Shot out to Ashley M for outstanding service! We're usually used to staying at some of the larger Marriott brands, but we decided to stay here for one night (3/15/26-3/16/26) since we just needed a quick getaway close to home and it ended up being such a cute little hotel. The room was clean and comfortable, but what really made our stay stand out was the service. Everyone we encountered was incredibly sweet and gracious, but ASHLEY M. truly went above and beyond. I had originally asked for a pool view but couldn't really see it from our room. Without hesitation, she said, "Give me a moment," and rearranged things to get us a room with a proper pool view. That alone was amazing, but then I realized I had left something behind in the previous room. Ashley immediately reassured me and had someone retrieve it and bring it right over. She handled everything with such kindness, a smile, and genuine care, it really made a difference. When we checked out, I believe the manager's name was Isaac (I didn't catch it for sure), and he was just as pleasant and professional. You could tell the way the place is run reflects strong, gracious leadership. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Clean, welcoming, and filled with kind people who truly care. I travel regularly for business and mostly stay with the Marriott brand. I have never experienced anything this terrible. This stay was far below expected standards in cleanliness & guest care. I would strongly advise against staying here. I endured an extended business stay at this property and from the start, the room was not properly cleaned -- food debris on the floors, a heavily soiled couch with crumbs throughout, and an unsanitary shower head that required replacement. Maintenance issues, including plumbing (foul smelling water) and power concerns, took days to resolve. Housekeeping was inconsistent and often unacceptable. On multiple occasions, floors were not cleaned, sheets were not changed, and visibly stained bedding was placed on the bed. Debris was left behind, including someone else's hair and trash, indicating the room was not properly serviced. Most concerning, I experienced insect activity and developed a significant bite during my stay that is still healing. A colleague on the same floor reported similar issues. This raises serious sanitation and health concerns. Despite multiple reports, concerns were dismissed or inadequately addressed at the management level. Rather than resolving the issues, responses were deflective and unprofessional. I ultimately had to escalate this matter to corporate to receive any acknowledgment. For a Marriott property, this is unacceptable and this establishment is unfit. I would never return to this property. read more

My partner had a tourney at Rio Hondo, so we decided to do a little staycation. And wow, what a beautiful hotel! Check-in was smooth and friendly, and the amenities were really nice. The gym had tons of machines, so I got a solid workout in, and there was a small pool, happy to see a pool at all! The bed was super comfy, and the breakfast was delicious, lots of good options. I'd definitely recommend this spot. The only weird thing is the parking, it's $15, which seems odd since it's in the same lot as Dunkin' Donuts, and there didn't seem to be security or any indoor parking to justify the fee. I think it should be included in the room rate. Other than that, great stay! read more

This hotel is very clean. Checking in was Smooth. The room was clean and comfortable. Very quiet hotel. Breakfast in the morning too. I had a late check out , nobody bothered me while I rested. Found this gem on hotels.com for a work stay. It is hidden in the back so a little hard to find. Clean location, rooms are huge and beds are very comfy. Fairly new location. Nice that it's close to shopping mall, Starbucks and food spots. There is daily parking fee. The room is nice and spacious. We were on the lower level 1st floor conveniently close to the lobby for the free breakfast. A few con that I saw was the showers were a bit sloppy on cleaning , there was hair still in the shower. Bed sheets had stains. The shower body wash had a strong manly scent. So I advise you bring your own shower toiletries... so glad I had my stuff. Other than those things it was a pleasant stay, staff is nice and the room was spacious. Great for families. read more

BLOOD ON THE BLANKETS, AND THE ROOM WAS DIRTY! YOU ALSO HAVE TO PAY FOR PARKING! Okay- let's get into this. I think for 160 a night, and the almost $600.00 that I spent, this room was not worth it at all. I absolutely loved the location, the front staff is so nice- but the room was filthy. I'm not one of those people who come with a black light (but maybe I should've) and I really don't complain-ever. This time, it was actually more than needed to say something. Whoever was there before me, must've threw a rager with 10 people, because the room was all around bad. The couch was dirty, the blankets were dirty, and the pillows. I asked staff to change it while I was gone, so the front guy said that it would be done. 4 hours later, I came back- nothing was changed. I finally had enough, and said I wasn't happy with the room. He said he called the housekeeping supervisor? I am not sure if he actually did. I called the front, they said someone would come. I fell asleep, and someone finally came 2 hours later. She woke me up, told me to wait outside, because she can't clean with me there? I waited 15 mins- and she still didn't do much. I'm standing in the hallway half asleep, while paying $600.00, for a dirty room. I've never had anything like this happen to me before! Luckily I brought my own sheets and blankets. BUT, what if I didn't? lol. I asked the front if they're short on cleaning staff- because there was just no way this was acceptable. He said "ummm no? I don't think. I'm not sure" ah. *PROS* The breakfast is good, the front staff is extremely nice. The location is also great! *CONS* The room was not worth the money, and I will never come back. It was dirty, smelled weird, and the cleaning staff is very unprofessional and a bit rude. I think they should be embarrassed as to how they left this room. *Also charging for parking right here (in Downey, not Los Angeles) should be a crime * Point blank, find a different hotel if you want to celebrate your birthday in peace. read more

