These guys are good. I run a consulting firm and have used Lamorinda Technologies, including its earlier incarnation Nerd4Rent, for years. I consider them my personal IT department. They help me keep my cool when I'm having a computer issue. They're responsive, always there when I need them. They're knowledgeable, skilled, and trustworthy. Furthermore, they never shame me for not being a computer geek. Use them if you want some peace of mind in this sometimes daunting Information Age. read more

Just wanted to note the excellent service and response from this great company! Edward was very helpful on the phone and Ryan's visit to my home to wade though the Xfinity maze and get my new gateway and wireless access point configured was flawless. Saved me countless hours and frustration. Would definitely use Lamorinda Technology again! read more

I had a problem with Microsoft word on a new laptop. Lots of error messages and eventually it would freeze and I had to restart several times a day. With another tech we had done a long list of updates and system checks, with no improvement. Lucky for me, my friend Jack had heard good things about Lamorinda Technology. Ed answered my call. I send him notes on what had been tried so far. He said make 2 backups and make an online appointment. He offered me options, and we decided to reinstall windows. After that he helped get all my drivers and apps up and running, way faster than I would have done it. Working with Ed was great. He is clear, fast, friendly and efficient. Thank you! read more

Couldn't really ask for more! P.S. To the 2 star review: if you were unhappy with the result, N4R has a money back policy, you could have just expressed yourself to them verbally and saved the $49...I know it's hard to use your words sometimes. read more

Like many others in today's business world, I rely on my computer. am lost when it goes down. I cannot give enough stars to Ryan who regularly saves the day with help either in person or remotely. Fantastic people. I sent in a request for a quote and described my issue and Edward suggested trying something on my own before I got professional assistance. The suggestion worked and I would definitely use their service in the future if I run into a problem. The selfless kindness shown is a quality I respect!! Thank you Nerd4rent!! read more

Very pleased with the service and the price. Edward visited my home office yesterday to rectify (what I hoped) was a minor configuration issue. It wasn't, but he was able to find a practical and inexpensive (read: free) workaround. This is the first time I've used Nerd4Rent, and, as said above, I'm very pleased. I'd use them again, and I'd recommend them to anyone who asked. read more

Now doing business as Lamorinda Technologies, I give this company the highest recommendation for Intelligent and personable computer expert who will travel! We've had wonderful results, year after year, with the wise and helpful Edward Zeidan of Lamorinda Technologies. A smart troubleshooter for any computer/systems issues large or small Mac or PC. He makes house calls, and responds promptly to e-mail inquiries. This is small business service at its best. He can be reached at: ezeidan@lamorindatechnology.com (925) 283-5666 read more

Edward came out to my house today and helped me strategize my home networking. In addition to helping me solve my current problem (getting better wifi in hard-to-reach parts of my house and phone issues), he challenged me to anticipate my future needs (more connected devices, long-term changes in room uses, etc.). I will rent this nerd many, many times in the future (and you should too!). read more

This group pays attention and takes good care of its clients. Edward helped resolve a problem with my WiFi internet connection today, made successful recommendations and followed through with a double-check. I'll call this business again. read more

They just wasted my time, and cost me at least a day without a computer. I have an iMac and got the black screen of death. I called to ask if they worked on Macs, and they said "Yes." Fine, I arranged to get my computer there before I had to be somewhere so that I could get the process of fixing it/saving the data/slitting my wrists started. I arrive, plug it in, get the black screen and the guy in back, who can't be bothered to get up from his desk, tells the very nice receptionist "Tell him to take it to the Apple Store." I'm standing 15 feet away -- maybe he could say to me, "Take it to the Apple Store," but apparently it was important for me to realize that I wasn't worth his valuable time. If you say you can work on Macs, that generally means you can work on Macs -- and if you can only solve really simple problems, you should say so. You shouldn't mislead customers as to your capabilities, and you should, if you have done so, at least have the courage to get up from your desk, say "I'm sorry" and acknowledge you've wasted someone's valuable time and perhaps cost them a day without their computer. Horrible business practices and customer relations from top to bottom. read more

Did not get rid of the virus's on our computer, and basically told us we needed a new computer. We took the Sam computer to the Geek Squad, since nerd for rent did not fix the computer and charged us $175. The Geek Squad, fixed the computer and it is working beautiful. We would not recommend Nerd for Rent read more

The true value of service is seen when things don't go as planned. My daughter's Windows 7 machine was infected with a virus that standard virus protection could not detect or remedy. The first attempt to solve the problem was unsuccessful but Ed, the owner, took over responsibility for a resolution that was much more involved that the original estimate. I'd already paid for the second visit but Ed offered to refund that fee due to the inconvenience of not resolving the issue on the first attempt. He also picked up and delivered the machine at my convenience. read more

