(1 Star) I stayed here with 2 adults and 2 children, and unfortunately our experience was very disappointing. The room we were given did not match the photos on Booking.com. The property is very outdated, and the room had several unnecessary plug-ins and an overall worn-down appearance that didn't reflect what we expected based on the listing. The biggest issue, however, was the customer service. When I arrived, I waited in the office while the man working there walked right past me. I greeted him with a friendly "hello," but he completely ignored me. When he finally came into the office, the interaction was very cold and abrupt. He simply said, "Sign here," without any welcome or basic courtesy. Checkout wasn't any better. We were just trying to get our $20 cash deposit back, but he had a rude attitude and made us feel like we were an inconvenience. Throughout our stay, there was no warmth, hospitality, or professionalism. This did not feel like a family-friendly place. Hospitality starts with treating guests with respect, and unfortunately that was missing here. I understand that every business has rules, but there's a respectful way to communicate them. I tried booking a room here online to get some rest before continuing on our trip to see family up north only to arrive after a very long drive and be denied of what I had already payed for, the manager said It's not a complete payment. I guess since I saved by paying online he wanted to have me pay him more money along with the deposit to make up for what he would've lost. I was willing to pay the rest just to get into a room already but it's only 2 adults per room and it's me, my cousin and her kid, he was fine with it until he seen my little cousin who looks 18 while only being 13, he wanted to pass him off as the second adult while continuously asking for his ID before allowing us to purchase the already purchased room so we didn't even bother trying to convince him and left. This place isn't welcome to families or anybody in general, I wouldn't recommend this or many other similar hotels in Whittier they all want every cent out of you in return with the worst service possible, just stay out of Whittier unless you have 160$ to freely drop on a room read more

This experience was absolutely horrible. Checked in at about 330pm and was never informed they had no water running. Went to the front desk to talk to an older man who was middle eastern with glasses and he didn't even budge to look at me and said give it 2 hours, of course we waited given the fact that there was no refunds and no exceptions what so ever. My fiancé went down to asks after 4 hours of no water, and the people at the desk said another 2 hours. I then went down and asked this man if we would be compensated for not having water, and he said NO and turned away without looking at me. I wasn't being disrespectful. I just wanted what we paid for. From 330pm to about 11pm, we couldn't shower, We couldn't wash our hands after using the restroom, and we couldn't flush the toilet. Again, no one notified us about this, and unfortunately, we were still watching the front desk check people in. I'm sure if they were notified about the water, they wouldn't have stayed there. I feel we were cheated out of our money, our stay, and comfort. All we needed to do was shower and sleep after 2 days of moving. Morning arrives, and we are cleaning and packing our things, and my fiance opens a new pack of toilet paper and a roach, falls out of the toilet paper, and hits his foot! I can't believe all this happened in 1 motel in less than a 24-hour stay. I will never return, and I hope this review makes everyone aware of this establishments conditions. read more