I'm always looking for newer hotels to stay at when traveling and this hotel didn't disappoint. The room was spacious and clean, just how I like it. The location wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. The hotel is in the same parking lot as Dunkin Donuts. There's also a mall across the street, Porto's is a few minutes away, and there's plenty of places to dine in around the area. I would definitely stay here again. read more

New hotel opened up about a month ago. SpringHill suites is under the Marriott brand of hotels. Lobby is nice and modern. Lots of free amenities, Free parking, included breakfast, gym and pool areas. Friendly staff. Because they are new a few things need to be worked out. 5 minutes after I checked in I got a knock on my door to fix the toilet. I had not called but it was running so maintenance came to fix it. Turns out they needed more time to fix it so I requested a new room. Also I noticed the outlet in the bathroom wasn't working. So went down and got a new room. Seems the left hand is not talking to the right hand, they shouldn't have rented out that room if there were gonna be people working on it. I'm sure it's just the little things that they'll work out once things get going. When I got to my new room there were 2 pieces of painters tape stuck to the ceiling around a sprinkler head. Idk what that's about either a note for someone to fix something or leftover from something being fixed The room itself was comfortable a bit narrow between the bathroom and beds. The Bedroom is big enough and rather spacious. It has a large closet which I haven't seen in any hotel. The lightning in the room is lacking a little and forces you to use the bathroom light for lighting in the bedroom area. But there is a desk and couch area with enough light if you're gonna do any kind of work. I did find it odd that the shower head was on one side of the shower and the controls were directly across it. Maybe that's a new design thing, idk. Overall a nice new hotel, comfortable, friendly staff. The only thing I didn't like was the unprotected WI-FI, no password necessary. I just used my data. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again. The location is a little set back in the parking lot, turn in after the Foot Locker store. read more

There was a problem with their boiler and my room had no hot water. Nothing could be done, nothing was done to remedy. $180/night cold shower. I felt that shouldn't have been my problem to deal with. The hotel should have done something to at least attempt to remedy the inconvenience. I did receive a heart felt apology from a maintenance person but nothing from Marriott. read more

The rooms are almost new but one of the bedrooms has already an old man smell on it. Fixtures are wobbly and fell apart by itself specifically the handle at sliding door of the bathroom. We came in around 4:30 to check in but they said one of rooms are not ready since the tv was not working... we waited another couple of hours and I just went to the front desk multiple times and ask them if I can just go in the room even if the tv is not working so they let us in. Then I ask led for late checkout or to compensate the time I lost checking in. But they (Evelyn) said at first latest was at 1130! I was frustrated bec they (Mohammed) said the night before that he will guarantee that I can check out at 12 noon. Then I called Evelyn in the morning and I ask to have at least extend it to 1 pm. And she said she can't? That's unacceptable since we paid for that hours for the rooms. They should at least give me back my 2 hours back or something... I hope they will live up to their commitment when they say 4 pm and make sure that if they don't, try to at least return back the two hours upon checking out. I will try again to stay if I have to and maybe I'll get a different outcome. I hope management will see this and address it. read more

Our group frequently travels and stays at Marriott properties, but SpringHill Suites in Downey, CA was by far the worst experience we've ever had. The front desk and security staff were incredibly rude. Elevators were out of service the entire weekend, and when more guests started using them, an "Out of Service" sign magically appeared. A guest staying long-term even said this happens all the time. Safety was also a huge concern. Homeless individuals were freely roaming the parking lot -- one was walking around with a screwdriver and clearly under the influence. We reported it, but nothing was done. Yet the staff had no problem shutting down the lobby at 11 p.m. and claiming signs were posted (there weren't any). With a lounge and bar in the lobby, that made no sense. We had a group contract, were respectful, and followed the rules. Still, we were treated poorly. I even asked to add my Bonvoy number after checkout and was told no -- something other Marriotts have always been willing to do. Bottom line: Terrible service, unsafe surroundings, and a disappointing Marriott experience. Avoid this location if you're traveling with a group or expect even basic hospitality. read more