My computer is my business. When my computer was virally corrupted, Nerds4rent was there, immediately. Not only did they remove the virus, they did a performance update of my computer and my software. I now boot up quickly, my apps work quickly, I am back in business and I can yelp and yelp about them. read more

My wife and I have used Nerd4Rent for about a million years now. I can't tell you how thoughtful and efficient both Ed and Mark are. On their first visit to our home Mark worked on 2 computers and a laptop and had them humming in no time at all. Now they keep all 3 of our work computers going as well as 3 computers at home. Ed has reciently helped us to purchase 2 new computers at the office and saved us money. Thanks NERD4RENT read more

I have used Nerd4Rent for several years and each time, they have saved me time and money. They are quick, honest and personable while maintaining their professionalism. They have repaired my computers, eliminated viruses, and advised me on new purchases. Best of all, they include me in the process and treat me as an intelligent and computer-savvy person. I have been a computer user, both personally and professionally for more than 20 years but they still have the ability to make me feel inept and helpless at times. Nerd4Rent restores my computer and also my confidence in my abilities. I'm very happy to have them as part of my service team. read more

I love this company! I work for a small business (a church) and we don't have the resources for an IT person. I've relied on the amazing staff of Nerd4Rent for the last 6 years. I trust them implicitly and they have never let us down. I really can't give them a high enough rating. Their knowledge and customer service are outstanding. Plus: when you're experiencing computer problems, it can be stressful. Mark and Ed are a complete pleasure to work with, and Renee, who runs the office, is nothing but lovely and helpful. I feel very fortunate to have found them. read more

I consider myself technology challenged and my computer crashed last week. I did some researching of local help and Nerd4Rent had the best reviews. I called and left a message. I received a call back from Edward within an hour or so. I explained what had happened and he walked me through my options. I never felt stupid or pressured to purchase service. This time I went the route of replacing my tower and so I won't need any help. However, I will keep this service in my contacts for any future technology issues. Thank you for your excellent customer service. read more

I highly recommend Nerd4rent. We thought my mom's computer had a virus. Ryan from Nerd4rent came out, was prompt, courteous and knowledgeable. He fixed the problem and answered all our questions. He also showed my mom how to spot scams so she won't click on anything suspicious. Great company, fair prices, friendly staff. read more

Edward was extremely responsive and set up a quick appointment. We have two Macs that needed a fine tuning. He helped clean up a few issues and did it all in an hour. He's knowledgeable and friendly and made a point to get it done in an hour so I avoided more charges. Highly recommended! read more

I took my laptop to Nerd4Rent because it was booting up slowly and I couldn't make some configuration changes I wanted. They charged me $282 to do a "tuneup" and a virus scan and to remove 6 trojans that they found. When I got home the laptop no longer recognized my home wireless network so I couldn't connect to the internet. They refused to refund any of my money and wanted another $169 just to come to my house, at which point I cut my losses & got another service to come out & do the fix for $120. I agree with s.r. -- these people are out to make $$ off people's ignorance. A definite DO NOT USE. read more

Love this service! My husband called on these folks for help at our office - talk about getting the job done, fast and efficient. They followed up with a thank you note -- which I loved that personal touch -- customer service is everything to me, especially in this time of folks who don't practice those basic courtesies.... When we had them out again to our office, he handled the situation, which for him was a breeze. Will call on Nerd4Rent again and again. Highly recommend!!! read more

Great service, I am so impressed. The tech, Ryan, was the fastest thing EVER. Super knowledgeable and professional. It may seem pricey but it's not, as they are so fast. I had been getting mixed results from an online service, am very happy I found Nerd4rent. I was tickled to get a card (in the mail!) after the service! read more

This office is really a great find for people who need computer help. From the first call to their office, they are professional, prompt, friendly, and not afraid to make an initial assessment of the problem. Once I took my computer in, they diagnosed the problem quickly and offered what was the best solution (new computer) rather than fixing my existing computer even though it would be much less money for them. Best of all, they operate like a mom and pop shop. I forgot my credit card when I was picking up my computer and Ed (the owner) said not to worry and to pay when convenient. So if I ever get that scary blue screen on my computer and statements like 'physical dump of memory' I will certainly call these guys. read more

I had an excellent experience with Nerd4Rent and I'm fussy. I own a iMAC G5 with OSX operating system. When I spoke to the receptionist this morning I explained my issue and I was able to get an appt. the same day with a 2 hour window. The owner, Edward came out with Mark. Both men were friendly, thorough, explained their paperwork and the process they used to hook up the wireless network. They are also dog friendly. The charges were thoroughly explained to me before the work was started. One got on one computer, one on the other and they finished before the hour was up. I am extremely pleased with service and would hire them again in a heartbeat. read more
