Love the Lancaster Library! Located on Broadway in the village of Lancaster, it's very accessible to many by foot, as well as by car now that they expanded the parking lot behind the library. If you park behind the library, you have to walk up a flight of stairs but this entrance is also handicap accessible. The library is great- large selection of kids books and DVDs (including blu ray!). DVDs are sorted by Blu ray, non-fiction, and fiction, sorted by first letter of their title. They also have a good selection of CDs and adult non-fiction and fiction. There are a bunch of computers too, and even one setup with large font in the large print corner! There's a fireplace with comfy chairs surrounding it, right near the magazine section, so grab one and pop a squat. They also pull out new books and DVDs and have a list of NY Times best sellers for the month. In the community room, they have some used books and CDs for sale. This library also hosts numerous classes for children and adults, including how to learn to use technology classes. Love the self-service checkouts which still amaze me (you place all your items on at once and it can detect them all- amazing!) On my last visit I left with 3 CDs, 2 DVDs, and a book. Looking forward to enjoying this library more! Looking forward to coming back here soon

I was there in early May when everything is just starting. They had a little library book sale and I picked up a David Sedaris book for a quarter. There is a great children's section. There is also a wonderful remembrance area for Flight 3407, in the back. This library also had a cute Sherlock Holmes display case that was donated to the library. This library is clean and beautifully maintained. The librarians were friendly as well. There is a large parking lot. For a Friday afternoon it was quite busy. They had a great work area for people wanting a quiet space.

Plus they were open later, which is convenient for us. So after work, off we went. The Clarence Library has plenty of parking in a big lot, which was light-and-bright on a cold, dark night. As soon as you walk in, you can see the full expanse of the vaulted, open space. It is a nice-sized library, with well-marked sections. Movies are to the right, adult books to the left, teen and children materials in the back, periodicals in the back-right corner, with all the other sections you'd expect to find at a library somewhere in between. There were computer workstations spread out in pod-like setups throughout the space, a few together in each pod, and some chunks of seating areas too. It took me a minute to find my Harry Potter items, as the books were not in Youth or YA, but rather in a separate "Series" section in the middle of the library. And the movies were in a separate "Family Viewing" section, too. But a friendly librarian helped me find everything that I needed, which was all in stock. Clarence is a very nice, bright, inviting library. When we need something and the hours/availability are convenient again at Clarence Library, we'll be back! :-)

Inside, the library has light streaming in it and books everywhere. There is ample seating as well if you would like to study in a quiet setting. The librarians that I saw were very friendly and welcoming. They offered a variety of items for sale as well including books, CDs, DVDs. When I walked in, there was a bagged craft immediately there for all the kids who are interested in crafting based on books. Their children's section is also very large and provides some play items as well. There are many computers for use as well.

There's a large children's section including play area. Large collections of DVDs organized by genre (with some Blueray), CDs, non-fiction (which is very well labeled), teen and graphic novel sections, fiction, and new books called out separately. They also have a small room that's an ongoing book sale and prices were good. Librarians were friendly when I was there. I really like the elevated ceilings, decor, and size. I used to come here often 15 years ago and much hasn't changed since then but the library is still in good shape. Would come back here to work, study, or read a magazine.

This library is right next to a Spot Coffee, so definitely a very plausible idea to grab a good book and walk next-door to enjoy a few pages over some joe. The library space is light-and-bright. It is a long, narrower space with computers and some seating down the middle. All of the usual sections you'd expect to find in a typical library are here, just with a smaller selection than the larger branches. Fiction, nonfiction, periodicals, children and YA, and a decent size set of shelves for DVDs/Bluerays; it's all here on a smaller scale. The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System as a whole recently permanently waived hold fees. So if you're regularly near the Eggertsville-Snyder branch, keep in mind if they don't have what you want it is free to have it sent here on hold for you. I LOVE the holds service, and use it regularly and very reliably at a different branch. I'm sure it would be the same great service here. Our fam' are regular patrons at the public library. For starters, you can't beat free! Beyond that, our library system has such an excellent collection of any media we want or need. The Eggertsville-Snyder branch location is just another neighborhood option to be engaged with all of the wonderful things, both products and services, that our beloved library system has to offer.
