Extremely disappointed today with a Landers's van driver giving my family a lift from the Narrowsburg base to Skinner Falls. It was one of their smaller vans, and I noticed that two other passengers seated in the front row were not wearing face coverings. I asked the driver whether he was going to request that the passengers to put their face masks on, to which he replied that wearing masks is optional and that he does not require anyone to wear masks. He actually was not wearing one himself and stood very close to me when he spoke. I pointed to the sign on the van window stating that passengers are required to wear face masks, and the driver repeated that it is an optional policy and he does not require masks. I ended up asking the other passengers myself to put on their masks, which they did. But the van driver pointedly did not put on his mask (I actually don't even think he had one) and ket talking loudly during the entire trip, spreading his respiratory droplets through the air with all windows closed. I really wish Lander's would take their customers' safety more seriously than simply putting meaningless signs on van windows. Had I known about Ladner's lax attitude to public safety, I would have never booked a trip with them. One can only imagine how many innocent customers this one driver has a chance to infect during one weekend with his nonchalant attitude. I wonder how many new Covid can be traced back to Lander's River Trips. read more

We reluctantly decided to book Landers Narrowsburg campground for Memorial day weekend after some unfavorable reviews. But since there was no minimum stay required and they had sites available we decided to give it a try. We (2 adults, a 7 and 8 year old) set off on our first RV trip, not knowing what to expect and hoping that we didn't run in to the rowdy crowds that are complained about. When we arrived on Saturday the campground was relatively quiet. There were a few large groups set up, but aside from the occasional loud music, there was no real ROWDY. The bathrooms were above average and the showers were amazing by camping standards. Because the weather was iffy we didn't book any river trips but took a walk over the bridge to play in the water at a fishing location, since the river access was just mud at the campground. The only complaint we have is that the campground speed limit of 10 mph wasn't enforced and often wasn't even followed by the staff (most people were doing 25/30 mph), and that's only because we had young children riding around on their bikes, but once we saw that this was an issue we just told them to pull way onto the grass if they saw someone coming. There was a huge open field to play in with some nets set up and the camp store had the essentials. I'd also recommend bikes, we enjoyed riding around daily. The campground is sandwiched between the river and train tracks. The train does come through, one night it was close to 1am, but since we have a trailer it was a non- issue. All-in-all we had a great trip. We enjoyed the open space. splashing in the puddles and exploring down by the river. I'd suggest calling to see if they have an event going on before you plan a trip because I can imagine it becoming rowdy if it's full. We will surely be returning to hopefully take in the night sky. read more

Wonderful day on the river. Weather was gorgeous, water was calm, could not have asked for better. Our experience with the team from landers was great from the first phone call. They had all the info I needed. I showed up late(caught in a local parade). No problem, forgot my contract in my car, no problem. It was the end of a long weekend, the place was clean when we left for the day. The only downside of the day, was the mud on the river banks, but there was plenty of water to wash it off.... read more

Landers River Trips has been an annual highlight for my family and friends for 40 years! It is a family run operation and that personal touch shows in all they do. The staff at the desk is great at booking and managing group camping, canoeing, rafting and kayaking. They provide buses for drop offs and pickups plus plenty of spots on the river to drop in or take out your gang. Keeps the schedule nice and flexible. We stay at the Narrowsburg site because they have plenty of different camping spots on the river, set back in the woods or in the open field, which we like. Some of our gang have outgrown camping and use AirBnB to book houses right in town so that works too. For the people griping on these posts about noisy nights, talk to the staff when booking. They can direct you to the best camping location for a quieter setting or weekends to avoid because of large gatherings. If you avoid the summer months, it is real peaceful. I went on July 4 weekend. Despite the bad reviews there were actually a ton of people here! There were fireworks (although the rules state that you will be fined if you light 'em up, but I'm sure that weekend was an exception). Pros: -Rafting (5&10 mile options available) -tubing -drinking on the river is a-ok! I recommend bringing cans, not bottles -supermarket is a close drive away -there's a bar right outside of the campgrounds in case you want to watch a game or get your social drink on or get tired of the open sky and twinkling stars Cons: -The staff didn't know about any hiking trails in the area at all. They are completely clueless. We weren't the only people who asked either. It's silly, a campground should have nearby hiking trails mapped out or at least a knowledge of something nearby-ish. -bathrooms were digusting (probably because it was a holiday weekend). Most of them didn't have locks. Because there were so many people some bathrooms got clogged, which sometimes resulted in the entire ladies room being locked up because it was out of order. There were other bathrooms, you just had to trek to another restroom station on the campground. -Showers: A bug crawled on me in the shower! The next day there was no hot water and I took a cold shower, which was not pleasant on a chilly night. -a good portion of the sites suck! Really out in the open and close in proximity to each other. And not all sites had picnic tables. -they told us each site has a firepit. That was a lie. And we were not the anomaly. If you want a good view of the fireworks on July, like front row seat status, go to the boating dock, which is part of the campsite but open to the public as well. Don't try to watch it from your campsites, the trees obstruct the view. Trust me. read more

