There are many streams just waiting for some rain to fill them including a wonderful "wash pond". You have to walk the "Lost Trail" located in the area recently reopened after the flooding of the Leon River. It is beautiful with many trees, creeks waiting for rain and trails that tie into it. They also have great camping sites, really nice bathrooms, many picnic tables under trees and many other things to enjoy and explore. I have been to other State Parks and they all have something different to offer, but this one is my favorite. Whether you are there for the day or over night, I think you will really enjoy your time here. There is also some wonderful history here and I think that makes it more special.

The silence was so loud if that makes sense. The farther we went onto the trail, it began to intersect with other trails and we began to cross paths with bikers, other hikers, and runners. This wasn't our case, and they had a guy checking IDs at the door and stuff. A fun place that had a lot to offer.

There is a place where kids can play in the water that is open for a decent chunk of the summer. Not sure how long the water part is on a year but a nice way for the kiddos to cool off in the summer heat. Next to a school in a subdivision it has few trees but gets plenty of use. Limited parking available so make plans for that. Decent for what it is which is a small free park.

They is a gazebo made from bricks. It is very nice a historical plaque that tells about the history of the area placed there by Texas. There are sone nice benches donated. Also some bricks in the walkway donated. There is a time capsule there. The magnolia house which I am assuming is related to the HGTV show and Chip and Joanna Gaines somehow is across the street. It is IMO more of a gathering place for the community than a regular park. Information is dispensed here. There is a community info area on boards but is hard to read because of the weather affecting it. Please don't get me wrong it is a nice place to "sit a spell" and very quiet and peaceful. If you were wanting bbq pits places to run or bathroom's it isn't really the place for that. It is off a main business area for the city. I would go there and read or contemplate if I lived closer. I really like it and the word Legacy means more in the name than the park part IMO.
