for an evening of summer's drinking and chilling out with friends. Definitely one of the better pubs in Havant, recommended.

Great selection of beers including Harveys and some really nice home cooked food. Try the whole-tailed breaded scampi as its just as its so nice and fresh tasting. Plenty of bar games to keep you amused like skittles and darts or you could just sit quietly in the corner reading your paper like me.

I often make the joke that I like going to stay with my Mum in England because there are 16 pubs within staggering distance. Actually there are 11; I counted, depending of course on how far you can stagger. This pub has a great friendly, cozy atmosphere, very woody, lots of beams; it's really easy to get chatting with people. Such a contrast to American bars, most are either dives or noisy sports bars with nothing in between. They even have an 'old gits' corner. They look after their real ales and have HSB! This pub is a hidden gem, right in the town center!

My fish and chips was served on old newspaper (a nice traditional touch). The building looked very old from the outside and yet the inside was very clean. The entrance is located on the beach, and I mean literally on the beach. The water is actually a stone's throw away. I've got to imagine the tide water rises up to the front door whenever a storm surge comes into town. In the front is a nice long bar with many beers on tap. In the back are some separate rooms and the kitchen. We sat in a back room and it ended up working out great for lunch. I'd definitely return again.

The decor is flamboyant, with railway sleepers forming part of the bar. The pub is also part-restaurant. We were sat in the 'library' which is cosy with painted shelves of books on the wall. There is a bizarre looking model who is scarily life-like as an old waiter carrying a tray! The wine was nice, the food also. I had sausage and mash and the sausages were locally made. We all had a different type of food and were happy with our choices. Another of our party had fish which was cooked prefectly and another had a Thai noodle curry, which was spicy!!! The management are attentive and asked how we were getting on a couple of times, but not too much to be annoying. There was a roaring fire going and games such as Dominos that we could play. My absolute favourite part of the pub is a free jukebox with CDs. All in all, it's a novelty pub with a homely atmosphere. It is modernly decorated with a classic touch. I would not hesitate to go back and would recommend it straight away.
