I very rarely get my nails done (I'm talkin' once every two years rare) so I wanted to make sure I found a highly recommended, decently affordable spot to go for this special occasion, and I'm overjoyed I found Yvonne's. This salon came with a 5 star recommendation from other Yelpers who's opinions I really trust, has a great Axxess deal for $10 off your first mani/pedi or Shellac Gel mani/pedi, AND has a Yelp check in offer for $5 off the next time you come. For price, there really wasn't anything else in Santa Barbara this awesomely affordable. I called in and made an appointment for 2 a day in advance and had no trouble getting the time I needed. On the day of the appointment, my friend who was joining me in the experience got stuck at work and we had to call to extend our appointment by 30 minutes which they kindly said "No Problem" to. Once getting there, I picked out my two polishes from the multi-color option wall and waited about five minutes until she was ready for me (not bad at all). However, I was not a huge fan of the color options and would have liked to see more ocean style colors, such as blues and greens. I settled with a bright mint for my hands and a light nude tan for my toes. Once seated I played with the totally rad massage chair features, all of which worked well and felt awesome on my "tech-neck." Probably the best part about getting this mani/pedi was the massage chairs. That may be because I have such ticklish feat and shaky hands so the pedicure caused me to be slightly jumpy and giggly, which made my hands jolt a little more and the manicure to be a little harder for the gal. I'd probably recommend them not doing both hands and feet at the time (if time permits) as my hands did not turn out as well as I would have liked and after just one day the paint is slightly chipped at the top and a little jagged looking near the cuticle areas. My toes, on the other hand, I am very satisfied with and the girl who did them was sweet and worked surprisingly quick. I ended up only having to pay $30 plus tip for both hands and feet, plus the awesome massage chair, and a nice scrub and lotion service for my hands and lower legs/feet. I will definitely be back next time I have a special occasion to be pampered again for as such. My boyfriend and I came in for manicures and pedicures after work. I highly recommend their luxury treatment because the quality of service they provide is excellent. I got a gel Mani Pedi and loved the flower detail on my big toe. They were even able to add on nail polish for my boyfriend's pedicure! It was a last minute request and they were more than happy to fulfill it. They offer full-service waxing so I will provide an update after I receive that procedure. Definitely recommend this business: Got the waxing and it was fantastic and straightforward especially if you need beach ready legs ASAP. read more

I heard today that someone wrote a bad review about Mr Phu, I was chocked. I just want to let people know the truth. I live in Santa Barbara and I drive twice a month to Carpinteria to do my manicure and pedicure with Mr Phu, not just for his work but BECAUSE his massages. His massages are incredidle and very professional. If this person Evany C. wrote a bad review about him, excuse me but it is your own falt to not have a voice, you just could ask him to not do a deep tissue massage, you should blame yourself. EVERYONE that goes there, inclued my family and friends Looooves his massages. I was hesitant to give this place 4 stars but Kim did such a great job on my manicure she really changed my mind! I called to make an appointment and was asked what time? I said how about 3? Then the lady on the phone said how about 3:45. I was ok with that but why even ask me for a time when I can't be seen at the time I requested. I showed up about 10 minutes before my appointment and 3:45 came and went. By the time I was seen 20 minutes had passed. So don't be surprised if there's a wait time even if you have an appointment. But then again does a nail salon really exist where they are timely? This place is very clean and the spa chairs for pedicures look so comfy and cushiony. I will definitely be back for a pedicure. I only hope they have more staff on deck next time I go. Seemed like they took on way more customers than they could handle. Going back to Kim. She did a lovely job cleaning up my nails and took the time to make sure all was perfect. I really like how gentle she was with my cuticles. No cuts or bleeding! Thank you Kim!! You're better off going to the cosmetology students that are trying to gain experience. I wouldn't recommend this place , the man who did my foot pedicure was way too harsh and made me feel uncomfortable. I didn't catch his name but as he was "massaging" my foot . I literally shouted "ow! " He purposely squished my foot with his hands so unbelievably hard and looked up and said " I wanted to do that to get a reaction". Since apparently I was too still / calm? Very weird the one time I didn't request a woman to do my pedicure and that's what happened. Unreasonably priced as well. Unwelcoming environment. have your employees have respect and not purposely hurt your customers foot for his laughter. Completely unacceptable and disgusting 0/10!!! read more

