This adorable and very well-curated boutique is nestled in Schoen Place, sort of "down & behind" Olives, and across from the craft brewery. The window decor gives the impression of a spa, with soothing colors and lots of soft things like scarves, sweaters, felt hats and blankets. I've been there 4 times in the last couple of months, buying gifts for others and clothes and jewelry for myself. For others, I love the gourmet nut butters, cookbooks, kitchen gadgets and cocktail items - perfect for creating custom gift baskets. For myself, I have purchased quite a bit of jewelry (earrings and a necklace), some hair clips, a couple jumpsuits, and an awesome teal-colored vegan leather purse with a removable bag inside which doubles as a second purse. They also have a whole wall of cute greeting cards, and on the second floor a large assortment of baby items - from clothes to books and toys to teething rings. I absolutely adored Salty 1.0 and am even more in love with Salty 2.0. I stopped in over the weekend and grabbed two adorable dresses, a makeup case with butts all over it, and a nice "at-home and chillin" sweater. The price point for many items has come down, and I am confident you will continue to find literally anything you're looking for here. I didn't even realize that I had stopped in on new release Tuesday, so I was especially delighted to find a whole bunch of books that had been on my list to find and purchase being freshly put on display in the front of the store. Lovely, welcoming, and service-minded staff that are happy to assist in all your book-related needs *OR* just let you wander the store aimlessly (as I did) to pick up anything that grabs your attention for purchase. Great selection of books and gifts, wonderfully organized, easily available street parking, and overall just such a gem of a shop. I especially loved the "blind date with a book" selections that came with little summaries of each book. I ended up with "Mystic River" after picking a psychological thriller with dark and emotional crime stories, estranged friendships / childhood trauma, murder investigations, and working class settings as my featured themes. I remember watching the movie years ago, but had never read the book... so now I'm super excited to dive in. TL;DR Setting the bar high on the independent bookstore scene in ROC. I'll be back to this location before too long, for sure.