I live in Downey and had a work conference at the SpringHill suites and it was amazing. We were able to see the full facility and were very impressed. I'm glad I went because we have family reunions and they always stay in Norwalk or Cerritos. I'm so happy I have a local clean , professional,welcoming place to consider. Stayed one night for medical purpose at PIH Health. (Which is only 4 min. away). The front desk man was super friendly. The room was small but totally workable for two of us. There's a fridge, microwave, coffee, and safe in room. Bed is comfortable but pillows and bedding are standard. There's a small bar, but no restaurant. Joe the bartender is friendly and pours good drinks. There's a pool, but no jacuzzi. The reason we chose this hotel instead embassy is that we can control the AC. It's January and we were able to turn it down to 64°! read more

Though there are some issues with check in and service, I would stay at this hotel again and here is why. The location is phenomenal. It's walking distance to a full shopping mall with food options like BJs and Olive Garden, a bank, a Walgreens (had to do a diaper run and didn't even need to get in the car), Starbucks and Dunkin Donuts. There are not many places in the greater LA area that don't require a car but if you stay here there are at least some convenient options nearby. The rooms are hygienic and well appointed. They make good space of a tiny area. Please note that at the time of this review they were only doing cleaning "every other day" which means if you arrive in a Friday and depart on Sunday, your room will not be cleaned during your stay. Instead, it's cleaned on Friday before you arrive and on Sunday after you depart. They have complimentary breakfast which is your standard basic yogurt, waffle, sausage patty situation. They offer coffee as well but as I said, you can opt for Starbucks nearby. Finally, they have a small fun sized bar in the lobby that opens in the evening. It's very small. Like smaller than an Apple Genius Bar, but it works for an evening cocktail before you go out. I would stay here again. read more

After traveling from DC on business, I decided to stay at Springhill Suites in Downey because I was exhausted and too tired to drive home. I made reservations in the parking lot and immediately noticed that I had made the reservations for the following day. I cancelled the reservation with in minute and immediately rebooked for that night. Springhill Suites charged me anyway and refused to refund $200 for that 45 second reservation. Enjoy my $200 that you STOLE from me Springhill Suites. I usually travel about once a month and spend thousands at your hotel but you will NEVER get another dime from me. Oh, and I'm going to tell everyone that I talk to about your thievery. Shameful. read more

Let me be clear, the hotel is new, nicely appointed and near shopping and restaurants alike. Across the street from Stonewood mall, adjacent to Dunkin Donuts and Footlocker- and just down the street from DT Downey and the Downey Promenade which makes the perfect setup for a good time. The staff is friendly- but my personal opinion is that management needs a lesson or two on hospitality and possibly even public affairs. I hosted my daughters 10th birthday celebration here, and our dreams were one more incident away from becoming our nightmares. 9/17/23- Reservations' were made using my corporate discount for (2) double queen suites for 12/8/23 to 12/09/23 12/3/23- received a generic email about the upcoming reservation. This prompted me to reach out by phone and I spoke with a very professional and energetic staff member, Ernesto, to inquire about securing adjoining rooms. He was extremely helpful and explained that although no guarantees could be made, he would make a notation on the reservation and that the Marriot and its' staff would try their best to make it happen. 12/7/23- Daniel Kramer (Dan)!!!! Polar opposite. We chatted in person about making arrangements to secure the cost prior to check-in since I had last minute meetings scheduled for the check-in date. I explained that I had appointed someone to help, but wanted to take care of the cost beforehand. He made it a point to reiterate the cost and that the funds should be available since the hold is not released instantly. We went back and forth about how we could approach this situation. He seemed to lack empathy, problem-solving strategies, or soft skills for that matter. Reluctantly, he finally offered to send me a Credit Card Authorization Form, later when he returned to his office. He made it abundantly clear he could not give an approximate time on when he would send the form because it was NOT his priority due to other pressing matters of the hotel. I received the form(s) with instructions on how to complete them from Mr. Kramer's email later that night. I did so, authorizing for the incidental hold as well as the $40 upcharge. 12/8/23- To keep it short, my credit card was authorized several times, which resulted in a fraud alert and freeze on my account, my appointed person was still asked to pay the $40 upcharge fee upon arrival to check-in, which she too encountered Mr. Kramer...and to make matters worst- 12/29/23 I was charged $173.63 for what was explained by Lily T. as a no-show reservation charge. I was told at the end of the year they have to clear the books for all reservations that failed to appear. We occupied both our reservations and I had receipts to show the charges for both rooms. I like this hotel, and stayed here twice before this incident. I am entirely sadden by how the events played out, but no longer wish to share my memories, earnings, and have since shared with my company to re-evaluate how we work with them in the future. This establishment wants to charge the consumer $12 parking for no apparent reason. It is adjacent to Dunkin' Donuts and Footlocker's parking and the parking facilities aren't covered or gated. Just one more way to screw the consumer. When you bring it up to the Management they follow the script and state it's on our website and app when booking we charge for parking. That's not the point Sir....its your greed the issue. Gen Manager Dan needs to take a coarse on hospitality. read more