We had read the reviews before going on this trip; but were thinking that people who wanted to party at an obnoxious level would go to the Skinner's Falls campground - the one dubbed a party place. We like to have fires and play music and have some drinks so we didn't want to go to the family campground and disturb anyone else's fun... Unfortunately we chose to go to Narrowsburg campsites where NO ONE had the same kind of consideration. First of all there are FOUR bathrooms for 150 sites. Most have 3 stalls in them. The sheer amount of people at this place on a weekend calls for more facilities or even portable toilets (I did see 2 of these near random campsites - would have been great down near the 60's campsites so you didn't need to go up to the party locations to use the toilet). Partly because of the limited options, and partly because of the animalistic nature of the groups staying near the toilets, they were at all times flooded, heaping toilet paper out of them, piles of feces on the toilets, in the toilets and on the floor - woman's sanitary baskets were flowing onto the floor. There was no garbage and no working hand-dryer or electric in the bathroom closest to us. It was DISGUSTING. The poor woman trying to clean the place came in multiple times and cleaned these gross messes and not even 15 minutes later it was like this again. There were two showering spots, with two stalls - again for 150 campsites... not logical. It was so hot and dirty I didn't even feel clean when I left. All night long a group blared Latin music so loudly that I could hear it over the TRAIN that went by directly by our campsite at 1am every morning. The next night another group came and tried to over-noise them with their rap music. I do not mind music at all - our neighbors had tunes going even later then that, but at a respectful level that you could sleep through. This was just obnoxious. These large groups were inconsiderate, running in front of cars, kids unsupervised running into the road, screaming at one another until all hours of the morning, leaving garbage everywhere... I don't understand why there is no one from the campsite following up on these complaints, or patrolling the area. The "rules" that say quiet hours after 11pm are a joke. The Lander's River security vehicle sits by the entrance in overgrown grass - they've clearly given up. There are limited fire pits at the campground, we had to take one from another site, and maybe half of the sites have them. The rest you're told to "find rocks or something" and make your own... We enjoyed the river on our own, so I can't speak to the river trips. But the people we saw going down the river were leaving trash everywhere on the banks and in the river, and the spot where we got out people were urinating into the river and on the bank - tubes where everywhere were people left them, and garbage all over. No one was doing anything to stop any of this. You would think they'd work to preserve this beautiful portion of the river. It's a shame because the spot is beautiful - the river here is amazing. Such potential but when you allow such filthy conditions and rude people to overrun your campsite, you turn it into a haven for them and not one where people can enjoy nature and the river and a good time. All it takes is policies and someone to care and this could be a beautiful place. We definitely will not be back. read more

The worst place, took my family this weekend. The instructors briefly told us where to go. Didn't tell us in case of an emergency or thunderstorms. We had both things happen to us. No rangers around. A local came out of her house to help us. she drove us back to the site. We explained what happened and the lady just said people just continue to go along with the ride.. What ??? Yeah no not for first timers and a 6 year old. So 5 minutes in the trip an emergency And a thunderstorm no one around to help "worker" other then a wonderful local and out 156.00 dollars because they don't refund anyone I'm not mad over the money but more upset with the fact that there's no safety guards along the lake to help riders with emergency matters never will go here Again!!! read more

Had to write a review after going this past weekend. We had no issues with loud music , the sights were basic, but got one near trees for shade. Had water spicket at sight. Bathrooms and showers are not 5 star, but your at a campground people. Basic but clean enough to take shower. Just bring your water shoes. Staff were friendly and had an overall very good time there. read more