I booked Room #308 at the Lambert Inn for 7 nights from October 5th to the 12th for business where I needed 1 week of seclusion to study online courses and take several online quizzes and exams for recertification and licensing. That was a week of hell, and I felt helpless. You see, on the day of check-in, I went to the office window and requested a lower level room but the man behind the glass said "No, you're taking the 3rd floor," and I was shocked because his tone was as if he was fighting with me. So, I politely signed in and went to the room and tried to get settled in and set up for studying. Then I decided that I'd watch something on cable TV before getting started studying. However, the cable TV remote wasn't working so I went to the office and the same man tested the remote and added batteries without uttering one word, which felt weird. When I went back to the room, the cable TV with fresh batteries did not turn on the Directv cable box, so I went back down to the office and the same man said, I'll come check it out tomorrow, but he never actually came the next day or any other day, except on the last day when it was time for me to check out, so cable TV was unavailable to me for my entire week. The worst part is that this hotel room if not the entire hotel is infested with roaches. Roaches were encountered everywhere, on my bed, my pillow, on the nightstands, on top and inside the refrigerator and microwave, on top of the AC/Heater unit, running across the walls and carpet, in the wash-hand basin sink and countertop, around an in the bath-tub and toilet. I also had to flick one off of my left forearm, and while I was studying, two ran across my computer screen, one crawled up the computer power cord, and one on the keyboard. In my one-week stay, I killed a total of [68] roaches, and there were several that got away, so that number could have been higher. I couldn't really sleep well, eat well, or study well because of the roach infestation, but I couldn't even deal with the office man because he was so uncourteous. I felt sick the entire time and the reality is I was stuck there because I couldn't just pick up my things and go pay for another Inn or Hotel without a full refund. There is a huge sign above the office window that reads "No Refunds." I left there not just feeling sick, but with a mild earache that has gotten worse, but I haven't gone to the doctor yet to get to the bottom of my symptoms - it could be that a roach has gotten into my ear. The day I was leaving, I decided to check everything to make sure I wasn't leaving with any roaches, so I opened the room door and started to put my things outside as they were cleared of roaches. Then the same office man showed up and told me "check-out time," not even greeting me with the time of the day. I said to him, "I've killed over 60 roaches here, and I'm just making sure I'm not taking any with me." He said, "Okay, okay," and went back down to the office. I continued to check everything and went down to the office at 11:15 AM; put the keys under the window which he took without uttering a word. I thought that was it with these people, but when I walked over to my car, I found that they put a half-rotting potato on my car near the driver-side windshield wiper. I didn't know what to make of it, so I took a few pictures. Later my sister found something on the internet that in the Indian culture, it's for me to be sympathetic. So basically, I'm supposed to sympathize with them and not leave this review. How about apologizing to me for my hellish experience and giving me a full refund - not an option eh? Well, I decided to report everything to Booking.com who called them on my behalf to request a refund, but they failed to answer the phone for Booking.com, so Booking.com told me to go ahead and leave this review, but it was limiting so I decided to leave and expanded version here. Property is in dire need of a complete renovation and new management. The pictures of the property looked okay on the internet, but in person it was a significant decline from the photos that may have been taken a while ago. Due to a couple of accidents that held up traffic on the freeway, I arrived two hour later than anticipated checking in around 10:00 p.m. on a Sunday evening. Getting out of my car, the first thing I heard was an electric saw buzzing and hammers pounding away, obviously construction was in progress, but at 10:00 p.m. on a Sunday evening? That was more than unusual. I asked the manager if I had to listen to that all night and he said, "No. It will stop at 11:00." Personally, I think construction going on until 11:00 p.m. on a Sunday evening is not acceptable. There were no blankets and it was a chilly night so I slept in my PJ's, socks and the jacket I arrived in for warmth. The wall heater/AC didn't seem to do much other than circulate the air. A paper strip on the toilet indicated it was sanitized, but there were marks on the toilet seat that initially I thought was dirt, but it was a grayish paint or some sort of epoxy I believe to patch chips or scratches on the cover. The shower/bathtub had the same grayish paint or epoxy in many spots. The room did not have a bad smell so I am assuming it was clean. Nonetheless, I did not shower or use that tub. In the bedroom area, peeling paint around the door jam, walls and the lamp shades were damaged; not on the outside of the shade, but inside the shade. Even though the carpet was worn and looked clean, I never took off my socks off to be on the safe side. The only reason I didn't leave was the hotel was located very close to a cemetery where I had to attend for a funeral early in the morning and I am not familiar with that area. I think I got two hours of sleep because a child in the room above me ran around their room for what seemed to be hours. Not a good experience at all. read more

One of the worst hotels ever. The room smells like dust. The ac smells like dust. The shower pressure is very hard. No deposit and I see why the toilet and showers make noises. The bed is very hard. The lamps don't have covers. The customer service was awful they wouldn't give us extra towels.Also the remote to the TV was covered in sticky stuff and the door is hard to lock and unlock Do Not Come Here it's Awful . Absolutely disgusting. The pictures on expedia looked nice but boy are they diceiving! First of all there is literally no lobby, just a glass window with a hole so you can slide papers back and forth and the guy speaks so soft that you can't even hear him. Secondarily, they make you pay a cash deposit to receive the key to your room. Thirdly, our "non-smoking" room reaked of smoke and the icing on the cake was that even though they advertise that they serve a free breakfast THEY DO NOT. OH, and don't even get me started on the broken fire alarm, TV and hairdryer or the ugly fake flowers and how dirty the property was. read more

DO NOT STAY HERE! This place was awful. I booked this hotel for my elderly mother and teenage daughter. The owner harassed them during their stay. He sat outside their room at night. Then this morning, when my brother and I arrived to check them out a day early, he opened the door and tried to bust in past my brother. He said, "I am the owner. I can come in whenever I want to!!" He also refused to give them toilet paper and he tried to charge $20 just so they could have a key to open the door. I asked him for a receipt. He refused to give me one. Luckily I booked through an outside company so this shady owner can't touch my credit card. This was straight out of a horror movie. read more

Wow this palace is bad. Terrible. I stayed in a big room because I wanted a kitchen. Dirty and not much dishes, etc. Obviously used to be the apartment. There was a strange storage closet in it. One day the owners asked to come and get something, strange. Supposed to be non smoking, but I could smell smoke coming in thru the bathroom vent. I informed the front desk and they didn't believe me. Unless you have to be in this area, don't stay here. read more

A rating of 1 is too generous! Do not stay here! We arrived at LAX on a midnight flight so we paid for the night of 3/17/22 and check in 3/18/22 at 1:45am. A $20 deposit was required for the room key. Their Covid-19 policy stated to practice social distancing at breakfast. We were told at check-in there was no breakfast (false advertisement). They advertise this place as immaculate, comfortable with fine accommodations. The pillows smelled of body odor, the bed felt like sleeping on a board, the lamp shade was falling apart from inside and the lamp light flickered. The door did not have an interior safety latch. I asked for hangers and was told "No hangers". At 2:30am there were cars racing on the street outside our window. That morning I went to ask for an extra towel (there were only two towels provided for three people) the man was responding to the buzzer with no shirt and a towel wrapped around his waist. He went back in to get a shirt. That same day in the evening around 5pm I asked the owner to cancel the rest of our reservation. We were not going to subject ourselves to this place for the rest of our stay in Whittier. I expected to pay for that evening but asked for a refund for the following 3 nights. The owner pointed to a sign that said "No Refunds". We checked out that night and were denied a refund of $286. Our stay was supposed to be for 5 nights. I asked for documentation of our check out and the owner said my credit card receipt at check-in was all I get. He had me fill out a check-in form which I asked to have a copy of and he refused to provide that. We checked in to the Vagabond Inn a few minuted away on Whittier Blvd. which was wonderful! read more