I came here with a friend for mani-pedis. My pedi wasn't bad, but my manicure, done by a different person than the pedi, was one of the worst I've ever had. I had gels on that needed to be removed. They used the electric sander pre-soak, then soak, then electric sander again. My nails were broken, split, and peeling by the time all the gel was off. The harsh treatment with the sander was completely unnecessary. The new gel was then applied and it was streaky and didn't look good. It stayed on for two weeks pretty good, but there were so many splits in my nails I was afraid I couldn't get another gel mani. Thank goodness my usual girl back in Newbury Park was able to fix everything. I would never go here for a manicure again. However, my friend really loved the manicure she got here. She did the dip powder, and it came out lovely. read more

Nail technician complained about the weather, complained about how over worked she is, complained about Mondays. I asked her not to cut my nails, just to file them shorter in the same oval shape that I had, and she cut them square and swore it was fine and she would shape them "later". She applied the gel polish before shaping and I asked her to re-shape the nails first and she insisted it was better to shape them after they were painted, and when she finally got to shaping them, she shaped them into squares and I laughed and said that's not what I asked for, but she just said "they look nice" and jumped to covering my hands with an insane amount of coconut oil, and then she charged me $45 for a gel manicure when their website says it's $40. Won't ever go back. Once I got to the car I saw that she had painting over my cuticles and the gel started to peel off within 48 hours. read more

The service was standard. My issue is with the pricing. I was charged 27% more for the leg wax than I was initially quoted and I wasn't told that until AFTER my wax and pedicure. I was told that I had a lot of hair. I've never experienced being up-charged like this. In fact, at Brazilian by Brazilian in Santa Barbara, she removed some hair on my upper leg when I was only paying for my lower legs. So beware of the "AND UP" - you'll pay. I won't return. read more

Mediocre customer service. Pedicure was fairly standard, nothing special but nothing to complain about either - the job itself was done and my toes are painted, although the cleanup of skin around the nails could've been better. She didn't ask for callus removal or anything, so my bad. To be fair, they were busy so I think they were trying to just get people in and out. The massage chairs were not very comfortable, and they use the bags in the foot bowls. Not my preference, but usually not a deciding factor. They advertise free glass of wine, but it's two (3?) buck chuck and there aren't any cups out, and everyone was working so I didn't want to be that desperate for wine. I was just thinking "I took an hour of vacation time at the end of the day, why not make it feel like vacation?" Oh well. They charge an additional 0.50 if you use a credit card, so I chose the Venmo option. Apparently they under charged me, even though I asked if that was indeed the right amount because it seemed a bit low. She assured me it was the right amount. Yet the next day I got a message on Venmo asking me to pay more because it wasn't the right amount. I mean, I want to pay the right price, but hunting me down on Venmo a day letter left me a little creeped out- I think I'm getting old. The whole thing left me feeling pretty "meh" about the whole experience. Probably won't be back. read more

First time in Santa Bárbara and I saw this nail salon pop up on Yelp so, I decided to give it a try. I didn't catch her name, but she was an elderly woman who was just the sweetest. She didn't speak much, which I didn't mind cause I get it haha. Anyways, it wasn't busy so she took her time and she did a beautiful job. Whenever I'm in Santa Bárbara and in NEED of a gel pedicure, I'll be coming back!! Also, there is WiFi, parking in the back, and tons of nail polish color!!! I couldn't really get the silver that I wanted, But the color that Yvonne chose was actually nice. I think I'll see her in a month Update: Feb-27, after almost one month, my dipping still looks good. My mother-in-law, sisters-in-law, and I were looking for a place to get our nails done while we were in town before a family wedding. We chose Yvonne's based on Yelp reviews, though we weren't quite as enthused as other reviewers seemed to be. I appreciated being able to schedule an appointment via Yelp; however, when I tried contacting them again to change a detail about the appointment, I never heard back from them. Based on their reaction when we were in the shop, it didn't seem like they had received or read the message. They were still accommodating. The woman who did my pedicure and manicure was so. painfully. slow. that I declined to have my nails painted because we didn't have enough have time for it to be done well. In that same amount of time, one of my sisters-in-law had both a pedicure and manicure and was seated at the dryer. My mother-in-law landed somewhere in the middle, having had both her pedicure and manicure but needing to leave with wet nails. We didn't short change ourselves on time when making the appointment -- everything was simply slow. I thought the prices were on the high end -- $50 for a mani and pedi -- especially given the bare bones nature of the salon and service. We weren't offered water or tea and the salon is sparse. There was also a giant swarm of flies when we were in there, which was off-putting. read more