Our group has been going to Landers for 16 years. We go back because it is always a great experience. Generally we do our night stays at Narrowsburg but have stayed at some of the other facilities. The camping, rafting, scenery, and people are fantastic. The Landers Staff always goes above and beyond to make sure our experience is amazing. Our group is getting older and children are coming into play. I cannot wait to introduce our kids to this experience and then pass the torch in the future. i've been to both the narrowsburg as well as the skinner's falls locations multiple times and am 0nce again heading out in 2 days time. for families looking for a quiet and intimate get away, this will probably be a disappointment but for fun loving groups of people it does not get any better. i've been to other camp sites and hated when staff would quiet us down at 10pm even though we weren't acting loud. cleanliness? its a campsite !!!! bring your towel and flip flops with you and stop being a woos. young groups looking for a fun place to just hang out and chill i would definately recommend the skinners falls location since it has a beautiful boulder beach where people like to just chill out on the river. narrowsburg offers sites with electricity and thats where my family with littke kids go to out of convenience. i've never been to mininsk so cant review read more

Rude and nasty manager, act like if we here For Free, not letting us speak using her position as if she Right and we wrong, and telling us if we don't like what she Saying to pack and leave. We paying over 1000 dollar for her to treat us with such a nasty attitude. I do not recommend anybody to come here and pay so much money to have a person to come to your face with a nasty attitude, over "loud music" at 10 am, which is not quit time and it wasn't even loud. read more

We used to camp/canoe at Narrowsburg-Landers River Trips in the 90s. We went every year with a huge group and came to this particular campground because it was known as the partying campground and catered to large groups. Flash forward to 2015 and a bunch of us wanted to go back, bring the kids and have fun. What a difference. The things that people got away with was amazing. It was as if there were no rules except that you must were a wrist band to camp. Who does that? Music until 3am, fireworks after midnight, dogs running loose, multiple cars on each site, generators running past 11pm, non-existent fire pits and crumbling bathrooms. No order whatsoever. If we had committed any of the above back in the day, a visit from the State Police was in order. As for the staff, they were friendly enough but poor communication. We did not realize that a bus came directly to the site to pick you up so we went down to the main house to catch it, no big deal. They no longer ran shuttles so you were only allowed a bus one way which made us change our plans since we had no way to get back to our sites if we had to continue down to TMR from Skinner's Falls. We always paid the Damage Release in cash and refunded it when all equipment returned but we were charged the fee without our consent. The fellow who gave us instructions on what to do and not do on the river sounded stoned and mumbled each word so I would have to relay the information to the rest of our group. We were told it would take us 3 or 4 hours but because the river level was so high, we were done in less than 2 hours. We did enjoy our short time on the river and it was good to get together with some old friends but I think next year we will look around for another place to camp. read more

By far the worst "camping" trip I've ever experienced. I was supposed to spend 3 days at Skinners Falls Campground in Narrowsburg, owned and operated by Landers River Trips, but left after one night completely unimpressed...no, pissed off. First of all the clientele is 95% Latino...which normally who cares they're good people...but I've now learned that the Latino idea of "camping" is to blast salsa dance music all night long, and the Landers staff is too worthless to do anything about it. The obnoxiousness wasn't from one or two sites, it was actually coming from 10 or 11 sites spread across the entire campground, to the point where the fiesta became stereo. Who brings professional-grade speakers when "camping" and doesn't shut it off when asked at 3 am, 4 am, 5 am, 6 am, 7 am, and 8 am? And then in the morning all the senoritas go to the disgusting campground facilities to re-apply their makeup, at which point the music starts again at 11 am. EVERY THIRD PERSON HAD A VUVUZELA. Yes that's right. Personally when I go camping I like to be in nature and not feel like I'm at a Columbian World Cup pep rally. I actually would have liked to hear others talking around our fire, or the sounds of the Delaware river next to us, or even my drunk buddy snoring the next tent over...anything but salsa music. When rafting the next day several other rafters laughed at our group for staying there, saying "oh yeah, you didn't know Skinners Falls has that reputation"? Apparently not. OK so even if you don't let rude and obnoxious "clientele" ruin your trip, how about the Landers River Trips staff? We complained 5 times throughout the first night...and the staff did nothing. The manager actually said "what do you want me to do? I told them once to be quiet, what else can I possibly do?" Umm...maybe have better control over your own campground? Or institute a "no blaring salsa dance music after 3 am" rule? I'm mad at myself for not doing the proper research and finding a decent campground where sites aren't right on top of each other and whose reputation isn't as bad as this. Disgusting facilities + rude and worthless staff + all night Latino fiesta = NOT CAMPING. (Unless you're into that sort of thing...then go for it...) read more

River is beautiful, and the campsite is a blast to explore. Probably best for families without small children, campground gets a bit rowdy!

