LOVELY to look at, but not exactly a smooth experience. I had a small flood in my bathroom the first night and the desk spent a lot of time trying to blame me. It was unbelievable! You cannot plug the bathroom sink, the stopper does not go down (understandable), yet they kept implying that I allowed the water to overflow. That would have been impossible, yet they implied it more than once. There was a feeble, "sorry" from one of the employees, but nothing else. In addition, apparently their heating system is set up to be the same temperature in every room on each floor. My traveling companions said they had a very warm room and I did hear another guest say his room was hot. My room was very cool. I was working on a project on my laptop, not moving around in the room, and it was getting cold. Too bad. This hotel is not inexpensive. It's overpriced. read more

We booked a stay here for 2 nights and upon checking in, noticed that our shower does not work at all. The staff had not other rooms to move us to and refused to process a refund. And of course this was a booking.com reservation which made it worse. The hotel management was completely clueless and inept and could not resolve this. read more

Stayed here in August for a few days while traveling around Ireland. It was the nicest place we stayed. It was a nice location and short walk to all the businesses and English Market. The public areas were nice and clean as was the room. It was hot when we were there and this room was the most insulated from the heat. It was our best sleep during our trip! The parking lot was large enough to accomodate all customers and was free. The wifi worked well. We loved walking around University College nearby. We will be staying here again the next time we are in Cork. read more

Service was very friendly. Facilities were very clean. I had a room on 4th floor and it was very spacious. It loses a star for being a bit outdated and for not having any food or drink. I had to hike five blocks after driving all day and jet lag. read more

Had a fairly pleasant stay here. It's in a good location, the breakfast was only mildly bland (which is a bonus considering that it's made in ireland), and there are plenty of teas and coffees in the rooms + yummy biscuits! (although if you ask me biscuits should be standard in any hotel room... after all... what are we paying them for?). The service was satisfactory. The only gripes would be that the beds, pillows particularly, were very hard and uncomfortable, and throughout the duration of my stay the TV signal was very unreliable... particularly when neighbours was supposed to be on. I probably would have held more positive memories had Cork as a whole been a little more interesting, a lot warmer, and had I not had to endure listening to my entirely cretinous sister witter on incessantly. read more

This was my second stay at the Lancaster Lodge, the first being well over six years ago. It seemed less boutique on this visit. If anything it reminded me of a Premier Inn, which is probably because of the colour scheme - purple. But over all it was a good one night stay in Cork. There is free parking - bonus! There is free WiFi - awesome! It's only five minutes to Patrick Street - fantastic! The two ladies we dealt with at reception were both very nice. I had emailed a few days ahead to see if we needed to reserve a parking space and if our room would have a bath. We didn't and it did - or rather the email responder said she would allocate us a room with a bath - how nice. The room was nice. Clean, but a tad chilly. The sheets were crisp. The bathroom was nice and very clean. The water was excellent, high pressure heaven. For 88 EUR it was grand. This was the best price I could get and it was from their own website. read more

Decent hotel not quite in the heart of everything, but within reasonable walking distance. Room was quiet and had a view of the river. Parking is usually available and staff was pleasant. read more

It was absolute luck that we landed here while in Cork. The staff is great, free onsite parking (a major point in my book), walking distance to stores, restaurants and bus stops.. and other spots. Breakfast in the morning for a nominal charge, although no other meals are served tea/coffee is available in the room. The windows do open, but I suggest you also ask for a fan to help keep the air moving. If/when I return to Cork this is where I want to stay - what more can I say? read more