Great stay bud, when checking out, some items were left behind. I realized of the situation contact in the hotel couldn't get through any body ended up going to the hotel to the front desk to let them knows the situation . They said they were going to look in to it. I never got a call back. Ended up having my daughter tracking the item that was left behind showed that it was near by the facility. Indicating a housekeeping employee end up taking that item and not reporting it. Paranormal Hunters// October people who love spooky stuff, don't pay extra to stay at the Queen Mary if you wanna experience a ghost encounter stay here! Long story short I stayed in room 248 on the second floor , a room closer to the corner of the hallway, with a couple of friends. As soon as we walked into the room the day we first checked in, I literally saw a black shadow in the room. I jokingly said to my friends "there's a ghost in here" but I was playing around since I felt I could've been wrong. Next night my friend wakes up at 3am to his bed sheets flying OFF him!! My other friend felt like he was scratched by a female with long nails. It was INSANE!! if you're planning on staying here definitely record! We didn't know it was haunted we stayed here cause it's a new hotel and it's nice. Had no idea it came with ghosts! It's clean, quiet, I recommend if you're not scared and wanna experience a little thrill! It has a gym too and breakfast ends at 9:20am. read more

Attempted to book a room online. Marriott website crashed and I never received a confirmation email, so I called the desk directly to confirm my reservation. The front desk agent told me he cannot see any reservation under my name, and he also cannot help me book the discounted rate I was attempting to use, I must book for myself online. I went back online, and this location had no more rooms at my rate, so I ended up booking a Marriott a few miles over. The next day I have a "no Show" charge on my bank account for the reservation that the desk clerk could not find the night before. Still, no email of the reservation or of this "no Show", even though they read my email address back to me, so they must have it. I was able to speak with the general manager, Uni Hunter, who was extremely unprofessional and completely unwilling to help me, forcing me to file a dispute with my bank. This property is a joke and the staff all the way up to the GM is incompetent. Beware of billing mischarges and mistakes from the inept staff! read more

My company had a management retreat in late February. We used several of their meeting rooms which were very spacious. We catered lunch and dinner, and the banquet server and coordinator were awesome. They were attentive to anything I needed for the meeting room or our food items. The banquet servers always made the snack/lunch that we provided very presentable. I had the opportunity to hang out at the bar and I got to say the sangria was a hit for me. If you are needing a place to have a meeting or staycation I highly recommend Springhill Suites. read more

First impressions are important and I was a bit disappointed when the receptionist there laughed in my face after asking her if how much was the fee for a cancellation she just stood there laughing like if it was a joke . Not sure if she was laughing at me bc she thought I can't afford it but I did think it was rude of her to not give me a price after all staying here at this hotel is not cheap if I would have wanted I could had taken my family else where but I didn't and for her to just laugh in my face made me mad . My boyfriend and I stayed here for 2 nights after driving down from the Bay Area for my friend's wedding. We got back from the wedding a little late around 11:00 pm. When we got into our room, we noticed our TV wasn't working. We called the front desk to see if someone could fix it, and they said they would send someone up. A couple minutes later, a man who seemed like a manager (wish I caught his name) knocked on our door to fix it. He was trying everything he could to fix it, running to grab different cords and everything, but the screen would just go black. He was apologizing profusely for the inconvenience and offered to move us to a different room. We hadn't really unpacked anything, so it was no big deal to move rooms. He gave us the keys to a new room and when we got to the new room he had made us up a gift bag full of candy, popcorn, snacks, and cold water bottles. It was really nice and thoughtful. The tv really wasn't a big deal to us, we just like to watch shows while we're going to bed. We were really pleased that he fixed our problem and went above and beyond to make up for the inconvenience. Aside from that small issue the first night, we had a really nice stay. The beds are really comfy, everything is clean, our room was very roomy. It's always nice staying somewhere that really cares about their guests. Issues are sometimes unavoidable and out of the staff's control, but the fact that someone went out of their way to fix it for us and even left us some little goodies really made our night. read more
