Very organized and the party area had plenty of seats, tables, and you can bring in any food you want. We had pizza delivered and staff was great to help. The building Spark was located within was also artsy and cool. Highly recommended! The only thing difficult was the parking. Be careful of no parking areas.

There was an art installation (similar or part of Meow) and so much fun to take a look at this vibrant and funky art. For Insta people, lots of fun photo opportunities! There is a giant steel structure/installation that has lots of space to climb in, slide through and explore. So much to see and we spent a good 60 mins of play there. Make sure to check the corners ( you're allowed to go in) so you don't miss anything. We almost missed an area. Also there is some areas to do some art as well. We didn't stop to do it but it's there. One slide can be intense, so probably not for small kiddos. Probably good for kids 7 and above (6 if they are courageous) just because of the climbing structure areas and bars width. Parents with young children should follow, they literally can land up somewhere else and some areas they do need to climb up and might need help. Definetly wear sneakers. I wore the wrong shoes and couldn't go into certain areas. Great concept and fun!

PLEASE READ AND RECONSIDER YOUR DECISION:…read more I feel very guilty to send my children there. Since the camp is not allowing kids having any electronics there, I had no way to know what was going on. Upon picking him up, he rushed me to take him home with teary eyes. This is uncommon to see him, esp now a middle school boy to show such emotion. I asked counselor how he was doing this week, he said, "it's better, but was rough at the beginning." I curiously asked, "what do you mean 'rough'?" He simply answered, "Words" and did not elaborate further. When we were ready to drive away from the parking lot, my son said "They are RACIST!" I was surprised what came out of his mouth. I carefully clarified what was going on.. He said many of his cabinmate said he was a "Ching Chong" and was a "WONTON BOY"!! The counselors witnessed everything but did not report to upper and took bullying situation seriously. Counselors hid, brushed off, and did not relay the incidents to parents (as they are young college students too). My son was just reading his book upon arrival as he is a "slow to warm" personality and did not bother anyone, but was being treated with UNACCEPTABLE BEHAVIORS by his cabin mates and MENTORS. I was expecting this Christian camp would be a transforming experience, but it traumatized him at very difficult middle school age. Last day of the camp, kids leave with a booklet called "21-day challenge". By having such devotion, you get a "prize" once you complete them. I encouraged him to do it, he simply put it aside with a very sad sad face... As his mother, my heart aches. May God heals him fast and understand people (whether children or adults) that being mean or brushed off his hurts do not change God's and our love to him... As I mentioned the incident to Pastor Al before we left, he said, "I myself said something when I was younger that was not right either. We cannot stop all the situation to happen because that is how the world is now, quite sad." Will you take all these as parent? If you are colored ones like us, God still love you no matter what. We are not thin skin like wonton because He brings us trials and we overcame them, at this Carolina Creek. Also, I just found out from my daughter that kids are not allowed to wear ANY shoes inside cabins including shower/bathroom area. All shoes have to be left outside cabin. Our particular cabin - no bathroom allowed to use at night because this disturbs others. You know what, she unintentionally brought a poisonous toad back home when we washed her water shoes. I cannot believe it...

Counselors know everybody's name, there are horses, zip lining, ropes course, waterfront, archery, riflery, water front, and a ton of other things that are really entertaining. It's huge but you can find your way pretty easily, the cabins are old but it's fun because it's kind of a throwback and the counselors are super entertaining, and as for the things removed, it's still fun, even without NOLA roasts, Non-Or Campers, etc. It encourages activity and fun and has so many choices of what to do. I have a favorite horse, she's very nice and most of the horses are great too. All in all I love this camp very much (also it's a great break from tech) and it's the one place where I can fall asleep with melatonin (it tires you out in a good way) and my anger issues get a lot better here because it's very calming. As for the price, I think if you can afford it you should DEFINITELY have your kid come here. It's near Shreveport, Louisiana but if you live somewhere too far to drive (i.e. a kid lives in Vegas) then you can fly and they'll pick you up at the airport and get you over on a bus. 10/10 recommend. You make amazing memories and life long friends.

The people there are not very well trained in the activities they are supposed to teach. The camp looks as if it hasn't been updated since the 60's. The cabins are falling apart and have many cracks where bugs find their way in. Two years in a row my cabin was infested with spiders. The last time I went the cabin flooded with the smallest amount of rain and there was an ant problem. The workers there have a problem with favoriting certain campers. The food is cheap and frankly very bad. You are never able to tell if you are eating fish patties or chicken ones(not an exaggeration). Ever heard of Sysco? Because that is all you eat. The cheapest and lowest quality food I have ever seen/ate. The councilors are very young themselves and are not old enough to be responsible for your 6+ year olds. Don't get me wrong, it used to be okay. Until, they got a new head director who is not one to pass down little traditions that made Camp Fern what it was. Anything that people found joy in was removed; non-honor campers, Nola roasts, some camp songs, ect. If you haven't gone to this camp you wouldn't understand. In conclusion, this camp is not for you unless you want to waste money to get the cheapest quality of everything. These people only care about your money, not your experience.

Our daughter, despite the heat loved all the amenities camp had to offer. The bunks/cabins were amazing. Each room in our daughters cabin had 6-8 beds and shared a private toilet and shower. In the room was a community sink. There were 3 rooms in the cabin and had a middle seating/lounge area and small kitchen (assuming for the counselors). They had access to ice and water to fill their bottles. Shoes were kept outside the main door to keep the interior tidy. Days were started and finished with devotions/Bible study and worship. They swam at least once a day and kept them cool with water activities through the day and inside arts and crafts. When it was time to go home, our daughter cried because she didn't want to leave the camp or the new friends she had made through the week. We will most definitely be back next year!!!

He was surrounded by boys making inappropriate jokes and turning Christian songs into sex songs and constantly breaking into his shower to see his penis. Which led to him not doing certain activities that he would get dirty so he would not be subjected to this in his zero leadership cabin. I have heard great things about camp, so I am SHOCKED at the experience he had.