THEY DENY SERVICE ANIMALS!!! I called the hotel trying to make a reservation for me, my husband, and my service dog. The owner snapped at me screaming "No dogs allowed". What can I say about this dump that others have not said themselves already? So I made the mistake of throwing money away in reserving a room here. So not only did this waste of space mess up my reservation by taking the wrong date (to be honest the lady is so hard to understand), but when I checked in, I had not even sat down to settle my stuff when there came a pounding knocking accompanied by yelling and screeching at my rooms's door. As I walked to answer the door the pounding and screaming only got louder and the lady insisted I leave the room due to another error on their part as to my reservation. Good thing I booked using an online service because I'd be damned if I was not going to press for a full refund. Which I got. Looking back I am glad I skipped on resting the night at this roach infested tobacco laced pile of garbage encased in moldy rotting concrete that didn't even pass for a storage space. So glad I did not dare even enter the bathroom. I would have been worse off. Never stay here, even if you are drunk, sleep in your car or at the park instead, this place is just not worth any real money better spent making more worthwhile mistakes that won't give you bedbugs or have roaches crawl into bed with you as you inhale decades of cigarettes belted out through an old POS moldy air conditioner unit. Terrible service. Stayed here one night because I was in town for a wedding. One of my friends slept in our room since she drank and didn't feel safe driving home. We asked for one extra blanket and the overnight manager was extremely rude and refused. He kept telling us there was already an extra blanket inside (no there was not), he refused to believe us. Treated us like we were trash for no reason. I personally refuse to sleep with hotel comforters (I don't believe they are cleaned as they should be), so we had one sheet in the hotel. A simple blanket could have solved this but the overnight manager decided to make it a fight. The next morning we talked to the daytime female manager and she was also cold/rude. Where do I start? Am not a fan of saying or writing a bad review but we can't get what we need as customers if we don't voice are concerns for those looking for somewhere to stay the night. Let's start with the smell of old folks retirement home from the 50/60's when you were allow to smoke in your room. As I walked in the room you can see no ironing board and definitely no hangers your clothes, There was no coffee pot for your morning caffeine addicts. There was a jacuzzi in the room that all it did was keep water as if it was a a huge bucket. The jets in the tub were there for looks, am sure we figured out it worked but it didn't. Missing towels as if only one person was staying in the room. Look, if there's a jacuzzi in the room you're going to need extra towels. One last thing, ok two. No ice bucket and if you don't mind a guest in the room with you singing " La Cucaracha" I suggest a different song because am not fan of that particular song. read more

PROS: clean (though not everyday), there's always parking, rooms are easy to access and it's close to Whittier Blvd. And there's a gas station right next door, very handy. CONS: owner calls you up at 8am to scream at you if you haven't paid your bill (because your roommate didn't tell you there was one due) and insists you come down immediately to pay it, then continues to scream at you down the phone and threatens to "throw your bags outside the room". Perhaps this could be solved by a system where you pay before checking in? Oh, and the water coming out of the tap smells like it contains faecal matter. read more

We came back to the hotel from a wedding at around 2:15 am and there was only one parking spot , I could not park there because the idiot who parked next to that spot took a big section of the lot. Worst hotel experience of my life. When we called we were quoted a $95.00 rate. When we arrived we informed the owner that we were AAA members and he said that was the same rate as the normal rate. Their was major construction being done. Power drilling was being done. When we entered our room the dead bolt did not work, nor did the phone and the pillows "wafer thin." I explained to the owners wife that I had been in the hospital all day and needed to elevate my legs and if I could have more pillows. She told me two more pillows were in the drawers and that is all we get. I explained again that I needed to elevate my leg and pointed to my swollen leg. She looked at my leg and again said that is all you get. We ended up checking out as my boyfriend was so upset as to how they responded to a simple pillow request. We ended up going to the Radisson for $25.00 more but it is worth the extra money for the service Radisson provides. read more

I have been here a countless number of times. Rates are really low compared to other hotels in Whittier with similar amenities. Rooms are comfortable. There is a refrigerator, microwave, and coffeemaker in all the rooms. Televisions vary...there are HDTVs with a DVD player, HDTVs without a DVD player, and standard televisions. You can try to request what kind of television you want at the time you call when you make reservations; depending on room availability. They upgraded their Wi-Fi about six months ago and can now reach all rooms pretty well. read more
