I wish I could upload a photograph of my bill. I have solar. I installed enough grids to cover about 90% of our use. Instead of paying just $1-10/mo for power, I pay about $50 charged by LCE...PLUS SCE "DELIVERY CHARGES." This whole thing is a racket. Nope, nope, nope! After a staggering end of the year bill of $933 just for "delivery charges" I decided to look into what this second charge is each month. Today I found out it's LCE. My electricity = $1.51 LCE =$47.08 SCE delivery =$105.48 HIGHWAY ROBBERY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am hoping that changing to just SCE will lower my bill, based on the other reviews I see here. Seven months after moving out of Lancaster, I get a "Notice of Overdue Payment" from these folks. Which is very confusing, seeing as I have never received a bill from them in my life. Their claim is that I didn't pay SCE (who would then have paid them), and I need to talk to SCE to pay my bill. The problem? SCE says I've paid off every bill they've ever sent me. They *have* no bill for me to pay. So to recap... LCE (the company that doesn't bill me) says I'm overdue, and I need to rectify this by calling SCE to pay my bill. SCE (the company that does bill me) says I've always paid my bill and am current. But it's my fault for not paying the bill they never sent me, right? I'd quit these people if I were still a customer, but as I said, I moved out of town last year. So on top of screwy billing practices, they're slow, too. read more

God know who is behind this Co. "Lancaster Choice Energy " Who ever it is they have a long straw. Sucking up $100's if not $1,000's of Dollars. From people like me. I am a 63 year old single woman that has a caregiver who takes care of paying bill among other personal things that I need help with also I have a Medical Baseline, because I am on oxygen. So I pay a lower price When I moved 3 years ago and transferred my edison account. I was told that Lancaster Choice Energy was cheaper bal bal bal. My last house my edison bill was $47 a month most of the time. Since I live here the last 3 years. I have struggling hard with the light bill has more than double. I had not realized how out of control this bill had become since my caregiver handles my bills. Not until he was asking for help from Maravilla. The Bill was $600 overdue plus $160 current. By calling Edison I found out Edison charger me $20 that month and LCE was billing me $140. . At this point I told my caregiver I needed to cancel LEC. He called but they talked him out of it by saying that it was Edison that was charging to much. E#dison said it was LEC. so he just kind of left it. This is what I found out today.When anyone wants to cancel LEC you can't you have to opt out, then they keep you for 6 months longer. How can a Power Co. keep me for 6 more months? I recieved an overdue bill notice from over 2 years ago! No one can tell me why I'm recieved it so far past the due date, or why I can't even access my account that was closed in January to view the charges. All they can say it that it was a computer error... yet the charges themselves can't possibly be a computer error?! You owe us almost $300, pay us now or else we'll send you to collections. ABSOLUTE BS! Because the bill is so old, I have no way to retrieve proof of payment or payment history. Do yourself a favor and opt out of LCE. If you live in Lancaster you are automatically enrolled and must opt out manually. It's never soon enough as they will send bogus bills to you years later. read more

I would give zero stars if I could. I don't know how it's legal to auto enroll someone in their program without any consent whatsoever. I just moved into a new house and received my first Edison bill. It was more than double of what it should be so I logged on to my Edison account and found 2 accounts attached to my name and address. Edison told me that this company auto enrolls you and then you have to call and opt out of their program. I never knew I had this program and now they claim that I owe them $275 for using their energy! This company needs to rethink how they get " customers" before they end up getting sued! Every body better check their bills from SCE as LCE is charging customers for previous bills allready paid...Called SCE they said they just bill for LCE..Called LCE They Said its a known issue and they will not notify SCE to remove the duplicate charges Quote if you know you paid it just don't pay it Quote they will not send you anything. This is Fraud by any Means of the law knowing you have a billing issue and not fixing it !!! Here's my latest update with Lancaster Choice energy. After my last review I contacted Lancaster Choice energy spent some time on the phone with one of their service employees they sent me an email with a form that I print out which was an opt-out of the program document the representative from Lancaster Choice energy said at the bottom I should write in there that I am requesting to be opted out immediately she said that they will do it as soon as I received the form this is what I did I mailed them to form and then today I received a bill from Edison for $92.83 that's it I'm done I'm hiring an attorney I'm going to sue these bastards both Edison and Lancaster Choice energy I've had it!! They're all bunch of liars and thieves legalize crime syndicate we need their CEOs put in prison! read more

I just got my bill for December and LCE is now going away with the True Up in Oct. I now have to pay for each month I use. Meanwhile since SCE charges for the Delivery Fee, SCE true's up in Oct. For the past 5 years, I have always added about $45 each month to my Account to go into the Negative when I use less energy and then when the True up Date comes in Oct, I have all the money to pay the Total Cost of energy I used. I called today to see if I can switch back to the True up date in Oct and they gave me a 'canned' response telling me that there 'customers' complained so much they changed their policy. I'm going back to Edison. They have not thought this through very well. I am very frustrated with LCE and the fact that they can't accommodate their customers. read more

Simply the most dishonest and egregious scam I have ever fallen for. Rex and Company should be ashamed, but it's not likely, is it? They paint a pretty pic but my power bill doubled! I have solar and can't keep trac of who is billing what. Once you sign up, you can't get out for a year. Then when you come to your senses and want out, you have to pay to leave! Caveat Emptor! Honestly they aren't very forth coming about how much your bill is going to cost. Since SCE still bills for tiered delivery at their standard rates if you have solar get ready to receive two true up bills. Once for SCE's expensive delivery and one for Lancaster Choice Energy's "Green" energy which basically just means "expensive". You pay an additional $0.14 cents per kilowatt hour to LCE when you could pay that as a tier 1 rate with Edison for the generation and delivery! What a scam! read more
