I've had to wait several hours on one occasion and didn't even get to shut the truck off before I pulled into the bay on another occasion. They carry an unbelievable amount of commercial trucks tires along with an equally unbelievable amount of heavy equipment tires. Can't say anything about normal car tires, light duty truck tires or ATV tires. I saw small lawn tires, ATV tires and the like being fixed and replaced when waiting. Basically it looks like they do it all when it comes to tires.

He gave me a quote of $3,000+ to replace the engine. However, he recommended that I junk the car. He said he'd give me $350 for it and would haul it to the junk yard. I agreed, thinking the car wasn't worth another few thousand dollars since I had already put in over $1,000 at his shop. That was a few months ago. Today I drove by and saw the same car for sale. I stopped in and asked him how much he wanted for it. He told me, "Whatever I can get." The point of the story is that this guy either lied to me or he's trying to sell a hunk of junk. Steve and his shop are not trustworthy. Avoid them.

Unfortunately they discovered that the front seal was damaged. He advised me that the rebuild of the transmission would be about $4000 , but based on age and mileage more than 250k he didn't recommend that. I really respected his honesty and advice. He could have tried to convince me to spend the money to fix it,but he didn't. That kind of honesty is rare in the auto repair business in my experience. He did give me some advice on how to keep the van running a bit longer and I appreciated that. I 100% would recommend this shop if you have transmission issues.

We also have dinner plans 6 hours away that next day and if we can't get this fixed quickly the next day we are not going to make it. We had this exact scenario happen along US50. The car suddenly starts slowing down on its own, we limped off the highway onto a (what seemed) remote road and pulled into a parking lot. Instantly I'm checking Yelp for towing services and repair facilities. I found that we were just a short distance from Athens Transmission. They were closed, but I made sure my vehicle was there waiting for them first thing in the morning. Patrick contacted me first thing, just before they opened. He said they should be able to take a look at it today. He asked if I was just passing through, which I was. I had a nice lady that was willing to drive us to and from our BNB and I didn't want to put her out. About 11am that morning Patrick called to let me know it was all finished and ready to pick up. I was stunned! I was already looking for car rentals or a Uhaul to drive home. He explained it was just a radiator hose and they had one in stock and were able to get me on the road right away. We are so grateful! I know they were busy, but they were able to squeeze us in and get us back on the road. What a team! We even made our dinner arrangements :) When I received the follow up a couple days later to check that all was well, I was even more impressed. A great team, friendly people, impressive service, and professional follow up. I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND Athens Transmission and their amazing service!

Test drove it and was interested. They brought out how much and it was 12k more than the one posted online. We got up to leave the gm came out with an attitude about us leaveing. Following day we returned i wanted a truck they wanted to sell one. Paul did everything he could to find a truck that fit us in every way. So we purchased the truck (so we thought). A month and a half went buy tried calling the bank to get logged in to my account so i could make my payment with no luck (i called them 8 times). I called don wood to see if the finance person could help me get in touch with them and was told id get called back after they got back from lunch. I waited 3 weeks for that call. The day my payment was supposed to be due don wood called me and said "hey we need the vin number off from your truck". I asked what for "when we got ur loan we accidentally got it for the wrong truck so you dont currently have a loan for any truck so we need to verify the vin to get you put in for your loan". At this point i was over the crap and told them i wanted my down payment back and returned the truck to them. Probably could get a decent car if you dont mind an attitude and verify the vin on every piece of paper. Might as well go to a smaller dealership and take your chances because obviously even don wood cant do it right.
