I have been working with the New Haven Dental group for almost 3 yrs now and the care I have…read morereceived as been top notch! The office is very clean and comfortable. I'm never too cold or too hot. The staff is friendly and welcoming! The atmosphere makes you forget you are at a dentist office! Scheduling appointments is super easy and the reminders are helpful. Dr Kern is the best dentist I have ever had! I have never felt any pain and she always explains things in terms that any patient could understand. She always asks how I am doing and remembers updates from 6 months prior. Elizabeth is the best hygienist! It's the little things like remembering the water setting that are most comfortable during my cleanings. 10/10 would recommend!

I really wouldn't recommend New Haven Dental Group. I've had multiple appointments where either the…read morewrong dentist was scheduled or I ended up waiting over an hour past my scheduled time. On top of that, they've failed to send reminders or notifications for appointments more than once, which led to missed appointments--and then they charged me cancellation fees. The front desk staff is often rude and unhelpful, which just makes a frustrating situation worse. Even routine cleanings have been incredibly painful--unlike anything I've experienced at any other dental office. I genuinely tried to give this place a fair chance, but the constant scheduling mistakes, lack of communication, unprofessional attitude, and overall disorganization make it really hard to justify staying. It's been a consistently bad experience from start to finish.

FYI: I plan to copy and paste this review on every available platform for this group. I cannot say…read moreenough good things about my experience with the individuals at Shoreline Dental Care, both in West Haven AND in Milford. The staff - from the front desk, to the billing office, and certainly to the Dentists could not be more amazing. Everyone at all levels is so professional and polite. It is very clear that the staff enjoy where they work and like what they do. Who looks forward and actually LIKES going to the dentist? Is it crazy to say that I actually do now just because of how awesome everyone is there?! I specifically HAVE to shout out my girl Aicha. I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of meeting and speaking with her as she was temporarily covering in the Milford location last week but was thrilled that I got to see her at her primary location in West Haven when I went in for an emergency extraction yesterday. It was such a tough and painful day yesterday and when I walked in and saw her, I wanted to hug her (but didn't! haha). Each time she has made me feel SO comfortable. I really want to recognize what an asset she is. I do hope that she gets to read this (Hi Aicha!) and gets some type of recognition. Because of her, and certainly many many other members of your staff, I have recommended Shoreline Dental to many people. As I said, I think most people don't "enjoy" going to the dentist but with groups like this, I'm just sorry I didn't discover them sooner. I also want to take time to say how unbelievably grateful I am for Dr. Joseph Tartagni was incredible. Yesterday was my first time (and hopefully my last!) having a tooth pulled and he made me feel so at ease. I can't thank him enough for not only seeing me so quickly but making it as pleasant as an experience as having a tooth pulled could be. Totally professional, efficient, and above all else - SO kind. His son, Dr. Jason Tartagni, I met with at the Milford location as well and can say all the same things. What an absolute top notch practice you all have. 500 stars! Thank you again! I will be back soon!

My experience with this dentist was one of the worst in my life. Last year, I began feeling a…read morestrange sensation in one of my back molars. Concerned, I booked an emergency appointment (which was incredibly expensive) with Dr. Adrienne Tartagni the following day. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I often reflect on how fortunate I was to have questioned whether the procedure was truly necessary, especially considering the invasiveness of a root canal. This situation has left me wondering how many others may have been similarly affected by their practices. If faced with a recommendation for an invasive procedure by this office and you're unsure of its necessity, I strongly urge seeking a second opinion.
