Enjoying the outdoors in a hammock.

We tent camped for 4 days at Kittatiny and it was a great experience. Beautiful setting with spots available overlooking a river or creek. Some sites had electric, all had water and a picnic table. The fire rings were really small, but we made do. The staff was really friendly. I've never seen cleaner bathrooms and their camp store has amazing. Truly has it all, so don't worry if you forget something. There were maintenance people coming around frequently emptying the trash bins and one day they took our trash for us and gave us an empty bag. Only downsides were proximity to a major, and noisy, road as well as several noisy campers who played music really loud. This is far from tranquil, but is beautiful with amazing staff!

We rented canoes from Kittatinny Canoes; we were a group of around 30 people. The registration process was simple enough, we had to sign a waiver. They accept cash as well as credit cards. We did the 11 mile(4.5 hour) trip from Dingmans to Bushkill. The cost was around 45$ per person which seemed a little excessive to me. I guess I was expecting a discount since we were such a large group. I believe they do offer discounts, but you have to register in advance and pay some deposit. They provide free ride back to the base after you reach the end of your trip. Kittatinny Canoes offers a number of options for outdoor activities - canoeing/kayaking/tubing/ziplining/paint ball etc. Their website is really good and provides a lot of details. As for the canoeing trip itself, the water was calm although not very inviting for swimming. We had a great time. Canoeing is a bit of hard work but it's fun! It takes a while to get the hang of rowing/steering but it's not rocket science. One thing that would have been helpful if the folks at the counter/handling the canoes gave some tips to the newbies on how to paddle/steer. We didn't have much issue since most of us had paddled before but I can see that some people might have a little trouble at first.

Last year I wrote a bad review for this company and now I'd like to update it as they have redeemed themselves with great service in 2017. We had a fiasco that resulted in the loss of two of our kayaks. (Go ahead, laugh... we've been doing this two day trip for over a decade and I never imaged BEING the idiot that does such a thing, but... it happened) long story short, two star employees 'Kelly & Justin' walked two rigs up river to our island camp site from a nearby take-out and saved the day. On top of all that, our bus driver was awesome & everything ran on time and we couldn't be happier. Thought I'd take the time to say thanks. It was a huge step up from our previous year.

Terrific fun! I brought 14 friends, we took the 11 mile novice trip. We had 5 canoes and 2 kayaks!

My experience form beginning to end was fantastic. I think one thing that seems to bother most people is the BBQ lunch. The BBQ lunch was apart of my package and when I arrived they were just loading the buns to be taken out on the river. I'm getting a little ahead of myself here but you'll understand in a minute. When I arrived, there were already several eager adventurous folks checking in, buying waterproof items for sale, collecting their water rafts and some even already on the water. I checked in with my Groupon and as directed, I left my keys - collected my Kayak and proceeded to the bus. Please note, the rule is, everyone must wear a mask until you're actually on the water; great rule as it gets crowded in the shop as well as on the bus. It keeps everyone safe. I chose the kayak experience which was awesome but the real fun is in a tube. After my journey down the river, I immediately purchase another Groupon just so that I could come back and have a tubing experience. So, back to the BBQ lunch. By the time I paddles my way down (a few signs for the waters edge for direction) to the BBQ shack on the water, they were still setting up. I guess I paddle too fast. I decided to keep moseying down the river as I had already packed a lunch just in case after reading the reviews about the BBQ shack not being up and running. Oh well, next time I'll enjoy a burger. Again, this is the perfect mid week escape. The ride outside of NY is quick and there's plenty of parking. Although it says Delaware tubing it's actually located in New Jersey; well at least the border between the two. I would recommend going early and taking as much time as you like in a tube with family and friends. I would also recommend bringing children as they will develop a lifelong love of being on the water. I'm a big fan now and I can't wait to return in a few weeks. P.S. I was told by my bus driver, they offer a fall foliage experience where they only allow kayaks on the river.

