Brought my son's dog in after she was hit by the ambulance. They seemed to be on the ball about paying. Turns out the ambulance won't pay a cent. So filled out at lvvs to go through one of their options. 1st. On the scheduled day payment was never pulled from my bank. Checked numerous times through my bank and it was never seen 2nd. When talking to the "office manager" the price mysteriously went down and I was told that the payment was sent back as insufficient funds.I should also state this was after the "wonderful letter" my wife signed for when I was in the hospital after suffering from a heart attack followed by a minor stroke during which I lost my phone and wallet somewhere. So trying to get a working phone and my cards back they keep trying for their payment. Office manager is NOT helpful. My new cards are in the mail and I get told to just find away to get them their money. read more

I have lived in several different states and have been to many different vets, and LVVS is by far my favorite. They are accommodating with emergencies, the staff is kind & caring, and the facilities are wonderful. I have a 3 y/o cat and an 11 y/o dog. My dog, Bambino, recently required oral surgery. Dr. Krebs was absolutely fantastic. He answered all my questions and went above and beyond to soothe both my anxiety and Bean's. The vet techs are equally as wonderful and the office staff is so pleasant. I really like that the cat vet is separate; most places I've been to they are not separate and it adds more stress on kitties. You can tell they care about animals and put thought into every level of comfort. I very much appreciate LVVS as do Bambino and Shiro! read more

I have been a pet owner for over 60 years and have been in numerous Veterinary hospitals and clinics. My visit with LVVS is the worst experience I have ever had. Inept and unprofessional on every level. Their goal is to jack up the bill as much as possible while providing no meaningful help or even an accurate diagnosis. I'd say stay away from these people. Oh they help you out in a hard time, they take care of your pets. It's not the Vet or the nurses that our the problem. It there billing that is the problem. SEE twice now I had a money issues with them. The first time they 'miss' billed me when I was bring in my pups for shots. They had billed them as a litter but they where to old so they wanted to change it to bill me for each pup one there own which would of cause me about 100$ or so dollars more. I pointed out this was not a good way to do things cause you fooled me into thinking I had paid the bill off but now want more money. They decided to wave the bill. I though ok good no problems. I should of known better!!!!!! I had a bill for about 5000$ with them which I went out of my way to pay off as much as I could as fast as I could. 2 weeks ago I paid the bill off. OR so I thought I did. I get a call from them today claiming I still own them another 500$ saying I paid of the Insurance company but not them. So here I am again the fool for thinking I paid these people off, but no they say 'Surprises' GIVE US MORE MONEY!!!!!!!!!!!!' It's endless with them. Don't use them they our Sharks looking to keep you in debit forever. Pay them off? Never they will find Surprises to bill you for. Oh they willing to 'work' with me so I can keep paying them for month on end and never stop. DO NOT USE THESE PEOPLE you'll never be able to stop paying them off EVER! MONEY SHARKS Destroying your credit, taking your rent/food/ and bills money to line there pockets while you and your pets starve. Do yourself a favor find someone else to do business with cause when you pay them off they'll go away. Unlike this place who will come right back around looking for more ways to bleed you dry. This Office and especially the owner are only about the money. If you are rich you will be welcome. If not you will be shunned. I do not recommend this Veterinary office to anyone who cares about their animals and is not independently wealthy. They will suck you dry. My dog was spayed here at age 2. LVVS was excellent in communicating with me the night before the procedure. My dog was anxious because of minimal experience with strangers (this was not our regular vet at the time). The vet spent individual time with her and called me to let me know how she was doing. The procedure went well. More recently my regular vet retired and we moved to this practice. The care has been good. Yes, more tests and therefore more costly for visits, but kidney disease was discovered very early on and my dog has responded well to a special diet and supplements. The staff have always been kind and capable. I recommend LVVS. read more

Last Monday I utilized LVVS for the 1st time. Our cat was having issues - not eating, drinking very little, and was moving much slower than normal. He was 13 years old, so I didn't know what to expect as far as a diagnosis. LVVS was open on Labor Day and would accommodate him. After blood work came back (within 40 minutes of being drawn), I determined our fur baby would have to be put down. He suffered kidney disease (incurable), and was having complications with his liver and/or gallbladder - a specialist would have been needed to specifically identify this particular issue. While this was a tough day for me, I certainly am thankful for the staff at this office From the person taking the appointment, to the two vet techs who assisted with Hobbes (Laurie and Carole I believe), to the skilled vet, Dr Curley, I felt supported throughout the process and observed respect and kindness given to their patient from moment one. A few special moments which I will always remember: Dr Curley did not have any other openings during her day, so took time from her dinner break to euthanize Hobbes. Even though my appointment was at 2:30, they allowed me to occupy the exam room until we ended his life approximately 3 hours later ... I could spend his last hours with him in a quiet space. I was also allowed as much time as I needed after we put him down. The constant petting and affection show to him by all who worked with him. The heartfelt "I am so sorry" from the receptionist as I was leaving. "Compassionate care" are the words I would use to describe my experience and I will always be thankful. read more

I brought my six month old kitten in for our first appointment and she was very anxious. They got us in quick, were great with handling her in her difficult state, gave her treats and affection and great medical attention. Vet Krebs and the rest of the staff were very experienced and KIND. Their love for their job and the animals showed and it was very affordable. I would recommend them to anybody looking for a place to get treatment for their pet, I felt very comfortable with putting my fur baby in their hands. read more

