Best nail salon in town. I've gone to pretty much every one on State street and in the neighborhoods. Here, they don't take shortcuts to get you out of there fast and no other shady business. From beginning to end you're getting a job well done. Definitely the place to go if you like to get your nails done in peace and want them done well. read more

Best Nails - Gel mani by Mina using magnetic polish - Nail Salons Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

I have been coming to Best Nails for 15 years and they do a lovely job! Quality work and quick! Would highly recommend!

I unfortunately went here without reading some of the reviews. I went in to get my dip nails removed. I have a place I would normally go to for this but was running errands in the area and really needed them removed. The experience itself was pretty bad overall. The salon is very dirty and uninviting but I really didn't care since I was only getting my nails removed. As the process went on I was concerned the tech didn't know what she was doing but figured I could fix it later. She asked if I wanted my cuticles done and I said no because I had somewhere to be. She said "it won't take that long I'll just clean them up a little bit". When I went to leave she charged me $46. The dip wasn't even completely removed from my nails. I said how could this be $46 I only got dip removed? She said I got a manicure since she cleaned my cuticle, something I had said no to. I was completely swindled. I have never felt so taken advantage of and even told her I didn't want this to begin with and it's $10 at other salons to remove nails. This is by far the worst "manicure" I've ever received in my life. She put cuticle oil and lotion on my hand without washing the dust off my hand after the nail removal?? Please do yourself a favor and never come here for any service. read more

PLEASE BE WARNED!! I went there to get my acrylic nails taken off and the woman who did my nails CUT ME MULTIPLE TIMES WITH A NAIL DRILL. I will first say I almost never post reviews and I've never posted a one star review but I was physically injured at this nail salon. I was in pain and bleeding after the service. Every time she cut my skin with the nail drill she would giggle and smile at me when I jumped from pain. I genuinely don't understand the cruelty she choose to use. I don't know why she chose to hurt me but just steer clear of this place. She also used the nail drill so badly there are drill marks in my natural nails underneath the acrylics. She tried pulling at the edges of the half taken off acrylics which in turn pulled on my natural nails and hurt like hell. I told her it hurt and she said to relax and stay still. I literally could not stay still because she was cutting me. There is NO sanitation and she did not sanitize the drill that was used. When I got home I had to sanitize my cuts all around my nails. I left before she could finish almost in tears. I'm completely baffled at how someone like this can run a nail salon. It's been a couple days and I'm still dealing with cuts all over my nails. Please do not go there. Pictures attached to show the damage to my nails and skin. read more

Best Nails has been my pedicure savior since March 2020. With a small and unfortunate pause due to the pandemic in between ( in which, I tried to replicate the pedicure at home with dismal results) I have had a standing appointment with Linda, the salon owner every 2 weeks. The salon is good, the prices are fair and the staff is warm and cares about their clients. The salon is very simple, without the frills or flairs of a glitzy LA-style nail place, but is clean and organized. The Pedicure chairs have massage functions built into them and the room is full of ambient natural lighting and good Chi brought in by the air that flows in the front door and out the back. Staff wear masks and gloves and plastic screens are in place to help protect customers from COVID transmission. My hope is that these modifications also help to protect Linda's nail techs from the nail polish fumes as well. Linda communicates quickly and neatly via text or phone call and has yet to fail to answer the last-minute call of the occasional 'nail emergency', and there have been a few occasions! I am often tired from a long commute to work and Linda's massage really helps to take me into a place of total relaxation and deep peace. I feel so safe and relaxed during my treatment that I have fallen asleep during the service. Linda was careful to allow me to sleep as she has seen me at various stages of energy and knew how much I needed the rest. I really appreciate this and the best part was that I arose from my slumber with fabulous nails! I believe nail salons to be a deeply personal space and rarely do I look to reviews from strangers in my own search for a salon in a new area, relying mainly on word of mouth. I decided to write this review after hearing the owner speak to the negative effects the Pandemic has had on her small business. I see some reviews commenting on the staff speaking in their native language. I would like to say that I stand in solidarity with our Asian communities and take great pride in the very rare and small percentage of diversity that exists within our tiny predominately white town of Santa Barbara! Keep on speaking whatever language you like! I love it!! Diversity is beautiful. read more