They do mention that there are "category 1" rapids but it's compared to maybe hitting a speed bump at 20mph. Be sure to stop along the way as the route is beyond beautiful and worthy of docking your kayak or raft for a quick swim. Staff is super helpful and know what they're doing - 10/10 im coming back here in the next few weeks Update: been coming here a few times every summer for the past 4 years and have become a huge fan of the 3 day overnight camping trips that they offer. The conveyor belted ramp helps us save our energy as pulling the rubber tube up required one. It was not that high when i reached the top - was very deceiving looking from the bottom. The ramp has about 6 lanes so the line moves so fast. The staff was nice and giving each tuber a good push. There is an option to dive to your tube. The slope was slanted and curving up at the end so everyone automatically stopped. A waiver needs to be signed before paying the $15 admission fare. They gave a tag that is required to wear. It shows that you were given access climbing up to the top. I heard that each rider is allowed to come up and down as many times as he want within the two hour time frame. We get bored at round 4. Kids will definitely enjoy it. Doesn't need to be staying in one of the resort villas to be in. Free parking is available . There is a restaurant by the ticket window that anyone can hang out before it after the tube run. A good place to visit when in the area.

We spent $200 to wait for 30 minutes to go down once. It's clear that they just wanted to pack as many people as they could onto the hill, regardless of how long the wait times would be. We paid for 2 hours of tubing, but we stayed for one ride, which was a 30 minute wait, so we would MAYBE get to go down the hill 4 times, if we were lucky. Couldn't even be bothered to wait to go down again, it was so not worth it. If they're actually following the 50% capacity requirement now I can't even imagine what the wait times would be like at full capacity. Total rip-off. Save your money and your time, and go somewhere else to snow tube.

Campsite (3/5): These are a bit stacked on top of each other but our group had two next to each other so it didn't impact us too much. Ambiance (4/5): These campsites are right on the water which is absolutely stunning! You really feel like you're in nature, but there is a major road near the top campsites and even by the water you can hear road noise. There was a huge group at the top which partied into the night though we're up late anyhow and it was no issue for us. Consider earplugs if you're not like us. Bathrooms (4/5): These were relatively clean for a campground bathroom. Minus a star here because on the last day the women's room was out of order -- but I believe it was due to another guest, as a member of our party heard someone say "oh no it's not flushing!" TL;DR: Great for those late-into-the-night campers. If you stay here make sure you get a waterfront spot.

There is trash everywhere. Truly everywhere. Many people don't bother using the trash bins and instead leave their garbage behind for someone else to deal with. Public spaces and facilities aren't treated with much care; we saw gum, trash, and random items tossed into the gas fire pits, and people taking selfies often seemed to take priority over respecting others' personal space. We were fortunate to have rented a condo outside the resort, but the behavior we encountered at the resort itself was very similar, plus a few additional moments we could have done without, including someone blowing their nose into their bare hand and whipping it onto the floor. My family and I are doing the 50‑state challenge, and we chose Camelback Mountain as our Pennsylvania destination. Had we realized how close it was to NYC, we likely would have picked somewhere else. The mountain is beautiful, and the resort has a lot of potential, but they were out of almost everything across the property. On‑site restaurants had limited availability, and the posted hours weren't accurate. There's also very little to do outside the resort at this time of year. I'd recommend skipping the "largest general store in the country", the condition of their petting zoo alone will have you wanting to start an animal rescue.

That said, I recommend you get here as early as possible if you plan to rent equipment!! It's also very helpful to reserve your gear and lift tickets ahead of time. That will make the gear check out process a bit easier/faster. We arrived around 1pm, and stood in a ridiculously long line to get our gear... All in all, we spent a little over an hour and a half just waiting for our gear. We were pretty annoyed by this, so if you're looking to spend more time on the slopes, get here EARLY!!! Parking is free, but also very difficult to find the later you get here... So keep that in mind as well. They have lockers all over the premises to lock up your things. You'll have to pay to rent them and I believe the only option is to pay for the whole day. Regarding crowdedness... There were really long wait times at the ski lifts, which was very annoying and often frustrating. I get that they have upgraded systems that scan our lift tickets each time we ride, however it created a lot of chaos regarding the lines. I was not a fan. Also, the number of people who were just SITTING in the middle of the slopes, blocking the way was incredibly annoying and also dangerous. There were a LOT of people doing this... I get that it can be scary going down the slopes, especially if it's your first time, however MOVE TO THE SIDE if you're not planning on going anywhere. To end on a brighter note, we were surprised to discover that they offer night skiing here! So arriving later in the day didn't affect us too much as we continued skiing until after 7pm. As beginners, we only needed about 3-4 hours of ski time so it worked out great for us! Not sure if we would come back here or not, but we're definitely glad we tried it out at least once!
