Had the car towed and they got to it the same day even though they initially told me it would be a day or two. Turned out to be something just not making contact and they took care of it no extra charge. Obviously every situation is different. These guys do the best auto electric work in Lancaster. I have taken them multiple vehicles with a multitude of issues. They always find the problem and fix it correctly. Their prices are reasonable for their quality work and knowledge. Only issue is sometimes it takes a week or two to get an appointment because they are in high demand. Lancaster Auto Electric is the bomb. The place runs like a fast food restaurant except when it's your turn to order, you're treated like you're the only person there. Johnny is the guy. Kinda like In the movies: the Producer, the Director and the Actor, that's Johnny. His associates are the key grips, etc. He listens, he asks questions - he was great. So, my Excursion has some weird electrical problem. It took some time to diagnose, but after they figured it out, I was quoted a price to fix it. Well, it's almost CHRISTmas so I said, "not right now". Johnny completely understood and honored his original estimate even after all they did! Wow! I went in to get the cigarette lighter in my 96 Camry fixed. The only electrical problem I'm having. They told me the base price is $25 to fix the fuse which is the usual problem but if it turns out to be something else it could be more. After over a half hour they come back and tell me all of the fuses are fine and they'll need to buy a new socket, take my radio or and all this stuff for $90. I then tell them about the old guy who fixed it right out of his house in a couple minutes. I watched him pull the socket out, tweak a wire and put it back. They say there's no way it's that simple and you CANT just pull out without taking everything apart, until I say I'll just go somewhere else. Then they leave and come back one minute later and say the socket was just disconnected and it came right out and they fixed it. $25. I wish to God I still had that old guy's number. I know I look stupid but I also know I don't look like I have $90 to throw away on some nonsense. Bad hustle. 1 star, I won't be back. read more

I have a 2005 Ford cargo van. When under acceleration, vacuum leak caused the air conditioning system to blow through the defrost vents instead of vents aimed at me and my passenger, which is very irritating in hot weather. Many times I had passed the shop and I noticed the A/C service sign by the street. I finally stopped in, dropped off the van and caught a Lyft ride back home. It was ready the next day; they made a workaround to solve the problem. It works perfectly now. Thanks to all in that shop. read more

Yesterday my seat in my explorer decided to get locked into the full forward position for no reason and I can barely drive it as it happens when I am out. I bring the car to the Ford dealership as it was on the way home, the repair demand was $400 to start. We fine L.A.E. on a search , call and drive in right before close. They quote me a fix of $50 just get the chair into a completely livable position and if they can completely fix it they would let me know my options. They drove me home for free also as I am local and was in slippers so I couldn't hoof it home. They fix it for less than HALF of what Ford wanted to just look at it, and without replacing a part they even fixed the Lumbar switch in the chair without even charging extra or ASKING! It was just done! I found out not he way home when my pinky hit the lumbar switch and it started to firm up for what I can safely assume is the first time in 3 years as that's how long it's been since driving my Explorer wasn't a pain in my lower back! This is the definition of Exceeding Expectations at every single turn! They excel at honest, incredible, timely work! I am a new fan and I suggest you give them your business! read more

I paid for some ABS/VSA work and a re-program at this place and they quoted me a price. They tried to reset/reprogram but stated they could not get it to reprogram and advised me it probably would need further work and probably some parts. I said "no thanks" but they (Lancaster Auto Electric) gladly took my $180. I told them I was going to go to the dealer instead. I drove directly to the dealer and they were able to reset the ABS/VSA error code in about 45 minutes, and they washed to car too! LOL it cost me $145. NO PARTS WERE NEEDED, JUST SIMPLE KNOW HOW AND THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT--at the Dealer. Sorry but Lancaster Auto Electric is not a good place to take your car. read more

went to these guys to get some led turn signal sequential lights installed on my Infiniti and they broke off brackets on my bumper and screwed in nugs thinking they fixed it that way when it only caused damage cause they drilled them in too hard that the nugs fell off and now my bumper doesn't line up to my fender. bullshit ass work, charged me so much money just to damage my car. don't come to them, Johnny's an asshole. read more

I'm really surprised I'm giving the first rating for this place as it's been around a long time. I've taken my car there on three separate occasions over the last 10 years or so. My most recent visit yesterday was because my brake lights were out. I checked the fuses and they were fine. Since I figured both lights wouldn't blow at the same time unless it was an electric problem, I brought it to them. They charged me $45.00 to inspect the car and said I could apply that to the repair. They had to replace the sockets and the bulbs which took a bit to figure out exactly what the problem was, but they only charged me the $45.00 I paid......a VERY fair price for their prompt, great service. Do NOT, under any circumstances, take your vehicle to this shop - they kept my truck for 10 DAYS, during which time their "technicians" could not find the problem with the truck despite two conversations with them, during which I was given a different excuse each time, with a promise to call back both times (was never called back). I then visited the shop to ask WTF was going on with the truck - more excuses and a "possible" problem (torque converter), which was different than the "possible problem" they gave me a week earlier (fuel pressure regulator). Today they called and told me the "technician", after 10 DAYS, was "leaning towards" recommending a new transmission. 10 DAYS to diagnosis a bad transmission.....? I will pay their diagnosis fee ($95, which does not count towards repairs just FYI) and NEVER set foot in this place ever again - no idea how they stay in business but they will NEVER get any more of mine........ read more

Used to be the best place for AC services when the old man (Owner) is there doing the work. Its reasonable prices and does a great job. Its the worst place to go there when his son is there running the place. He charges way to much. He charges $75 to $90 to diagnosis my AC, just to tell me it will cost around $1,800 to replace the Compressor because its leaking and it took him almost 2 hours and made me wait while they figured out how much they can milk me for more money. I took my car to another auto shop (AV Bumper to Bumper auto repair) instead and they just charge me $150 to repair the leak and charge my ac with refrigerant and this was at beginning of summer of 2018. Its now March 2019 my ac is still blowing cold air! They deleted my negative review last year so I am posting another one. I supposed they will delete this one also. read more

Their $95.00 "diagnosis" is a complete rip-off. They tried to charge me $385.00 to trace one ground wire to my AC compressor! They do not discount the diagnostic fee if you let them do the work like most places. Basically they tried to charge me $100.00 per hour which is double any reputable shop.
