Bases, lampshades, chandeliers and other décor items. So many design and style options! One thing I noticed is that this sure isn't the Walmart or IKEA lamp aisle. As lamp repair shop, this place is a scam. We had a inexpensive table lamp that needed re-wiring. How much, I asked? they said about $35. Ok I'll put that into it, I said. When I returned, they said price was $68...".because it was more complicated than we thought. " But the quote was for $35, I said. Sorry, they said, tough rocks. (Any honest repair shop would call the customer first and would also be fair to charge a Dx fee to cover their initial time. No problem there--that's reasonable.) So, these guys are dishonest and have a great scam going on on repairs. read more

I brought a lamp in for a wiring repair. I was pleasantly surprised how quickly they "fixed" it and that the cost was only $20. When I got home and plugged it in there was a pop and the switch was blown. I returned and explained what happened. They refused to take any responsibility...the manager implied that I had never been there even though the associate remembered me. I would have preferred they repair the light but they refused to accept it. They also refused a refund...said if I buy another switch they'll put it in for free. This account doesn't truly capture the unpleasantness of the exchange nor the unhelpful attitude of the manager. I will not waste my time returning. I'll find someone else. I recommend you do the same. read more

This place ROCKS. First, they've got really interesting lamps--you feel like you've stepped into a different world, a mix of 1920s to 1980s. But I went in simply to get a lamp repaired. They called me back and said, "uhm, there's nothing wrong with your lamp." I couldn't believe they didn't charge me ANYTHING ("we could've lied and said we fixed it and charged you but it's not our style," said the manager). Indeed. Took a lamp there a week ago that was given to me by my grandmother. It was OLD, but means the world to me since my grandmother has recently passed. Re-wiring, new base, lamp shade and $150 later.............I take the lamp outside and in the light, they never cleaned the outside of the lamp. Luckily when I got it home, it was easily cleaned up with a damp towel. But, for $150 I would have thought that a little cleaning would have been included. read more

I could not recommend this place more! I handed over two antique figures with paint about 70% chipped away and a photo of what I wanted them to look after restoration. Very disappointed. I brought in a chandelier I inherited to be cleaned and to have the wires tightened up. It turns out it also needed updated wiring to bring it up to code. I spend over $500 on the chandelier and another $ 150 for delivery and it was delivered dirty. It was never cleaned as requested. Furthermore, this project took over a year to complete. Finally, I was so exhausted with the whole experience they told me I didn't need to come in to pay and to select a ceiling cover. When they installed cap, it didn't match the color of the chandelier. At least I could return the cheap chain they wanted to install. My beautiful sturdy brass colored chain was still there. I don't know what happened to my cover. I see a similar complaint below about not cleaning, but they got out with a mere $ 150. A professional shop would clean it without being asked. read more

As an update to my previous review, I took one of the chandelier shades I was trying to match to The Lamp Shoppe on Miami Circle (from whom I've always had amazing service and several custom shades). While they didn't have the same shades, they immediately knew the manufacturer, which was coincidentally in Marietta. I called the manufacturer and they were incredibly helpful, contrary to what the owner of Lamp Arts had suggested (I think we know where the problem lies) and explained that they don't have a retail outlet for the public but referred me to Sandy Springs Lamp and Shade, just outside the perimeter on Roswell Road. I took one of the shades by there, and the ladies couldn't have been nicer and instantly offered to order the five shades I needed to match and would have them in two days, ALL FOR 15% LESS THAN LAMP ARTS. The whole experience just underscored what I already knew about Lamp Arts - the bitchy attitude starts from the top down, and you're paying a sizable mark-up for their location. If you want superior service and better pricing, try The Lamp Shoppe for high-end and custom or Sandy Springs Lamp and Shade for superior selection and personal service. Either way you'll have a great buying experience without the surly attitude. read more

I recently took my lamp to Lamp Arts. It had the broken sockets attached. They called and told me that they could not fix it because it had older European sockets that were not made anymore. When I went to pick up the lamp, the broken sockets were no longer attached. While the sockets were broken, they might have been helpful in finding replacements. I would have been fine if they had owned up to it and helped me find out what was there so that I could search for a replacement. But instead, they were condescending and rude and denied that they had taken the old sockets off. They totally lied about throwing the broken part away, the manager kept pointing to the ticket that said, "Needs new sockets" as if that was proof that they were missing instead of hanging there broken. Needless to say I will not be going there again. read more
