We were lucky enough to have a parking spot right in front of it ground for room, which made access to the car for unpacking and packing really easy since we were able to walk out directly from the room to car through the slider door. The couch also pulls out to a bed. Only thing is I wish there was a more secure lock on the main room door to prevent children from easily unlocking/opening the door. My youngest (3 years) is the most wild child I've ever met and is curious, a button pusher, and just wants to go and explore!

My family of 4 had a really disappointing experience at Hyatt House Cypress…read more We arrived around 11:00 AM to check in. I provided my ID and credit card at that time to cover a room upgrade and incidentals. Since the room wasn't ready, we left to visit family and came back around 4:15 PM. When we returned, I realized I had accidentally left my purse (with my ID) at my cousin's house. I explained the situation and showed a clear photo of my ID and passport on my phone. Joseph took his time examining it closely--leaning in, checking the name, and even looking back at his screen--so it was confusing and frustrating when he suddenly said it wasn't acceptable and refused to check me in. If it wasn't going to be accepted, why spend time reviewing it like that in the first place? Made me feel like I was trying to pull a fast one on him or something. It was an odd choice. Anyhow, what made this worse is that I had already checked in earlier and provided my ID and credit card in person. Joseph even acknowledged he could see that in the system, yet he kept repeating himself in an increasingly loud and aggressive tone that he cannot give me my room keys without my physical ID. He eventually offered a "one-time exception" to FaceTime my cousin to show my ID, which I did. But during that process, he continued lecturing me in a raised, hostile voice about not having my ID and what I should do next time. Best way to describe the tone and speech pattern is what ppl call nowadays, a "Karen" voice. Power trip demeanor, tone and all holy thou esque vibes. Some folks really shouldn't be customer facing if you don't like interacting with other humans. My cousin could hear everything and later asked if I was okay because of how aggressive he sounded. This all happened in front of my husband and kids, who were clearly uncomfortable. I remained calm trying to de-escalate the situation so my kids aren't scared, albeit I couldn't help but have a smug smile on my face from the ridiculousness of it all but the situation felt completely unnecessary and honestly demeaning. At one point, even his coworker told him to "take it easy" after I mentioned how hostile his tone was. Joseph's demeanor continued to stay very condescending and passive-aggressive. He asked if we were parking, I said yes. He asked "how many?" Ummmm one car. The question in itself seemed to be asked just to annoy me--idk, maybe it's me but it was just this power trip banter that was not appreciated. He said parking is $12/night. My husband comments to me, "oh, there's a parking fee here?"--just between us--and Joseph immediately responded in a very condescending tone, "we've been charging for parking for 2 years now." Okkkkk...Completely unnecessary. After everything was finally processed, he almost shouted, "Do you want a welcome letter?" Of course I do--why wouldn't I? Only after I asked him to please speak in a softer tone, especially since my kids were present, did he suddenly switch his approach and start explaining the welcome letter in a much more pleasant tone going over breakfast hours, WiFi, and where the elevator was. The elevator, by the way, is not easy to find from the lobby, so had he not even share the welcome letter we would have been wandering around trying to figure it out. Also worth noting: this location does not honor World of Hyatt member benefits. No upgrades, no water bottles, no late checkout--none of the basic perks you'd expect as a loyal Hyatt guest-- Globalist or Explorist. I completely understand that policies need to be followed. But there's a huge difference between enforcing rules and treating guests with basic human decency. If this had been handled with even a little understanding, I would have simply driven back to get my ID. Hyatt is always my go to for both work and personal travel, and I've never experienced anything like this. Instead of feeling welcomed, I left feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome. I hope management takes this seriously so other guests don't have to go through the same experience.

If your kink is being spit on, you'll love their showers!…read more If the price is right, consider this place for a clean, comfortable, modern room. Lots of pluses: nice staff, daily cleaning, both blackout and thin curtains, firm comfortable bed without a thick gross comforter, hot water, microwave, fridge (not packed with expensive items that charge you if you even touch them), swivel smart TV w/ cable, free wifi, free parking, USB ports, pool, workout room (whatever that is), onsite market and restaurant (and Starbucks with questionable hours), and a lobby that is way too big for the non-convention crowd (though perhaps too small for a convention). The only major minus is that the water pressure was like a drinking fountain. The minor minuses: no free breakfast, non-Chi obstacle course from entry to elevator, no coffee condiments in room, heater smelled like an old oven, getting onto the wifi splash page on your phone requires entering neverssl d0t c0m (something I had to figure out on my own), required me to check in by 10pm, and calling them direct is a nightmare. I likely said Representative 100 times- stupid stubborn robots. If you don't know the area, the location is good. Cypress, former home of John Stamos (Full House), Scott Aukerman (Comedy Bang Bang) and Tiger Woods (Inside Edition) has one of the best intersections in America: Ball/Holder. Though you're only half a mile from things like Trader Joe's and Red Robin, a few restaurants (Panera, Noodles Company, Tacomania, and El Torito) are just across the parking lot. The 605 is 5 miles north, the 5/91 7 miles east, and the 405/22 7 miles west, with the closest beach 8 miles away and Disneyland 20 minutes. The Los Alamitos Race Track is super close. If there's a horse called BadWaterPressure, it's a sign. Bet all you have!

