Very nice and clean facility. Fairly large, so you can almost always find an open cage. Front desk…read morestaff is always extremely nice. Cons - bring your wallet. $40 for a thirty minute lesson seems extreme. Our last lesson was with the facility manager, and no joke, he was on his phone for the majority of my niece's lesson. We were there on time, but our lesson started five minutes late as he was out in the main area talking with people. During our 25 minute lesson, he took two phone calls and checked his texts 7-8 times. So basically every 3-4 minutes he was on his phone. For $40 you think he could give us full attention for 30 minutes. Twice he said "good job" to my niece when she completed the action she was practicing - when he was looking at his phone and not even watching what she was doing. We had another lesson with a different instructor and he was super good. Focused on my niece the entire time. Actually gave her 45 minutes as when our lesson was up, he said he didn't have any more for the day, so he gave her some extra attention. A-plus for that due. Great facility. Some really great and friendly staff. And some great instructors. But if you are going to charge $40 for a thirty minute lesson, you should give that student a full 30 minute lesson.

He was so scared of the punishment from the school if he tried to defend himself. Now he is building confidence no longer being bullied (we did leave that school district) and learning for himself right from wrong regardless of the fear of repercussions. We love the disciple and caring black belt instructors that lead this after school program.

It was uncalled for. Frustrated or not, for him to be rude to me was unprofessional. I am not his student and I was not unkind or disrespectful toward him. I was picking up my children from school and because of the program my daughter is in, she is dismissed in the same area the after school program is dismissed to but 5 to 10 minutes prior to the end of the day. Because I have a 2 year old as well, its easier to park at the curb to have less worry of having to chase a 2 and 3 year old than the back of a parking lot. I'd have moved sooner however I asked that they dismiss my 5 year old to me as well so waited an extra couple minutes which is apparently too much of an inconvenience despite the children Not having been dismissed to them yet. If this is how I am treated visibly taking care of 3 children, I will certainly not be sending my children to him to see how he treats them.

I have three sons -- 9 year old identical twins and a 13 year old. My twins grew up at Academy for…read moreCreative Learning, attending there from the time they turned two until they started kindergarten. My oldest son attended the ACL school age program during Christmas break and summer for three years. I cannot say enough good things about ACL -- our family has many very sweet memories of our time there. One of the features that distinguishes ACL from other child care facilities is that the owner pays her employees well and there is very little turn over there. The teachers (God bless them) work there because they love kids and they have the patience of saints (if my life depended on it I don't think I could manage even a day in charge of a classroom full of two year olds, but these ladies make it look easy and fun). Each teacher that we came into contact with took the time to really get to know my boys -- even though my twins look exactly alike, they were always treated like the individuals that they are. When they were three, one of my sons needed some medical tests in Dallas and I was stunned when his teacher spent the weekend driving all over town to find him a stuffed bulldog (his favorite animal at the time) to cuddle with during his test. During the year my boys were in the pre-K room our family went through a divorce and the teachers were such a big help in providing my boys the stability and TLC that they needed through that difficult transition. The hair salon was a great feature -- all you have to do is leave payment at the front desk in the morning and when you pick up your child at the end of the day they have a fantastic hair cut. The swimming pool was great too -- the daily time in the pool during the summer time went a long way toward my boys developing a love for water. The summer school age camp was super -- every day was filled with field trips, fun crafts, time in the pool and games. My boys still reminisce about summers at ACL -- especially the weekly visits from the snow cone truck. As far as I'm concerned, the only downside of ACL is that the food is kind of junky -- white bread, juice drinks, hot dogs, chicken nuggets, and processed cheese are all featured prominently on the menu. I did find, however, that the staff was good about abiding by my request that my boys be served the healthier options and given water instead of juice drinks. The bottom line is that I recommend ACL wholeheartedly.