I've lived in Santa Barbara for a decade and I've been to nearly all the nail salons in this town including Goleta. There's more than a handful that have made me pass up on going a second time, some salons decent enough to come back if it's convenient for me, but none that I've been loyal to or would wait days until I can get an appointment for a particular technician, like my hair stylist or waxing gal! I must say, I will absolutely return back here for the quality and service. I particularly appreciate that they are open on both Saturday and Sunday, and have weekday hours until 7:00! They have a robust selection of gel polish and dip powder colors. When I moved to Santa Barbara at the beginning of this year, I found Yvonne and ever since then I have been going to her for my powder dip manicures. Yvonne does an excellent job and uses the highest quality products. (I have done powder dip at other salons to compare and nothing else beats this place) As a result, my nails have grown stronger, my manicure always looks flawless and lasts a very long time. I also get regular pedicures here and they do a great job every time. Yvonne did my nails for my pre-wedding photoshoot and it looked amazing. So glad I found her. She is my go-to person and I highly recommend her. read more

I was…read moresuper nervous because I didn't have the chance to do a trial beforehand, but I had had spray tans at other salons. Maria did an incredible job! I got the express tan on Wednesday night and showered 3 hours later to control the color. It stayed beautifully until my Saturday wedding! I'm so happy I trusted sugar for my tan, and they were so kind and willing to do touch-ups of it wasn't absolutely perfect. My biggest fear was streaky hands for a wedding (a lot of ring/hand photos) but they did a tremendous job. Highly recommend for everyone but especially the brides!

Yvonne's is my new favorite! About 6 weeks ago I wanted to find somewhere good that could get me in quickly. I found Yvonne's on Yelp and I'm so glad I did! She and her staff are friendly, professional, and they give you LASTING, beautiful results. I'm a busy wife and mother, so it's super important that my nails can take the abuse. I just got my second set of French manicure gel nails and I can tell you they have lasted longer than the gel manicures I've gotten in SB at other places. Thanks Yvonne! read more

What a beautiful, welcoming salon! Stunning, state of the art spa chairs with glistening amber foot spa tubs. Yvonne has thought of everything. I am so impressed with the quality. Happy feet all week long! Can't describe my Nuskin Spa Pedicure experience at Yvonne's any other way. You need to come and try it for yourself. I accidentally discovered Yvonne a few years ago, and was so pleased with her skill and manner that I have followed her wherever she has gone. I'm pleased to see that she has opened a lovely new salon in Santa Barbara (near Madam Lu's). The salon is well-stocked with the highest end products. Getting a manicure & pedicure (plus a heavenly arm, hand foot and leg massage) is a real treat. Her prices are reasonable, too. read more

This is my second time going in for a mani/pedi. Highly impressed with their attention to detail (perfection) and quality of service. Gel manicure lasted 5 weeks without fail. I have recommended them to my girls at work and now here on yelp. Place is clean and comfortable with kind and professional staff. Parking has not been a problem. Definitely worth the visit, especially with the Axxess card. read more

I am so happy I found this place on Yelp. I had the most pampering Mother's Day ever. I'd Ed recommend the spa pedi cure with mani cure. The massages are so relaxing. This place is like massage mixed with art. The spa massage chairs had unique settings and seemed brand new. I will def be back Came back today July 17 and was just as pleAsed as before. The salon is beautifully decorated and modern. She was very attentive and detail-oriented. She made great suggestions about my nail shape and color. I walked away relaxed and very satisfied. Yvonne's is a GREAT little gem on Upper State Street. The salon is quiet, calm, and very accommodating. I got a full set a few weeks ago here and went back for a fill today. Changed my color dramatically and Yvonne didn't even flinch. She wanted whatever I wanted. It was great. I will be going back in a few weeks for another fill and probably a pedi too! read more

Yvonne's is an awesome place to get your nails done. Today I chose to get a pedicure. Yvonne did a fabulous job. She is very detailed in her work. My callouses are no longer there! She also massaged my calves and feet. The massage chairs are like no others, very comfortable and relaxing. I was even served tea! You gotta go there. Worth every penny! read more

Yvonne is my hero! I was pressed for time and only stopped in town for a day on my way to a big family event. Yvonne was friendly,fast,clean, and so professional. She is absolutely wonderful! Yvonne and her staff are wonderful! I never have trouble getting an appointment when I ask for something the next day and she does a wonderful job on my nails whether it's a regular polish, gel polish, or dip powder. Frenchies uses standard foot baths without jets as they say these baths are easier to keep sanitized, which makes sense to me. The services were luxurious with a reasonable price tag. The attendants were incredibly kind, attentive and communicated appropriately, as needed. We will only go to Frenchies from now on. 5 stars! Many thanks to all the lovely ladies working this evening.