Best Nails - Full Service! - Nail Salons Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

I chose this place because of their high review average, and was not disappointed. The location is nothing fancy, but seems to be very clean and they do a good job. It's been almost three weeks and my gel manicure looks as good as day one. The place was packed, too, so they clearly have a good amount of loyal return clients, which is a great sign. read more

I would not go here again, staff was fine and nice but nails were horrible. 88 dollars for a set that started falling apart after 2 weeks.

best nails? no. worst nails. I asked for almond acrylics and she said, "I'll try" and butchered my nails. Don't provide a service you cannot do. read more

Small little business on state street. I walked in on a Monday morning for a pedi and gel mani and they had availability. The inside is worn and no frills, but the nail tech was amazing and put on 3 coats of gel without me asking. Price was reasonable, 75.00 for both services. read more

I'm not from the area and here just for 4th of July. This place gets the 2 stars just for being open on Forth of July. However the service was horrible and I had to do my own nail design. They painted the base coat for me, then asked me to move out of the massage chair for someone else since I just said I would do my own design. They attempted a very easy stripe and mangled it. I'm thankful they were open but that's about it. If somewhere else is open for you, I would suggest you go there. read more

Best Nails - Acrylic, with gel polish! - Nail Salons Near Me - Santa Barbara, California

This is one of the best nail salons in SB. I have been coming here for a while now and the price is right and they do a fabulous job.

It would be nice if someone said "Welcome" and "How are you?" when you walk through the door instead of blank stares and silence while you awkwardly stand there? In hindsight I now realize they were actually trying to run me out because the last time that I was there-- two weeks ago--I was apparently too difficult a customer expressing concern about the possibility of my nail bed being damaged if they used the electric grinder to remove the "dip" layer I had gotten somewhere else. I have been going there regularly for 3 months and the ONE time I am just voicing some concern ... I am apparently shunned and get the "you are not welcome here vibe"? What the heck is this? Eventually someone painstakingly said pointing "sit down over there" and after a totally silent manicure, I get the "see you"... send off. You actually won't see me, not in this place. I've never experienced such poor customer service bordering on bullying. read more

I absolutely love my time at Best Nails. The women who work here are so kind & create a space for relaxation that is so appreciated. Additionally, they do an incredible job with their nail art. I have been going for years & I have never left anything but 100% happy with my nails. They have a huge color selection. The massage chairs are the best I've ever sat in! I loooooove coming here! read more

Linda does a great job at a reasonable price. They use good polishes that don't chip and while the massage isn't what you would get at a spa, it is nice and they don't skimp on it. I would highly reccomend this place to someone who wanted to get their nails and have it last, but get it done inexpensively. Walking in is never a problem. Manicure: $13, Pedicure: $25, Mani/Pedi: $35 Note: You have to park on the street, but it's never been a problem for me. read more

I am visiting Santa Barbara when I decidedto search for a quick pampering session. I read a few other reviews and none to good before finding Best Nails. It's about two miles off east on State street and I am so happy I came. Mani/Pedi Combo is $37 plus I got an additional massage for $15 and she just rubbed and rubbed and rubbed. Love this godly woman. I will so return to Best nails. And pay that extra Ca-Ching for the fab rub down. read more

Linda does an amazing job! I've been coming to her for about a year now and I love how detailed she is with her work. Her gel manicures and pedicures are the best and wouldn't want to go anywhere else. Definitely recommend! read more

This is a great salon for getting the full on mani/pedi in a delightful massage chair. They are exceptionally friendly and go out of their way to accommodate. I have work late and they stayed an hour later to do my mani/pedi that I was in dire need of having done. Nothing fancy but I would definitely recommend as a great local spot! read more

I went there to repair one split nail, the staff was very rude!! I would not recommend them to anyone!

