This DoubleTree hotel is located around the Whittier downtown area. I came here for a trading card show event a few weekends ago, and had a pleasant time. Firstly, there's parking in the hotel and it's free. However, for large events, the parking garage does get filled up quickly, so I recommend coming early. I then walked to the entrance and was greeted by security - I appreciate the level of effort they put into making it safe for guests and visitors. There was plenty to of space for the card show, basically one huge room and one smaller room. In short, the space was large to fit a lot of vendors while it still feeling relatively spacious. The best part about this hotel is proximity to other places. It's near great restaurants and stores. Overall, this DoubleTree was a fantastic location for hosting events such as a trading card show.

I was looking for a reasonably priced hotel that wasn't too far between Las Vegas and Los Angeles and I opted to stay at the Doubletree Whittier. This is a nifty little property that has a lot going for it indeed. Located in a cute downtown area with lots of local shops, bars, and restaurants, I arrived late at night. Too late to enjoy many of the nearby things to do (next time I'd probably stay here and arrive earlier so I could walk around the adorable downtown area). The hotel is steps from all sorts of places to hang out, and it looked very inviting. Parking is free and in an adjacent parking garage. It didn't feel very secure, so be sure to lock up your valuables. At night, the hotel entrance that was most convenient to the garage was literally BOLTED shut, so we had to walk a ways with our heavy luggage to go in the main front entrance. If you arrive later at night, it's best to drop off your luggage with one member in your party and then go park to avoid having to haul lots of bags. The parking spots are also SUPER small, so be prepared to get dings and dents in your car if you have a larger SUV. Hotel check-in was fine, but I wasn't welcomed back as a Diamond Member. It's dumb I know, but something that at least makes me feel valued. We were given an upgrade and had a King room on the first floor that overlooked the pool area. Our patio had a very nice table and chair set-up with a great view of the pool (see photos). Again, super bummed that we really weren't able to take advantage of this since we got to the hotel so late that night. The room felt dated but was very clean, and the furnishings were in good condition. The bathroom was modern and bright, and the bed was so comfortable. As Hhonors Diamond members, we were also given a per-person credit that we opted to spend in the small lobby shop to get some Evian water and snacks. It's a nice perk that we appreciated. The hotel seems to specialize in groups, conventions and weddings, and I can see why. It's a very nice hotel and I'd stay here again. Oh, and the complimentary warm Doubletree chocolate chip cookies provided at check-in were excellent! It's one of the best perks of staying at a Doubletree.

We LOVE their Mother's Day and Easter brunches. So good and they decorate so nicely too! Bottomless mimosas, crab legs, omelet bar, carving station and a taco guy this year!

Decided to treat the fam bam & myself of course to some delicious DoubleTree cookies. We are fans of these, but man these came out HARD! My husband & I were told by the woman at the counter they were baked fresh daily, but the hardness of them tells me otherwise. At $4 dollars a cookie, I'm expecting to bite into a moist & delicious cookie & this location failed to rep an iconic treat from this franchise. Y'all need to get it together. I feel suckered & bamboozled out of almost $30 bucks.

Stayed here for my wedding during new years weekend and it was super convenient serving its purpose! Room was clean, comfy with helpful amenities like a mini fridge, shampoo, conditioner, and lotion. Bed was comfy and front desk was friendly and helpful. I only minus one star for a moment when the guest elevators weren't working for a little bit but it was during a time when I needed to change for my wedding and the service elevator took a long time. Otherwise, great stay. Highlights: convenient parking and cookies!!!

The room was clean and comfortable, but what really made our stay stand out was the service. Everyone we encountered was incredibly sweet and gracious, but ASHLEY M. truly went above and beyond. I had originally asked for a pool view but couldn't really see it from our room. Without hesitation, she said, "Give me a moment," and rearranged things to get us a room with a proper pool view. That alone was amazing, but then I realized I had left something behind in the previous room. Ashley immediately reassured me and had someone retrieve it and bring it right over. She handled everything with such kindness, a smile, and genuine care, it really made a difference. When we checked out, I believe the manager's name was Isaac (I didn't catch it for sure), and he was just as pleasant and professional. You could tell the way the place is run reflects strong, gracious leadership. Overall, it was a wonderful experience. Clean, welcoming, and filled with kind people who truly care. Definitely two thumbs up!

This stay was far below expected standards in cleanliness & guest care. I would strongly advise against staying here. I endured an extended business stay at this property and from the start, the room was not properly cleaned -- food debris on the floors, a heavily soiled couch with crumbs throughout, and an unsanitary shower head that required replacement. Maintenance issues, including plumbing (foul smelling water) and power concerns, took days to resolve. Housekeeping was inconsistent and often unacceptable. On multiple occasions, floors were not cleaned, sheets were not changed, and visibly stained bedding was placed on the bed. Debris was left behind, including someone else's hair and trash, indicating the room was not properly serviced. Most concerning, I experienced insect activity and developed a significant bite during my stay that is still healing. A colleague on the same floor reported similar issues. This raises serious sanitation and health concerns. Despite multiple reports, concerns were dismissed or inadequately addressed at the management level. Rather than resolving the issues, responses were deflective and unprofessional. I ultimately had to escalate this matter to corporate to receive any acknowledgment. For a Marriott property, this is unacceptable and this establishment is unfit. I would never return to this property.

I've never had to do that before anywhere, including here, he said I just have to get the information for my boss. That was just one of many. I came today called at 9 AM in the morning. Asked when I can check in. They told me come at 11. I said bullshit bro I've been coming here for three years and I've never been charged more than 120. I've been charged 120 in the morning 120 in the afternoon 120 at night no matter what and now these guys trying to get extra money off me probably lying behind his mom and dad's back so he can get an extra 40 here and there. Please go to that one save your money and save your bullshit. Why do you want to get a hotel room when you're trying to relax and have somewhere to stay and then have these fucking clowns give you bullshit for hours. Don't even deal with it. Just don't go here at all. One of the funniest part was when I checked it today to get directions to get there faster the price sign at the bottom that shows this is how expensive it is was one dollar sign on the map app or yelp and then after I had dealt with this entire ordeal today. I took it out to try to write a review And the app updated it to two dollar signs instead of one. Total con artist. Trust me. I promise you this place is the worst.

Something that affected my stay was the pool situation. I was shocked when I discovered how small the pool area is for such a nice big hotel overall. There wasn't enough lounge chairs or anywhere to sit in general. Everyone was playing their own music loud, some louder than others, a bunch of kids splashing everywhere and I was surprised by this since I was thinking this would be a calm, peaceful resort setting. I was honestly surprised that there was no security at the time to enforce anything. Overall I tried to make the best of the circumstances but I will never return to this pool unfortunately. This hotel in general does have great views though.