The past four years camping in narrowsburg have been great. Fun place, friendly staff, clean grounds with working restrooms . Sites are a nice size with many options. We stay at site #50 on the river side. Super peaceful and close to bathroom. Will definitely be returning next year! read more

I've been using Lander's to outfit my 3 day annual Pelman's Canoe Club outing for the last 11 years. The 1st year we used a competitor that was lousy. I immediately switched the following year and haven't looked back. The staff (shout out to Karen) at Lander's has been very accommodating and helpful. I have a large group of guys that go every year (15 to 20) and they have always worked with me to make the trip easy and relaxing. Keep up the good work! read more

It was a group of (7). After we paid, we we're told to put on our vests and grab paddles. Then after that the guy giving us instructions was on warp speed. He was like a recorder on fast fwd. I had to ask him to repeat what he said because it wasn't as if our group did this every wknd. Even his repeat was disinteresting. The Current was not one for rafting. Our group spent the majority of our time struggling to get over shallow water. We were supposed to attempt the 10M run, but after being disappointed we opted out after the midway rest stop of 5M. I do not recommend this location for rafting. Maybe if you want to fish! There were big ones! We would have had more success with that. Although this place did not alter my opinion of rafting per se, the highlight of this trip was Bubba's BBQ 11M away! I don't recommend. read more

OK, I camp quite a bit, and wasn't expecting a real wilderness experience, with that said I wasn't expecting a rock concert till 11:00pm,or the competing salsa music from the other end of the campsite. The barking dogs did add a certain wilderness flair to the weekend though. On the rafting side we made a short run from Skinners falls to Narrowsburg. Which was perfect for my 6 year old and his friend but we were made to wait 2 hours streamside vests on paddles in hand, for the rafts to arrive. The kids still enjoyed playing in the mud for two hours, I'm just glad the wives weren't with us they would have been flipping out waiting. By the way folks its not OK to start a chainsaw up at 7:00am and start replenishing your wood supplies. read more

This is probably one of the worst places to camp. It is nothing but campsite after campsite of loud, obnoxious campers who are more interested in getting really drunk and staying up all night with loud salsa and rave music. There is no enforcement of quiet after 11pm. The morning we packed up I had the pleasure of seeing a campsite neighbor pelting Canadian geese with rocks in the river. Class A humans. Avoid at all costs. Neighboring site in Callicoon is just as bad but they do enforce music, loud partying after 11p. But expect more of the same. This is not really a place for people who enjoy the outdoors. Absolutely nothing redeeming about this place other than the river. The people it attracts have no respect for anyone but themselves. (THis is prompted by a confrontation we had with fellow campers when we asked them to stop screaming at 4am. Our request was met with a drunken hostile response.....really, really bad place.) read more

Canoe with a hole, refunded at the end after having to stop numerous times to get rid of water inside in addition to a scare of being in the middle of nowhere stuck. You could just walk in the middle of the Delaware river with really strong currents easily capable of throwing a middle aged unfit female off her feet, said "said manager Gail". With wet phone and car keys from the backpack which was under water in a canoe full of water until our friend realized canoe had a problem. When we turned it over there was a black leaking patch in the middle of a bumped bottom. So we finally made it back to the end of the river trip and were told to complain to Gail "the manager". We did. Got a refund for just one person, and there were 4 of us who all had to stop 9 times to help flip the canoe, sat with her on the shore deciding on what to do. Because phones don't work, assistance isn't available and where would you leave the canoe even if we somehow managed to maybe get a lift from other people on bigger boats. No guarantee though! She could just walk across the river told us Gail. What sounds like a super dangerous solution to us came out of her mouth without a blink of an eye, oh yeah we signed waivers guaranteeing we wouldn't sue in case of death or paralysis. Resume: rude and indifferent Gail who is probably used to an arguing youth at the camp, who talks over you, isn't ready for any constructive suggestions like if you charge $50 to rent a canoe for half a day you should not need to give customers crappy patched up ones. And if you do then be capable of taking constructive criticism since they are ones who may die or get paralysed as a result of your negligence. To the business owner. You will lose customers because of Gail, she needs to be replaced by someone with compassion and common sense. Guys who give you kayaks must inspect them for damage prior to letting people use them. And don't be greedy, buy new ones instead of putting patches in them. read more

