I want to give this library a 5 star review, but I have to take away a star for my recent visit. I went in requesting 7 political science books (two being more along the lines of nonfiction; Fire and Fury, and Team of Vipers). In all fairness, Team of Vipers is a new book so I assumed it wouldn't be available yet. However, of the other 6, they only carried one .. the other nonfiction book, Fire and Fury. The other books we're all American government/politics/parties books. I was shocked they didn't carry any of these books at this library, nor anything along these lines of general American Politics/Government. They did carry all but one of the other books at another location that can be transferred over for .25 but still, the whole section was just so so small. It is disappointing. If you are looking for political science books, head downtown to the Central library if you wish to browse; otherwise, as I stated, you can have materials transferred. Other than this, I love this library! It is always clean, well-lit, and beautifully maintained inside and out. The staff is so nice and helpful. There are signs posted to help you figure out where to look for the types of books you want (great for library-illiterate folks like me). You can use a self-checkout where you scan your library card and set all of your books on a scale-like platform. So easy! Then, you can choose to email or print or receipt that has your due dates. Most books allow for 3 weeks. You can extend these if needed, as long as no one is waiting. I am someone who prefers non-fiction type books, especially homocide/serial killer stories. They have a great selection of good books. My son has also found many good books here during his elementary school years. You can also find music, audiobooks, and DVDs to checkout here. There are many events for adults, children, and families here. You can also download free music on freegalmusic.com thanks to the library (you can download the app as well). On the library site, you can search for anything you want and see what's available. Here, you can also make requests, holds, and/or put your name on a waitlist if something is checked out. Also convenient, they have a 24 hour drive through drop off! Excellent library overall; much preferred over the Williamsville location.

Spacious library wth lots of large windows. Great place to sit and read both inside and outside! Outside, theres a paved walkway around the building with benches that are spread out, as well as a beautiful children's garden. Inside, there are some comfy chairs by windows and quite a few tables spread out throughout library. It's really a great place to read or work for awhile. Children's area is a 1/4 of library and has an area for them to play, but the majority of the library space seems dedicated to adults. There's a small teen section as well. Tons of DVDs organized by genre (fitness, foreign, travel, children, Classics (anything before 1960), as well tv shows. For books, they have a good collection of non-fiction and fiction. Here after hours? Drop box is on the right side of the building.

Awesome library! Best in the Buffalo and Erie County Public Library system that I've been to. This place is nice and spacious, clean, and well organized. It feels more like a college library (a nice one!) than a public library. There are several outlets near tables to plug in laptops, plenty of public use computers too. I saw several seniors sitting and using the computers. That's a nice change. And no kids being loud or running around. I love that they have a magazine exchange. You can drop some off and take which you'd like in exchange. There's also a used book room so you can buy used media. If you're a die hard fan of Three's Company, they had the entire series on DVD, 2 for $1! Get them while you can! Haha! I didn't have time to rummage through the majority of the space but I will be back all summer long. Can you believe these resources are free to us?! I love public libraries!

I would be lying through my teeth if I said that I didn't miss this beautiful sleepy suburb of Buffalo very much. Living here is in many ways paradise and if I compare it to where I've lived before - in the heart of the sweaty San Fernando Valley or in the humidity of Houston close to downtown or even in my little tiny houses in Oxford and Manchester (England) and don't get me started on dorm rooms in Washington DC area... I have to say that living in Clarence was the best of all of them. So you're not near any good restaurants and you're far away from the highway (despite it running through Clarence, thanks for the toll road morons), and that sucks, as does the weather in winter, but living out in the country with the beautiful air, the greenery, the fields, the animals and everything is the most beautiful thing, and although much of Clarence is more built up now, much of it isn't. The food options aren't as good as in some of the other suburbs, but that doesn't bother me at all. I can drive to wherever is needed for food... I wouldn't live anywhere other than Clarence in this area after living here. I couldn't go back to Amherst or any of those other burbs because living out in the countryside is like paradise, or in this case, "Claredise." By the way, watch out for the evil insects here. They will literally kill you. Hence the town name, "Killerants, NY." I prefer taller ants though. They are more peaceful. They have a live-and-let-live attitude. Which is why they are called Tolerance. Plus I found my lovely Starlight and my lovely Son here. It will always be one of my favourite towns in the country and I miss it so much.

One is to pick up Wagyu beef at the local farm. The other is to see a friend who lives out here. So I've spent a little time in town walking around. It's cute. Very. Nice little coffee shop and a few stores. Surrounded by farmland and working farms. Some horse barns too. Very close to the city, but still has flavor of the country. Looking forward to spending more time here.

This library has been one of my three main ones to frequent in our area. On a more recent visit, picking up classic movies..both MA MA Mias...I found my self checking out their bulletin board on upcoming events. This is what brings me to my review....events and things to do were a variety for kids and adults. This particular library has adult color kits, and had a sign posted for paint night. Glad to have signed up...Kim our intrustor was helpful and patient for any of us with questions. There were a total of 13, with the instructor. The event was a creative, simple and each of us had different interpretations of the original painting. A bonus for all of us, Kim is an elementary art teacher. Great, stress-free relaxing evening...guess one never knows what they will find at your local library. Thanks Kim and Lancaster Library for hosting the event.

My quest to explore various Erie Country library branches had us landing in Lancaster last week…read more WOW, what a beautiful branch! It's an expansive, open main space with a dome-shaped vaulted ceiling adorned with big glowing orbs of bright light. A bit poetic of a description maybe, but this space really feels poetic. Even if you don't need anything from the library, it would be worth a visit. There is a massive copper fireplace, such a darling place to relax or study, just a lovely aesthetic in general here. If you are coming for particular resources, there's a good chance that the Lancaster location has what you need. There are many cubicle-style computer workstations in the middle of the room. In the front adjacent to a big wall of windows is the children's area. My son had fun with the legos and other blocks, as well as found a cozy spot to do his homework. There are several rows of DVDs and CDs along the middle-side wall, with the opposite wall housing stacks and stacks of books in all the genres you'd expect. Magazines are in the back near the fireplace. I like the "new" displays at this library, and actually came across a new book I forgot I wanted to read (the newer Demi Moore tell-all biography, winning!), plus there were newly released DVD and CD racks too. Perusing the rows and rows of materials to find something that catches your eye can be intimidating in any library, so I appreciate when librarians take time to showcase new offerings that may spark interest. Parking for this library is in the rear off of a side road, and there is plenty of it. When you enter the back door, it is a flight of stairs or an elevator ride to get up a level to the main space. The main space has some vending options if you want a beverage or snack. And there appears to be lots of community programming happening her too, with racks of flyers and many bulletin boards of happenings for people of all ages and varying interests. Checkout the library website for specifics. I really enjoyed hanging out here for a couple hours with my husband and son. My son did his homework, played with toys, he and his dad played checkers for a while, we all relaxed and read a bit, and found some things to bring home. What more could you ask, the Lancaster library is a very pleasant, solid branch. Come and enjoy!

It is a long, narrower space with computers and some seating down the middle. All of the usual sections you'd expect to find in a typical library are here, just with a smaller selection than the larger branches. Fiction, nonfiction, periodicals, children and YA, and a decent size set of shelves for DVDs/Bluerays; it's all here on a smaller scale. The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library System as a whole recently permanently waived hold fees. So if you're regularly near the Eggertsville-Snyder branch, keep in mind if they don't have what you want it is free to have it sent here on hold for you. I LOVE the holds service, and use it regularly and very reliably at a different branch. I'm sure it would be the same great service here. Our fam' are regular patrons at the public library.
