The Bottom Line 4 stars: Nice shopping and entertainment complex. A lot of dining, shopping and…read moreentertainment options. As somewhat expected in a highly populated area in a big city, be vigilant and watch out for yourself, because despite cameras everywhere and the occasional security personnel, you tend to see some shady characters lurking around. Location 4 stars: In the Fairfax District area of Los Angeles, to the East of the original Farmer's Market. The Grove has a huge but very busy parking structure, so while you may have to journey to the upper levels, you will eventually find parking. Although some restaurants will validate part of the parking fees, be prepared to pay somewhere between $10 and $30 depending on how long you stay and which stores you visit. Their validation rules are fairly complex and not straightforward, so be sure to read all the fine print. They also have Valet parking on premises. Venue 4 stars: Nice modern open air set up with a Nordstrom, Zara and H&M and a bunch of smaller stores, an AMC movie theater, a Barnes and Noble, a Cheesecake Factory, and a variety of coffee shops and restaurants to fit most tastes and budgets. One catch being that the Grove parking lot cannot be validated by the Farmers Market stores and vice versa. Once you are on premises you can use the trolly to move from one end of the venue to the other. Also keep in mind that the Original Farmers Market is literally next door and attached to the Grove, which dramatically increases your food options.

Came in with my family for a walk-in at their cafe upstairs, which was easy enough. It was around a 25 minute wait. Upon being seated we were immediately offered drinks (complimentary champagne and tea). It took us a moment to realize this was part of the "Tea Time" experience (which was not mentioned at any point before scheduling the walk-in nor after sitting down). We came in expecting the regular dining menu, which the website still shows as an option! It felt very bait-and-switch. Especially since this is the more expensive option than what we were planning to get! Apparently 3 weeks ago the regular menu was removed. Just our luck! Now, don't get me wrong, it's a cute experience. You can pick a loaner doll from the back to sit with, there are a variety of drink options, the decor is cute. But one tower of finger food for a table of 3 HUNGRY adults at $55 a person just ain't cutting it in this economy. Also, if your child is a picky eater they might not enjoy anything off the tray besides the fried macaroni balls and pastries, LOL. Fun for a one-time experience, but otherwise incredibly over-priced for what it is.

I was happy getting a freebie postcard and was able to enjoy taking photos inside of the space with the photozones on the walls. Some things that stood out to me was seeing that they're strict on no outside food or drinks, and when I looked at the food and snacks sold, it was mostly Korean ramen or some ice cups, so the vibes here are meant to be very casual convenience-store hangout type. I also saw that the huge floor space also holds dances so that's pretty cool!! I found an album I really wanted to buy and thought it was cool to find exclusive merch from the store branch too from K-pop groups, especially Ateez. It seems like the albums and merch sold are recent (releases from same year or previous year) and aren't oversupplied with past old albums/merch like other kpop stores. I know that there are limited time giveaways at the start/opening, but I didn't really care to get them as I had tickets already. I saw online how it was incredibly packed and busy at the start due to the giveaways. Walking in, we were handed a free exclusive signed postcard from a random artist of the lineup. Some fans were waiting to see who'd you get in hopes of trading. The store itself is big and I enjoy the high ceiling as it wasn't too stuffy inside. The kpop albums sold wasn't bad; some groups were more highlighted than others but it's worth noting that there were exclusive hello82 merch which was nice. I bought a signed album for a good price ($23) and felt content. I think this store is good for the kpop community and helps foster cool things. I enjoy watching the youtube channel too. Past cupsleeve events are sold here too and there's also korean convenience food snacks/ramen station sold and plenty of tables to eat at while listening to kpop. Overall I had a pleasant experience but I do wish there were actually more merch from the artists performing at the actual event that's being advertised!