As most camping trips start out, it is a few friends deciding to go off into the wood and perhaps hit the river for some fun.... this is precisely how my introduction to the Landers campgrounds started. Since that first faithful trip 16 years ago we have been going back to the same site every year and a large part of that is because of how amazing the staff and atmosphere at the Landers Campgrounds! Over the years our group has grown from a shade under 10 people to as large as 80+, and from all over the US and the world (New England, South, West Coast, Costa Rica and South Africa) The Narrowsburg site is perfect and offers the simple amenities which make even the "I hate camping" people love it. Between the bathrooms, shower houses, supplies and food at the cabin, the Lander Campgrounds allow us city dwellers to enjoy the outdoors without feeling completely lost in the woods. The river access is great for cooling off on those extremely hot days and the big open field is great for all sorts of outdoor games. We look forward to this trip every year, spending time with the amazing Landers staff and getting away from the bright lights of the big city to enjoy the sounds and relaxation of the great outdoors. We stayed this past weekend at the Skinner's Falls campground and we had a blast! We stayed at site number 52 which we were told were the more secluded sites and were very pleased with the site. Our view of the river was great and there was good tree coverage which was nice when the sun was out. There were field sites that had no tree coverage so we were actually lucky. It did get a little rowdy at night which we were told happens at this campground at night by the woman taking our reservation over the phone. The staff was pretty good about handling it though. The security wasn't much help but the manager there went to the sites for us and spoke with them. It seemed to have worked because the music was lowered to at least a decent level. The river was a little muddy due to all the rain but the rafting trip was a lot of fun. All in all we had a fun time. It was nice to be able to drink and kick back with friends and not get in trouble like at a state park. We will definitely go back. read more

I wish I had read the previous reviews before choosing Landers campground for our holiday weekend camping trip. While our rafting trip was a lot of fun, the camping experience was all-around terrible. The camp sites are all right on top of one another in a big empty field with no trees or anything, and as the previous reviewer mentioned, Landers obviously caters to a Latino crowd whose idea of "camping" is NOT what I had in mind. The people at the sites near ours had brought in huge speakers and noisemakers, and blasted their music, honked car horns, and blared their vuvuzelas and other noisemakers allll night. When I went over at 3AM to ask them to turn the music down, they just stared at me rudely and flat-out refused. Other members of my group also asked them to quiet down throughout the night, but the noise continued through 4, 5, 6, 7 AM, and beyond. When we complained to the Landers staff in the middle of the night, they told us that other groups had also complained, but there was "nothing they could do about it." Additionally, we got up on Saturday morning after zero sleep to discover that the water throughout the campground wasn't working, so there was no running water in the bathhouse or from any of the pumps at the campsites. We spoke to the staff later that day and let them know that we would be cutting our trip short due to the excessive noise and the out-of-service facilities, and asked for a partial refund. The manager we spoke to was excessively rude and defensive, and refused to address our issues or refund any of our payment (though we did later get a partial refund by phone after threatening to place a hold on our credit card for the entire payment). All in all, Landers was a terrible facility with a rude staff, and the experience could not have been further from the nice relaxing weekend I was hoping for. read more

Me and my daughter love visting the Minisink campground every year. From the time we call to book our trip to the time we leave we are greeted by the friendliest and most helpful staff. They even carried the wood I purchased to my site for me as they saw I had a small child. I really would recommend this campground for anyone with a family (especially one with small children). My daughter is five years old and just loves being in the water. The tubing is great for her. It's not too long but at the same time has a couple rapids in it so she thinks it's way more adventurous then it really is. The bathrooms are always really clean compared to some of the other Lander's locations we've tried (Narrowsburg and Skinner's Falls). Those are a lot bigger campgrounds too so for the two of us they are not really ideal. I would definitely recommend Lander's to anyone with or without a family. They are just great folks! read more