"The One Star Gas Light Express"…read more Giving one star is quite generous. I would recommend not booking here. I have had more than a couple stays here. All of them came with invasion of privacy for free. They will enter your room at any time and play it off on cleaning but they don't always clean so I'll leave it to your imagination why they would do that. They will enter your room to clean when you have told them not to. I came back to find them in my room after we came back from breakfast and the girl was standing over my bed not making it. Came back and the room wasn't thoroughly cleaned. Their key cards do not work and require several trips to the front desk and they still don't work. They will tell you it's based on "your electronics" but if you look at the key card mag stripes electronic strips they are worn from overuse. They need to replace their cards and the batteries in their doors and also okay the cards for the right number of days as per the reservation. Their front desk is a mixed experience. Rianna the Front Desk agent that was working at night on Dec 18 2025 should not do customer service. She stated," She does not have to wear a name tag." (But she was the only one from this location not wearing one, go figure.) She comes off angry and not caring at all. If you bring issues to her she will lie to you and gaslight you and tell you they don't exist. I told her about the issues; she lied about it. She pretended to know rather than saying, "I don't know." When I said," I will talk to your supervisor," she said,"You are rude and are not welcome back." I said in a calm but firm voice ,"My dog is in a hot car because you've made me do two trips to the office on a second night stay after having all of my other issues with you." Couldn't activate the key cards right. But she denied repeatedly that there were issues and blamed it on me as the guest. Then, required me to make 2 trips back and forth to my room while my dog was getting hot and upset in our vehicle because we couldn't access our room. Our window air unit stopped working correctly mid day. They have weird foreign hairs in their showers because they don't clean thoroughly. Also rust stains painted over and mold coming thru the paint. My nose has been stuffy the whole time here. As much as they access your room or try to gain access to your room to do "room checks" under the guise of cleaning with very little cleaning done. Today for instance at 11am or slightly before which would have been a check out time. I was dozing off to an am nap and heard loud banging at the door which caused my dog to be startled and bark. I went to the door, peaked thru and declined room service. 40 minutes later as I was dozing off again, they attempted once again to enter the room. Loud knocking at door. Cue dog startled barking and once again I declined room service as I peaked thru the door. They continued to patrol outside my door back and forth for the next several hours and the only thing that kept them from trying to attempt entry again was my dog barking as they came close again. Mind you, room I was in is an end, and they have many empty rooms so it was unnecessary for them to patrol outside my room. Additionally, upon check in the first night the key cards to access the room barely worked it took "six or more" swipes with both 2 different cards each time after bringing luggage in from the car. Then, I received an odd call from the front desk inquiring," if everything was okay?" No motel 6 ever calls to check if you are okay. I let them know I was bringing my luggage in with my child and dog. They basically told me to "have a nice night." There are also cameras all over the property directly outside your room etc. Watching your move at all times so they can track you as a guest. There are also limited outlets to charge any of your devices. Some of their beds are broken as well from overuse and have not been replaced. Also, the walls are thin and you may hear people screaming or fighting which is what was heard last night.

My kids enjoyed them so much. The hotel room and amenities met my expectation for a hotel. We did have some issue with the hot water in our bathroom. But I was able to call the front desk, and they were able to send someone to fix it the same day so finally, hot water in the shower! I wanted to talk about how AMAZING the shuttle service is. So they provide a complimentary shuttle service to Disneyland and Knotts Berry Farm. My kids actually enjoyed the shuttle service and it worked out really well with timing for us to travel to the amusement parks without worrying about driving/parking. They have a phone number you can text to make/cancel reservations, they do require advanced notice for this. Each time, they do send a confirmation text so I know I will be picked up. The shuttle may run on time or a little bit late or even a little early, but overall, it was a good experience with it. We always arrived to the stop early enough so we can board. The shuttle does allow strollers without issue so that is great. I think the biggest perk of this place is the shuttle service. Also, parking at the hotel is easy. There's plenty of parking and they do not charge for parking if we are a hotel guest. They provide a parking pass to use during our stay. In the evening, the spots closer to the hotel are taken but still plenty of parking. This is a great location in Buena Park, it is very close to Portos as well so that's a great bonus!

Follow up from last review:…read more I am honestly still in shock over how I was treated at the Residence Inn Cypress and the complete lack of accountability afterward. My first negative interaction was with a front desk employee who was aggressively rude to me for no reason. Her tone was confrontational from the start, and when I calmly addressed it, instead of taking any responsibility, she immediately played the victim. It was so out of line and uncomfortable that I felt compelled to email corporate that evening. When I spoke with management upon checkout, rather than apologizing, the assistant manager told me she would have to "investigate who was telling the truth." That comment alone was incredibly offensive. I even pointed to their own cameras and said, "Please review your own footage," because I knew it would clearly show I was calm and respectful and how inappropriate the employee's behavior was. Separately, at check-in, I had politely asked if the hotel ever offers parking discounts for guests with handicaps, as many Marriott properties do. The employee at the time said she would check. The next day, another friendly employee told me they would be happy to accommodate that. However, after my complaint about the rude employee, the assistant manager suddenly told me they should never give any special accommodations related to handicaps because it would be "discrimination against those without a handicap." I was stunned by the lack of sensitivity and basic understanding in that statement. As a special needs parent, hearing that was incredibly disheartening. I simply responded with no comment because I was so taken aback. What made matters worse was the way the assistant manager treated me throughout the conversation. It was obvious she was upset that I had contacted corporate. She made me feel like my experience didn't matter. There was no real apology, only defensiveness. I was told the situation would be investigated and that I would hear back. It has now been well over a month, and I have never received any follow-up, response, or resolution. This is especially disappointing because we have stayed here before without issues. While at the pool during this stay, I even spoke with other guests who shared similar experiences with the same employee, which was very telling. Putting everything aside, the employee's behavior toward me was aggressively rude and completely inappropriate, and management's handling of the situation was just as troubling. The lack of accountability and the complete absence of follow-up speak volumes. Unfortunately, based on this experience, I cannot recommend this property.
