Okay, I admit it. My make-up routine had gotten pretty stale. I think I was using the same brand of liquid eyeliner that I had since middle-school, so Dillard's summer cosmetics showcase was going to be my opportunity to shake things up a bit. Because I was most impressed with Lancome's presentation, I entrusted them with my blank slate, my make-up free face.
Kathy, Lancome's professional make-up artist, was in charge of my cosmetic re-education. Throughout the entire makeover (which was free by the way), she gave me useful hints about picking out the right shade of foundation, applying foundation and blush for optimal coverage and effect, and selecting the best lipstick for my skin tone. I felt entirely at ease with her during the whole experience.
Wow, when I finally looked in the mirror...well, I looked like a vixen. I felt so glamorous, I just wanted to let my hair down, throw on a pair of stilettos and hit the club. Too bad it was 10 am on a Sunday morning and I had yard work waiting for me. So I bought a stick of Black Coffee Kohl eyeliner (I'd never seen my eyes so smoky!) for $23 and headed home.
Having to go home to pulls weeds was probably the best test I could have put my new makeover through. No matter how hard I worked in the heat of the sun, my foundation never melted and my eye shadow never creased. I'm definitely going back to add these items to my make-up bag. Let's just say I'm pretty sure that I'll be a Lancome junkie from now on. read more
