The front desk works hard to get any of my insurance questions answered (you know that whole insurance world can be confusing!) The dental hygienists that I have met are friendly, thorough and educational during my appointments. I have never had another office check my gum health and they make it a point to let me know at each cleaning if I have any areas of gingivitis and how I can improve my pockets. The doctors and the assistants here are all very professional and relatable and make an effort to get to know me at each visit. You can tell they are not out for your money and will only do work that is needed. The staff - from the front desk, to the billing office, and certainly to the Dentists could not be more amazing. Everyone at all levels is so professional and polite. My experience with this dentist was one of the worst in my life. Last year, I began feeling a…read morestrange sensation in one of my back molars. Concerned, I booked an emergency appointment (which was incredibly expensive) with Dr. Adrienne Tartagni the following day. The appointment seemed routine; they took X-rays, which I didn't expect to reveal anything alarming since I had seen my own dentist back in my home state less than two months prior for an exam and cleaning, as I don't reside permanently in CT. After reviewing the X-rays, Dr. Tartagni performed a hot and cold test on my tooth and abruptly informed me that I needed a root canal. I was surprised because I didn't feel much during the test and mentioned this to her. Looking back, it seemed like she was either guessing or pushing for unnecessary treatment. After being told I needed a root canal, I was taken to the financial office and given an exorbitant out-of-pocket estimate. The news was especially stressful since I am a college student and my dental coverage is in my home state. Ultimately, I sought a second opinion from my dentist back home, who promptly reassured me that my tooth was perfectly fine and that I had narrowly avoided being taken advantage of. Multiple X-rays confirmed this, and other dentists agreed that no treatment was necessary. This happened about a year ago, and today, my tooth feels completely normal and the strange sensation has disappeared. It even felt better a couple of days after the visit, despite the lady working in the financial office saying that the "pain would likely just get worse" if I didn't go through with the procedure. My dentist back in my home state confirmed it was just sensitivity, which I'm confident he was correct about. I believe Dr. Tartagni and her office should feel ashamed for causing such unnecessary stress. While I understand that medical professionals can make mistakes, the entire experience was incredibly frustrating. I often reflect on how fortunate I was to have questioned whether the procedure was truly necessary, especially considering the invasiveness of a root canal. This situation has left me wondering how many others may have been similarly affected by their practices. If faced with a recommendation for an invasive procedure by this office and you're unsure of its necessity, I strongly urge seeking a second opinion.

My dentist recommended me to see Dr. Amato due…read moreto I have some weird periodontal issue.( a small hole appeared above my gum line, and started foam white discharge) Went to see the doc on 06/17, Dr. Amato decided we should have a small surgery. I had surgery on that day, and told to come back next week to check on the healing. 06/24 was told everything look fine, come back in 3 weeks. However, I pointed out, my gum line is uneven. Doc and nurse said need to wait at least 3-4 weeks before they can do anything. They assure me it will look even. 07/18 Dr. Amato decided to laser the gum line a little bit, so they will look even, it was about 2mm difference at that time. If I smile, you can definitely tell the difference. It was a very quick procedure. During the procedure, Dr. Amato checked with his nurse , he said " do you think I should do a little more? ", He also asked me that question. I was pretty confused , I am not professional. I left office , I sat in my car, I looked into my mirror, I was like, maybe he should laser a little bit more. I went back in the office, spoke to his nurse, I said since I am still numb, do you think we could laser a little bit more. She told me, it was not necessary, if it is still uneven, they will fix it next time. don't worry about it. Today, 08/12, another 3 weeks went by, my gum line is still uneven. Dr. Amato told me, first, he does not have time to fix my gum line, second , if I do want my gum line fixed, I need to pay $1000+ to fix it. Yes, I had small teeth before , now I have bigger teeth and uneven gum line, so if you are looking for a periodontics, would you go with this office?