I was in Santa Barbara for a wedding and decided at the last minute to get a pedicure. Linda and her ladies were sweet and accommodating and got me started right away as a walk-in. The prices are really reasonable (same as cheapy LA nail salon prices) and my pedicure lasted forever. It never chipped, just grew out! If I'm ever in SB again and need a mani/pedi fix - I'll be back :) read more

Awful! I'm not even picky about my mani-pedi. I just like to spend a little while being pampered and have my nails look nice. The pedi was ok, although she put my shoes on me and sent me out the door before they could even dry. My toenails also chipped and peeled within two days. I am a teacher, so my toenails don't really take any sort of beating. The worst part, though, was the manicure! The woman was clearly in a rush to get back to... whatever she was doing. She asked if I wanted my nails cut, and I showed her a nail that was the length I wanted and a perfect pretty oval shape. I actually gave her an example!!! She proceeded to cut all of the nails (except the two that were already the length I wanted) incredibly short and SQUARE. They were so short that it was pointless for me to say anything about making them oval. She left the other nails the same length and shape, so now I have two nails that don't match. She then filed them, threw some lotion on them, wiped my hands off with a hard dry towel and threw one coat of paint on. I will have to get another manicure as soon as my nails grow out to fix the damage that she did. When she was done she got up and went outside. Later she came back while I was still getting my pedicure and started CLEANING the foot bath underneath me while I was still sitting there! It was the most horrible, unpleasant nail experience I have ever had AND it still cost me 40 dollars. read more

SATISFIED AND HAPPY Very nice manicure/pedicure, sweet ladies took good care of me. Unpretentious, down-to-earth and very pleasant. They let me bring my quiet little dog! I'm new to the area and have tried several salons, some high-end, some not-so-high end. This one was just right. Nothing fancy but good service. Another place in Montecito is excellent too, but the workers there are so rushed it made me feel nervous and not cared for very well. These ladies took their time giving me a mani and a pedi at the same time, which was a great idea--a first for me. So I was finished earlier but at a nice gentle pace. Toes and fingers look great! I left feeling satisfied and happy. read more

Made an appointment ahead of time. Bedside manor was minimal, especially when we walked in. The good: variety of color choices, variety of services. The massage chairs were wonderful! They do give you a quick foot massage with lotion (for pedicure). Best of all, price was very reasonable!!! The bad: only saw white clientele (I am white myself) and I have read some former reviews that they prefer white clientele. Also, the women working are a little brute and unfriendly but they get the job done. Overall: good experience for the price! read more

hey get the clientele why should this fabulous place put up with anyone who are out of the norm for business. mIf someone pulls back they will stop they can get bi. trouble or could you sue them . I have never had a bad experience. My husband went a couple of times and he had a weird experience . Personally my husband will not be doing his nail pedi again. The person was kind of rude the way she said ,Ax my husband still found dirt in his nails wanted to clean it out they handed him tool which he was fine but when they wanted tool ,"Give me my tool". read more

Went to Best Nails on the recommendation of a friend. Just wanted a basic pedicure. I don't do anything fancy like artificial nails, so I can't comment on that. However, the pedicure was good. They have spa chairs with massaging backs and the attached spa basin with jets for your feet. I was there for about an hour and the pedicure was $25. They didn't try to sell me any unwanted extra services like some other nail places I have been to so I really appreciated that. Oh, and I just walked-in and was more than welcome. There were 3 people already getting services, but I didn't have to wait at all. The only reason I didn't give them 5 stars was because the foot massage wasn't stellar but it was good enough so I will definitely go back. read more

Needed a quick manicure during my visit to Santa Barbara. As my friend Krista was getting her nails done, thought I'd tag along. The lady who gave me my manicure was quick and efficient. She also didn't make me yelp like a baby by cutting my cuticles too close to the nail. Quite reasonable rates, too. Pretty basic setup, but they get the job done! read more
