So I glad I booked this restaurant for dinner during our short but memorable stay in Queretaro. The ambiance and dining area are stunning when lit up at night. My daughter loves water and fountains and she was mesmerized by the pool. It was busy on a Tuesday night, with mostly business dinners. We could hear German and English being spoken all around. Service was a tad bit slow for this reason. Our servers were friendly nonetheless. The food is amazing and definitely worth the splurge. It matches the restaurants loom in terms of presentation and doesn't disappoint in taste. We shared the beef carpaccio for starter, which is thinly sliced and raw. It is dressed in a delicious sauce and just melts in your mouth. I highly recommend it. For the appetizers we went with the sea bass and filet mignon. Both were cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. The coconut ice cream we had for dessert was the perfect palette cleanser. This restaurant is beautiful and serves delicious food. One of my friends recommended this place. This restaurant was a dream. It was like a palace and was decorated with lights everywhere; poinsettias (which are native to this part of Mexico) and parts of the center of the restaurant were outdoors with a swimming pool right in the middle! * *The plates were exquisite with traditional tacos, but also octopus, to corn soup, churros and maracuya (passion fruit) eclairs. Great food, amazing ambiance and good service. We had the Grilled Octopus, Arrachera, side order of vegetables, , mashed potatoes, aguachile as an appetizer. It was way too much for two of us but all were very good. Our favorite was the octopus. The meat was very tasty and cooked perfectly but it was a little tough. The drinks were also good. We had a lemonade with soda water and a drink called Paloma with tequila and mescal. The place is great for special occasions, nice dates. read more

Their local Queretaro wines were quite delicious, although they sold out of the cabernet and we had to get the blend. Their medium rare meat was good - not top of the line steak, but it was good enough. I would recommend the flatbread and empanadas over anything else. Their best item is the empanada. The location is beautiful, the food and service are good What irks me about La Laborcilla is that I've had breakfast here three times (twice outside next to the fountain and once "inside") since December 16th. Each time I've asked for a space heater, the staff seem befuddled. Based on my experience I think this restaurant is way over-rated. I believe the hype is due to the undeniable beauty of its surroundings, but as a top- notch restaurant there a significant room for improvement. I took my family to Hacienda la Laborcilla two weeks ago (a party of seven). The food was consistently average. The seasoning of the onion soup I had was not 100% right but the real disappointment was their version of the classic slice of bread with melted cheese. Instead of the bread they choose to put a "lancashire pudding" like topper that rises as it is baked, it looked great, but the flavor was very fatty. The quality of the cheese was questionable too. Two of my relatives ordered the beef bourguignon, the texture of the meat was superb, but the seasoning was flavorless. I also ordered a pasta with wild mushrooms, again the flavor of the mushroom sauce wasn't there and the parmesan cheese was not parmesan, the waiter insisted it was, but as someone whose family came from Reggio Emilia, I can guarantee that it's not. I am not being picky here! The cheese was flavorless too which indicates that it not parmesan cheese and it was not freshly grated. That's a basic mistake for a top-notch restaurant. read more

Food: The food was delicious and there were so many choices for a place in Mexico. They had a cassoulet, which is from France, so it is odd that it is here. Escargot was delicious, garlic and not over cooked. The trilogy beef/shrimp special was very flavorful, not sure what the sauce was but it was really good. My coworker also commented that his food was delicious as well. Service: Our waiter was very friendly and very attentive. No complaints. Atmosphere: Dark ambiance, there is an awesome pond in the middle. It was a little too cold to eat outside, but if it was warmer, we would have sat there instead. Very fancy place. Price: A little pricy, but not extreme. But you are paying for the experience and the wonderful array of menus items. Went here for dinner on a Wednesday night. This place has inside courtyard with an awesome water fountain in the center. The atmosphere at night is incredible . They had live music and a dj for inside sitting. I had a couple margaritas which were really good. As starters we had cecina and the provolone slices. As the main dish we had the octopus and chicken curry casserole. Everything was delicious but the stars of the night for me were the two entrees. A totally unpleasant experience. Paula and Alejandro, two representatives of this establishment, lack professionalism and even exercised what I would define as prejudicial behavior towards my family and I. We arrived at QRO from the USA last night and decided to have dinner at this place. We came dressed casually and as soon as we arrived we noticed that the aforementioned representatives analyzed us from head to toe and stated that they only had one table for us and that it would be in a corner next to the kitchen. By the way, the unoccupied tables outside and even inside abounded. Moreover, many other customers who were already dining, they were not all formally dressed. When we asked one of these representatives to show us the place where we would sit, two of my companions decided to accompany me and Ms. Alejandra in an arrogant tone expressed "only two can enter." I perfectly understand all COVID safety protocols, but her tone was totally unnecessary. In the end, we (my family and I) decided to show these two individuals the class they lacked, and therefore we left without saying anything. Later that night I called the captain (supervisor) and spoke to him directly about our experience. Truthfully, I had never experienced anything like this. Una experiencia totalmente desagradable.
