If everyone he yelled at was like me then they went back out looking for the carts. Who knew you had to pay bail for a cart. Hire a cart guy and build cart corrals. What if I was an elderly disabled veteran with no change or cash? I'd guess I would have to balance everything in one arm. Okay let's shoot to the checkout. The self check out lady came and planted herself right next to me while I was checking out.no smile, no are you okay, just a stern look. I like ShopRite but not this one. It's straight out of the mid 80's.

Lamp Post Diner is unfair to blacks! We were racially profiled from the minute we got in the door, because we were a large party of young African-Americans! Myself and a group of friends and our children (party of 8) were very displeased with the customer service of one of the servers and the manager. While dining, our server, was very rude and inattentive. It was hard to get her attention, as she rushed away from our table, and she had an attitude about honoring most of our requests, even down to asking for extra napkins. Despite that, most of the adults in our party were former servers, and still like to go above and beyond the 15-20% gratuity, especially since we were a large party. When we approached the counter to pay, a gentle man told us we should have requested separate checks since we were mostly all paying with credit cards. Our server informed us in the beginning of our dining experience, that it was a difficult task, splitting into separate checks, so to make her job easier, we kept the bill on one check. We all left a tip on our credit cards, at 20% of our separate bills, and I personally handed the server a $5 bill, to honor my own separate bill. Upon leaving, I overheard the server speaking to a co-worker that our party only left a $5 tip on a $70 bill. I personally informed the server that the other guests left her a tip on their credit receipts, and she denied saying it and never apologized to our party for the accusation. When we got home, we called the diner to speak to a manager, and explained what had transpired. We told her how displeased and offended we were of the accusation, and the manager said there was nothing she could do. She said the server was right next to her during the call and was very apologetic about the claim. The manager actually said "I mean, what more do you want?" She said we could come back to the diner for a formal apology. How convenient! I am very furious at the way we were treated as paying customers, and the way the manager handled the situation. My family visits the diner every week faithfully, and I personally feel it is absurd to lose regular paying customers, over a comment that should have never been said, especially while we were still in the diner, and for the simple fact that she falsely accused us of stiffing her. Stay away from the Lamp Post Diner! They will take your money and spit in your face all at the same time! read more

This establishment is a hostile work place. I worked at this diner for a month and a half and suffered work place harassment several times. And there is an expeditor that makes servers cry on a nightly basis, she attacks all of the servers verbally calling them stupid, idiots, "dumb bitches", among several other offensive terms. When I first started here I was warned of this but did not believe it and then I saw it, every night a different server was crying from the verbal attack of this expeditor. The management has more servers on every night than necessary and only gives tables to a certain select few, leaving the rest of the servers to make no money. My last shift at this establishment, I was verbally attacked and also physically threatened by a hostess in the dining room in front of managers. This Hostess said she was going to slap me in the face, this was completely unprovoked, she was walking by as I was talking to another server about how I had no tables and she came up screaming in my face calling me names and then saying that she was going to slap me in the face. Management saw this and there were no repercussions. I will be contacting the Department of Labor as well as pressing charges. This establishment does not meet food safety regulations either. My best recommendation would be not to go eat at this establish. In the month and a half I have been there, their employees are a revolving door. Which just shows how these people treat their employees. read more

Give it time and this place will show it's true colors. We use to get good food and good service here, but that has all changed. Go in the middle of the week at night. There is no A.C. Fly's will attack you during your entire meal. Don't order the fried egg plant unless you like it raw and uncooked. (Use to be my favorite until I got it uncooked.) Our waitress dropped off our dinner and proceeded to tell us that the bus boys steal and that if we leave a tip to give it to her directly. (That sure gave us dinner conversation.) Then for it being a slow night, the waitress disappeared. The manager on duty disappeared. After 10 minutes of waiting for a drink refill I actually called the front on my cell phone requesting a refill. They told me ok and the waitress came over and handed us the check. Is this a joke? Desert came with my dinner and I haven't had it nor a refill and here is the check. The desert was a fancy mouse cake and I wasn't allowed to down size to pudding. When leaving and trying to speak to the manager on duty about the unbelievably bad service, I was told I should have tracked him down and that he saw nothing wrong with service. So sad that this was a nice place and it went down hill. For you on sake, don't get fooled like we did. Stay away from the Lamp Post Diner at all costs! read more

This is a terrible place I wouldn't waste your time when their are so many other better places to go to. The management is rude to their staff right in front of you servers are not trained well enough to serve as fast as they do and the scariest thing is hearing the way the owners abuse the staff. They talk to these women like they are dogs and it's totally so terrifying to hear and see. Especially the owner named Andrew. These ladies need to Know that no man should ever treat or speak to you in such a manner not your husband or father and definitely not some diner co owner . And they need some kind of ramifications for the abuse God knows how they must abuse their wives or daughters .Most of the reviews site about the terrible management and exactly what I've witnessed the way they are disciplined in front of the guests . How demeaning is that. I've never seen such abuse in another place to eat not even McDonalds. This place needs to be shut down based just on this abuse alone what's it matter how the food tastes when the poor girl who is serving it is getting tore down everyday at her job by a nobody and takes it because she has kids to feed and these monsters know it . read more

My husband and i went last night for our anniversary. We had each had one favourable experience there. The waiter gave us our check. My husband went to pay it and he had given us the wrong check. The party he gave our check had paid it and left. Their bill was at least $15 more than our. First we couldn't find the waiter for 10 min. Then he said "oh they are about the same". Um no. Arguing almost. Then the cashier told us she couldn't print out our check again. Told us pay full amount and waiter would give us the difference. Um no. She had a crappy attitude as well as the waiter. Waiter kept saying "well didn't you gave the so and so?" and trying to talk my husband into believing he ate something he didn't. Haha. My husband said no, we would pay our portion and waiter could cover the rest since it was his mistake. It was an ordeal. I don't see myself going back. read more

When you come in your greeted by a miserable rude "manager" who doesn't even say "hello how are you how can I help you" ... Nope just says how many ? & then yells at one of the other hostess to sit youShe's the worst of them all. Not only does she disrespect the customers she disrespects her staff. There is someone named Shawn he used to be my high school bully. I heard he might get a job here from one of my friends. Before you make any final decision please keep In Mind he is mean, rude,unwell mannered, short tempered,unpredictable and does not bring anything to the table if anything he weighs it down. I would hate if my favorite establishment hired a lunatic to work there because all he brings are problems no perks. I would be glad to take down this one star review as long as he isn't working here if he is I will be devastated and have trauma from previous experiences and no longer dine here. I've been driving past this diner for the last four years since moving to the area. I always thought it had curb appeal, but I don't frequent diners much. Today, I finally gave it a try. The employees seemed to be nice people. Mask wearing was not enforced. You should be wearing one when moving about the restaurant, and removing it once you're seated. My server was nice but a bit off. I waited a while before receiving cold coffee. Had to request silverware. My water wasn't brought out until I asked again. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time, but wasn't hot or flavorful. I may give them another try some day, but I wasn't impressed today. read more
