The place is modestly decorated, and the menu is another iteration of the newer restaurants opening up in Querétaro: a few of the typical Mexican breakfast dishes, sandwiches, salads, coffee and tea, and even pizza.
The menu revolves around a good idea, and one that I am happy to see in new restaurants, which is that it mainly features Mexican dishes, as ironic as it sounds for a new restaurant in Mexico. Breakfast starts with pastries as almost anywhere else, followed by coffee and your choice of juice. Typical egg dishes (read Huevos A La Mexicana, Huevos Benedictinos, etc.), and chilaquiles are the main offerings during breakfast. Tiny bread rolls arrive at the table after the food is set on your table, and coffee is refilled constantly and graciously.
While the meal was enjoyable and the server friendly, the food was only pleasantly ordinary. The warm pastries tasted like re-heated day-old bread, though beautifully presented on a stone plate. The food itself could stand to be more flavorful, but it takes time for a new restaurant to find its style and flavor. The restaurant does manage to transmit that 'casual' vibe that most eateries try to achieve. Hopefully time will be their ally in their pursuit of excellence.