Chloe & Anne Continued- This summer, while in Cape Code, my pup Chloe while playing catch in the ocean, cut her front paws on sea shells. I called LVVS and spoke to a doctor. They gave me great advice and supported me through a scary time. Once back in VT we had a follow up and followed the plan. I was worried Chloe could not play in the snow this winter, which she loves. However, Chloe healed perfectly and is romping and jumping in snow and ice to play her favorite game- Tennis ball catch! This year I took my dog to another vet and she was cured of her skin condition the first visit! Everything that LVVS did was incorrect and she suffered for a long time because of their treatment. Thanks to the new vet who saved her from suffering anymore. I find the LVVS doesn't seem to know what to do in serious cases, and they just "guess" at it. UPDATE: 12/15/2017. My cat was in an accident over 3 weeks ago and passed away at LVVS. Although the vet did her best, I was told that his injuries were too severe and if he survived the night he would need to be transported to Burl to a specialist. Because they could not help him there...He did not make it through the night. 3 1/2 weeks went by and I was waiting for his ashes. Today I called to ask about them. I was told that the ashes are at the vet office and being held because I had a balance ($400) I paid most of the very expensive $1,200.00 bill and I planned on paying the balance when we picked up his ashes. Instead, they chose NOT TO CALL US, to let us know that his ashes were even there. I was livid! Its bad enough loosing your pet, it's even worse when they are holding the ashes "hostage".. Karen on the phone was Cold and uncaring. she put in my credit card number wrong, and called me back to tell me that the c/c was declined...It was NOT declined, she put the numbers in wrong....I went to the office before they closed to pay my bill w. the same c/c, and picked up my cats ashes. The clerk was so cold, shrugging her shoulders at me in a "I DON'T CARE" fashion...Receiving the ashes brings closure and comfort to someone..... Very uncaring, disrespectful, heartless people at LVVS and I will never go there again. IT's all about the $$$..I will spread the word about how inconsiderate they really are.... read more

We are so grateful for all you did to help our EddieDog. To the doctors and their technicians and assistants, knowing that you are compassionate animal lovers who are dedicated to the health of your patients, we know you did all that was possible. We are very thankful that you tried to contact us on Friday night to tell us the sad news. And I realize it must have been so difficult to tell us, the next morning, on the phone. That you told us Eddie had been checked on very frequently, up until his demise, means that he had caring, kind humans near him, speaking to him, and that means the world to us. We are also so grateful for the kind actions of taking a paw print, and stamping his name on it. For the clippings of his fur, that we will give to our sons and keep for ourselves. His other belongings, collar and leash, neatly kept together. And we appreciate that in the reality of knowing what happens to a body after death, his limbs and body were gently arranged in a slightly curled, resting shape. And finally but so very important, when we picked up his body, the two young women who had that sad task, were so professional, and so very respectful, when delivering Eddie to our car. I can't express how much that meant to us. Their demeanor could not have been more respectful or solemn and I just about fell apart trying to thank them for their kindness. Following a c-section the owner of this clinic asked me why I didn't have my dog spayed. I stated that I was never told a complication had occurred. The veterinarian performing the c-section stated that she did not ask because she thought the dog "needed another point to finish her championship", assuming I would risk the dogs life for a title. The dog suffered metritis (a uterine infection) and was treated for five days with prostaglandin therapy. On the fifth day, I brought her in and because she did not seem to be progressing I asked for the opinion of the treating veterinarian. She stated she had no idea as she had no expertise in this area. I took her immediately to Burlington Emergency Vet Specialist, where they immediately performed an emergency spay and were able to save her life. I had literally spent thousands of dollars at this clinic and after numerous issues, I chose to have my dogs treated elsewhere. The front desk staff is particularly rude and condescending. read more

I am mixed on this..... There is good and bad.... The staff there exceptional... Monique Dunn is why I started coming there... she is amazing... Dr. Emily is down to earth, wonderful attitude and understand that people can NOT afford to run ridiculous tests... Dr. Valerie on the other hand... will NOT see any of my pets again... brought my sick kitty to there.... She insisted on running a huge amount of expensive tests that could have been later run if we saw fit....ran a couple of tests that I said NOT RIGHT NOW.... but did anyway.... Guess they are paying for those as I am not! The care there outside of this is pretty awesome.. I drive 45minutes one way to see them.... just not Dr. Valerie!! read more

Excellent experience. We got in the same day we called, didn't wait very long to be seen, and Dr. Jess was very thorough. I loved how she checked EVERYTHING and spent a good amount of time with our sweet boy. I appreciate a doctor who isn't quick to push unnecessary treatment on us. The staff was friendly, the waiting area was spacious and even had free can tops and measuring cups! The doctor had great suggestions for his care aside from the concern we visited for. I was so pleasantly surprised when the office called a few days later to check up on my sweet boy. Great value for the service! read more

Do expect quality and truthful service from them. Had my son's dog cared for there was told one price then when they told me 5 days later he need to go to another hospital price more than doubled. They also gave me a bag with his food we brought in and hide almost $500 in medication in bag, I did not look, left there went sttraight to other hospital. Was told they should have sent him when they looked at his original X-ray to them beyond them. They told me after surgery it was not done right first time. When I went through the bag of food found medication and called to return them they said not their policy to take back medication once you leave. Told person I would not return there with my 4 dogs unless they had one of the owners call me that was over a year and half ago, when I called to get a copy of one dogs record they were surprised I had not been in with my dogs, they don't care about anything but money.
